Demon Slayer Virgil [Isekai One Piece]

Chapter 46: Crocodile, You Are Too Weak

"Hmph hmph hmph, who I am doesn't matter. But the rat hiding underground, are you sure you don't want to show yourself?" Zavia chuckled coldly, tapping the sandy ground with the scabbard in his left hand.

"Hmph, you found me? You're quite perceptive." Suddenly, a hole resembling a burrow appeared near the captain, and a woman's voice emerged from within.

The next moment, a short, elderly woman with a mole-like appearance climbed out of the hole.

"You pig! Get out of the hole!" The old woman yelled towards the burrow after emerging.

A moment later, the hole expanded, and a fat man, at least two meters tall, emerged. He didn't appear particularly intelligent.

"So slow! So slow! You pig!" The woman slapped the man after he appeared, her expression agitated.

(Eh... let me think. The man is Mr. 4, and the woman is... is...)

Seeing the two, Zavia tried to recall their information but suddenly forgot the woman's name. He only remembered that her Devil Fruit was the Zoan-type Mole-Mole Fruit.

The man's name was Mr. 4, a fat man around two meters tall. Although he seemed a bit dim-witted, his strength was monstrous.

According to the original story, the giant baseball bat behind him was called the "4-Ton Bat." Zavia wasn't sure if it truly weighed four tons, but it was undoubtedly heavy.

He remembered how Usopp had suffered a fracture upon being struck by it, nearly dying on the spot.

The woman's name was Miss Merry Christmas. In Crocodile's Baroque Works, the men were codenamed Mr. followed by a number, while the women were Miss followed by a holiday or day of the week.

This explained why Zavia suddenly forgot her name. He wouldn't bother remembering such trivial details, only numbers at most.

From the moment those self-proclaimed patrol guards had brought Zavia to this place, he had sensed the presence of two living beings beneath the sand.

"Now that you're out, tell me, where is Baroque Works' base?"

"!!!"

Miss Merry Christmas was shocked and wary, while Mr. 4 remained in a daze.

"Why do you know about..." Miss Merry Christmas bared her sharp claws, her face filled with hostility towards Zavia.

"How I know is none of your concern. Just tell me where Baroque Works' base is." Zavia sheathed his Yamato blade and spoke coldly.

"You're dreaming! Hey! Mr. 4! Snap out of it! This guy must die!" Miss Merry Christmas slapped Mr. 4 and then burrowed back into the sand.

"Oh."

Mr. 4 responded slowly, then pulled out the 4-Ton Bat from behind him. At his feet was a dog with a gun-shaped body, resembling a dachshund.

The dachshund opened its mouth wide, and something seemed to be operating inside.

Bang!

A baseball was shot out of the dachshund's mouth.

Thump!

Mr. 4 swung his bat with all his might, sending the baseball hurtling towards Zavia at an incredible speed, almost reaching the speed of sound.

Zavia watched the approaching baseball with a cold expression.

It was slow, but not too slow. In Zavia's eyes, the baseball's speed was like a bubble floating in the air, moving slowly but slightly accelerated by the wind.

Just as Zavia was about to dodge the baseball, he suddenly felt a strange sensation beneath his feet.

Someone was below!

Reacting instantly, Zavia bent his body slightly, concentrating his strength in his hands and toes.

Clang! Boom!

In the next instant, his blade flashed, the golden sunlight reflecting off the Yamato as a cloud of sand erupted around him.

He effortlessly sliced the baseball in half, and 0.99 seconds later, Zavia appeared behind Mr. 4.

"Ha! Got you... What?!"

1.25 seconds later, two large claws and a mole-like old woman emerged from where Zavia had been standing.

Boom!

The baseball, cleaved in two, flew off in opposite directions before exploding.

The explosions occurred just as Miss Merry Christmas emerged, catching her on both sides. Although she was only affected by the shockwave and remained unharmed, her body was now covered in soot.

"Cough! Cough! Mr. 4! What the hell are you doing..."

Miss Merry Christmas coughed twice, having inhaled the smoke from the explosions, and then looked towards Mr. 4. However, the sight that greeted her left her speechless.

A thin line of blood appeared on Mr. 4's neck, and blood began to flow out profusely. Finally, his head detached from his body and rolled to Miss Merry Christmas's feet.

She stared at the head in a daze, momentarily frozen in shock. No, shock wasn't the right word. It was more like disbelief.

"So, are you willing to tell me where the Baroque Works base is now, old mole lady?" A cold voice suddenly rang out from behind Miss Merry Christmas. At that moment, she felt the icy breath of death on her neck.

"You bastard!!..."

Miss Merry Christmas lashed out, swinging her right claw at Zavia behind her. However, the next moment, she felt like she had struck a piece of steel, incredibly hard and unyielding.

"Are those your last words before telling me the location?"

Zavia looked at Miss Merry Christmas with Vergil's signature smirk. Combined with the killing intent emanating from him, it was a chilling sight.

Miss Merry Christmas's hair stood on end as she saw that smile, and a feeling of terror spread throughout her body.

Four hours later, Zavia found himself in a corridor within a building. This was Crocodile's lair, the headquarters of Baroque Works.

The location where those pirates had taken Zavia and the location Miss Merry Christmas had revealed for Baroque Works weren't far apart, only a three-and-a-half-hour journey.

Upon arriving at Baroque Works, Zavia couldn't help but admire Crocodile's ingenuity. If this base had a few more paths, it could easily be mistaken for a maze.

If he hadn't been holding the man in his hand and asking for directions, he would have definitely gotten lost.

As for the man Zavia was holding, he had almost forgotten his name. If it weren't for the man's display of his ability, Zavia wouldn't have remembered him at all.

The man was one of the minor characters from the original story, Mr. 11.

"It took me half an hour, but I finally made it." Zavia muttered to himself as he stood before a large door, using his Observation Haki to sense the situation inside.

There were two auras inside, most likely Crocodile and Robin.

"Hey, I need you to do something for me. Listen carefully." Zavia looked at Mr. 11 with a threatening gaze from behind his mask.

"Uh... Yes! Whatever you need, sir... I'll do it..." Mr. 11's speech was slightly slurred because Zavia was gripping his neck.

"Listen carefully. I'm going to defeat Crocodile and make it public. Now go and contact the Alabasta News Agency. Wait for me in the central plaza of Alubarna. You better not try anything funny, or else..."

Zavia released Mr. 11, his expression cold. In his left hand, a remote-like device appeared, which he shook gently.

"Cough cough... Yes! I'll definitely complete the task!" Mr. 11 finally had a chance to breathe after being released, but his face turned pale with fear the next moment.

The reason for his fear was that when Zavia had captured him, he had forced him to swallow a small, round object, threatening him that it was a remote-controlled bomb.

One could imagine Mr. 11's character. He was just a small-time pirate who was afraid of death and wanted to live.

However, the truth was that Zavia had tricked him. He had only given him a pill, about the size of a pear with a strong metallic taste, leading Mr. 11 to believe he had swallowed a bomb.

"Get lost."

"Yes sir!"

Mr. 11 scurried away like a frightened rat.

Zavia turned around, the Yamato blade appearing in his hand. He pushed open the door before him, revealing a long staircase leading down.

Descending the stairs, Zavia saw two figures: Crocodile, sitting on a chair and smoking a cigar, and Nico Robin, standing beside him.

"Hmm? Who are you? Are you one of the executives' subordinates? I don't recall seeing you before." Crocodile looked at Zavia with confusion, mistaking him for a subordinate of one of his executives.

However, Robin looked wary, sensing a dangerous aura emanating from Zavia.

This was understandable. After all, Robin had been on the run since she was a child and was more sensitive to danger than most.

But the next second, she panicked as she noticed the sword in Zavia's hand.

(Could it be, this man is...)

Robin glanced at the newspaper on the table, then back at Zavia. Recognition dawned on her face, along with a look of terror.

"Mr. 0, be careful. This man is the villain who has been making headlines recently, the former Marine Rear Admiral, Zavia." Robin approached Crocodile cautiously and whispered. Despite her seemingly loyal demeanor, she was already planning her escape.

"What? This guy is the Zavia who slaughtered his own subordinates and insulted a Celestial Dragon in public?!" Crocodile burst into laughter upon hearing the news.

"What a rare guest. Let me see if your strength truly matches the rumors!"

"As expected, you are too weak, Crocodile."
