Chapter 33. A Request
Lilieth's PoV
I sat on the long sofa in the middle of the room, my eyes focused on the report sheet in my hand. My eyes moved from side to side reading the letter and processing the numbers written there. I was quite surprised by the numbers on those financial statements. Diorix is an arrogant person, but I can understand his attitude. From all his illegal businesses, he can get 100,000 gold coins overnight. Although he is not a noble, his wealth is equivalent to a duke. Apart from this place, he has gambling houses in several cities. He also smuggled weapons, magic items and has a larger network than Vance's, his network even has reached the capital. I turned my gaze to Diorix, who was curled up comfortably in my lap like a big tame puppy. I had intended to kill him after finishing taking all of his possessions, but I cancelled my intention. Instead of taking all his wealth, I can make him my gold mine. Besides, with his network, I can get information outside of Ironshade Town faster.
"Sir Diorix," I called out his name in a sweet voice.
He rose from my lap with enthusiasm and looked at me happily.
"What do you need, my queen?" He is still breathing hard due to the pain all over his body.
I moved my index finger to him towards me repeatedly, asking him to come closer and he immediately obeyed. I brought my face closer to his ear.
"Sir Diorix do you want to be mine forever?" I whispered.
Hearing my words a smile developed on his face.
"Yes, I want to be yours, my queen," he answered excitedly.
"It's a deal then," I said with a satisfied smile. My hands crawled to hug him while my tongue moved, licking his neck slowly then I planted my teeth.
"Arggg!" he screamed as he did not expect with my sudden movements, but even though he was in pain he did not resist and endured the pain. I flowed my power before I released my bite and licked the rest of his blood on my lips.
"Ugghhhh..." he kept groaning in pain, his hand moving to touch my bite mark. But soon his wound faded and turned into a symbol of a red bat wing. It was a demon mark from a succubus to signify her human servants, force him to be loyal to her and obey her commands.
After a while, the pain in his body faded and he returned his gaze at me with a smile.
"My queen..."
I replied to him with a wicked smile. Now even though he has his consciousness, but he only obeys me. I grabbed his chin and turned his face to me.
"Sir Diorix, I want you to help me find information about the Whitelight Family. Especially regarding the crown prince Reyn's activity." Rather than money, the most important thing for me is information about Reyn's Family. I have to make sure they haven't found my trace. Besides, I also want to find out more about Reyn, especially the reason why he ordered the alchemists created creatures like Andrew. Although from Andrew's story I can already guess that Reyn's goal is to make him a weapon, but I want to know why he needs it. When he attacked and took over my kingdom, I did not see creatures like Andrew with him. So I can only guess he has other plans.
"Yes, my queen," he replied obediently.
After his words left his mouth, a loud ruckus was heard outside the door. I turned my head to the door while Diorix quickly stood up and covered me, preparing for the worst. The shouts and loud bangs were muffled, the sound got louder and louder every second.
- Brraakkk!
The door opened roughly, cracks appeared on the hinges, along with where the door hit when it swung.
"Diorix!" Andrew shouted angrily as he entered the room, his clothes covered in blood, and so did his face. His tentacles that covered in fresh blood lifted, its tip swooping down like a snake's head ready to rip off its prey. His eyes glared at Diorix.
Diorix took an attack stance, but I knew he was in a weak condition. After I sucked his energy he had no chance to face Andrew. Andrew's tentacles stormed at him, in a flash, I dashed to cover Diorix and brushed off Andrew's tentacles with my claw.
Andrew looks surprised by my actions.
"Lilieth, why are you protecting him?" Disappointment seeped in his tone and his expression but even so, he still pulled his tentacles away from me.
"He is our friend now," I said.
"Friend?" he said, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He seemed to think for a moment before a smile developed on his face.
"Since Diorix has become our friend, may I ask him for something?"
"What are you asking for?" I asked, I just left him for a while but why did he suddenly make a request. Did he cause trouble?
But instead of answering me, Andrew bends his head, trying to cover up his red face and shy expression while biting his lips.
"He's acting weird. What exactly happened to him?" I thought.
"I - I want to--"
He was about to say something, but he was interrupted by a shadow that rushed towards us.
