Chapter 9: Demon Girl’s Infiltration and Arrival at the Time Realm
As part of her plan, Demon Girl changed everything about herself—her name to Mia, her hair now a midnight black, and her face altered to be unrecognizable. She worked her way into the Demon Army, training tirelessly and listening carefully. Disguised among the soldiers, she learned secrets hidden deep within the kingdom: about Kiki's powers as a Protector of Time and the tragedies of his past, and how her sister, Scarlett, held the pure blood of a demon while Kiki, no longer mortal, was made up of numbers alone. Her fury grew when she realized how much had been hidden from her, how much her family's destiny seemed bound up in lies, manipulation, and now… even time itself.
Late one night, as Demon Girl—or Mia—lay in her bunk, a sudden, searing light burst into her room, wrapping her in a blinding glow. The light lifted her from the ground, her form rising and disappearing as it pulled her faster than anything she'd ever known. Numbers surrounded her in an endless flow, twisting and shifting until, in an instant, she was standing in an otherworldly realm. Everything was sharp and timeless, as though existing outside of reality itself.
"Where… am I?" she whispered, seeing figures approach.
She was in the Time Realm, the House of Time, where time did not exist. In front of her stood three beings of immense power. One was the Time King, cloaked in authority, a being above time itself. Beside him was Anti-Time, dark and intense, with a constant shimmer as if reality itself was distorted around him. Finally, there was the most powerful of them all: the Time God, a figure of radiant light and impossible stillness—the very creator of time.
The King spoke, his voice echoing through the endless void. "Do you know why you're here?"
Demon Girl tried to keep her composure, though her heart pounded. "No."
Anti-Time leaned closer, his voice a dark whisper. "How did you discover the Time Realm?"
She took a breath. "My stepfather, Kiki."
The Time God's eyes flashed with recognition. "Kiki—the most wanted criminal. The murderer."
Sensing an opportunity, Demon Girl replied, "Yes."
Anti-Time's gaze narrowed. "Where can we find him?"
She lifted her chin, determined to use this moment. "I'll tell you… if you agree to train me."
The Time King's face darkened, his tone condescending. "Do you even understand who you're speaking to? I am the King of Time, beyond all time itself. And you… are nothing but a rebellious child."
Her gaze didn't falter. "I know Kiki, and I know how he's grown. You might want to reconsider."
The Time God observed her, a smile beginning to form. "Why do you seek such power, child?"
Demon Girl's eyes gleamed with a fierce determination. "Tell me, King: what would you do if Kiki grew stronger than you and took your kingdom? Would you simply watch, or would you train yourself to take it back?"
The King's expression hardened. "I would fight to reclaim it."
"Exactly," she replied with a spark of pride. "And that's what I intend to do."
The Time God's smile widened. "Very well. You shall be trained—but know this: if the King and Anti-Time fail to teach you, they will pay with their powers."
Anti-Time hissed in protest, his form flickering with dark energy, but the King, though furious, inclined his head. "Fine."
Anti-Time turned his gaze on her, wary and questioning. "What is it you wish to learn?"
She held his gaze. "I want to master rewinding, stopping, and moving time itself. And more than that, I want to move time… I want to take Hell out of its own cycle. To remove us from the binds of time."
The King shook his head, shocked. "Impossible."
But the Time God raised a hand. "No, King. It shall be done."
The King hesitated, casting one last look at Demon Girl. "Very well. Let the training begin."
