Demon Legacy

Chapter 13: Demon girl

Demon Girl's mind was a maelstrom of chaos, time and anti-time clashing in a deadly dance. Her body had mastered the essence of time, but her mind struggled to control it. The dissonance drove her to the brink of madness. Glowing veins pulsed erratically as she staggered, raw power radiating off her in waves.

The King of Time stepped forward, his voice sharp and commanding. "Demon Girl, stop this! The powers of time are not meant for mortals or demons. They belong to the God of Time alone!"

Through gritted teeth, Demon Girl snarled, her shadowy aura flaring wildly. "This power will let me reclaim the kingdom! If you want me to stop, you'll have to beat me—or kill me!"

The King's eyes narrowed, his presence radiating authority. "As the King of Time, it is my duty to stop those who misuse it. Beings like you—like your father, Kiki."

At the mention of her Step father, her eyes blazed with fury. Shadows rippled around her, jagged and restless, mirroring her anger. "Don't compare me to Kiki!" she hissed. "I am stronger than him. I am the heir of both the Demon King and the Demon Queen!"

The King's expression remained calm, though his voice carried a heavy weight of judgment. "And yet, like him, you let pride blind you to the truth. Time is not yours to command."

Her response was wordless. She lunged, tendrils of shadow streaking toward the King, aiming for his heart. He raised a hand, and the world seemed to halt. Time itself bent to his will, freezing the tendrils mid-air.

"You cannot defeat me," he said, stepping aside as the shadows struck the ground harmlessly when time resumed.

But Demon Girl wasn't deterred. She vanished through a shadow portal and reappeared behind him, a violet flame blazing in her hand. Her movements were blindingly fast, but the King anticipated her. Turning swiftly, he clapped his hands, creating a shockwave that slowed her flame to a crawl.

"Your flames may burn bright, but they are still bound by time," he said, his tone even.

Demon Girl's fury escalated, her aura surging with power. She summoned a vortex of shadows and fire, merging them into a massive weapon that pulsed with deadly energy. "You think you can lecture me about time? Let's see if your mastery can withstand mine!"

The King extended his arms, glowing glyphs and numbers materializing around him. "You have no idea what you've unleashed. Let me show you the difference between control and chaos!"

The battle intensified. Demon Girl conjured shadow creatures that attacked with terrifying speed, their claws dripping with deadly energy. The King countered with temporal echoes of himself, moving so swiftly that it appeared as though multiple Kings fought her at once.

Demon Girl's inherited flames flared as she wove them with the threads of time coursing through her veins. With a roar, she launched a fiery onslaught, her strikes accelerated to near-instantaneous speeds.

The King dodged effortlessly, bending time around himself to evade her attacks. But even he felt the strain. "You're strong," he admitted, "but strength without control will be your undoing."

Panting but unrelenting, Demon Girl activated her "Time Echoes." Three versions of herself—past, present, and future—materialized around her. Together, they attacked in perfect synchronization, overwhelming the King's defenses.

One blow landed on his shoulder, making him stumble. He grimaced but quickly recovered, summoning a temporal barrier that slowed everything around him to a standstill—everything except Demon Girl.

"You've forced my hand," he said, his voice echoing in the frozen air. "But even with all your power, you're not ready for the consequences of what you seek."

Demon Girl smirked, defiant. "Let's see who breaks first!"

With a cry, she unleashed her ultimate attack, combining shadows, flames, and time into a colossal strike. The battlefield cracked under the strain as their powers collided in a deafening explosion.

Both fighters held their ground, pushing each other to their limits. The King's glyphs flickered, and Demon Girl's flames dimmed, but neither would yield.

Finally, with one last surge, Demon Girl's attack broke through the King's defenses. He fell to his knees, his temporal armor dissipating, his breathing labored.

But instead of retaliating, he smiled. "You've grown stronger than I expected," he admitted. "But strength alone won't save you. Without control, this power will destroy you."

Lowering her weapon, Demon Girl stood tall, chest heaving with exhaustion. "I'll master it," she said, her voice steady. "And I'll prove you wrong."

The King nodded, his gaze softening. "Then let this be your first lesson: time isn't conquered through anger or pride. It's conquered through understanding
