Demon Hunter and His Cabin

Chapter 786 Poor Henrik

Henrik was running joyfully, using nearly all his energy to enhance the Axis Dharma Seal, making it impossible for the little ones below to see through his disguise.

"I still need to make some improvements; maintaining this posture all the time is quite undignified." He glanced downward secretly.

"Oh... that girl looks familiar. I've remembered, her name was Natasha, the one who hurriedly ran away last time."

"But looking at her expression now, she should be convinced that I am pure of heart. I'll wait a bit longer to let her come to me and apologize for what happened last time, and then I can..."

Round and round he went, but soon Henrik realized that things were starting to become strange.

Silence.

Extremely quiet.

The entire castle seemed to have come off the joyous waves, otherwise, everyone's expressions wouldn't be so surprisingly uniform.

Mouths agape and eyes wide, faces full of disbelief.

"What's going on?" A shiver ran down his spine as Henrik suddenly realized something was amiss, and he spun in the air, landing on the upper platform in a flurry.

"Wonderful performance," Roger said, clapping his hands as he went up to meet him.

"It's truly comforting; only when I see you do I seem to find that feeling from seven years ago."

Though the long-awaited reunion was delightful, seeing a friend who was still steadfastly walking the same dark path made Roger especially emotional.

"What did I just see?"

"Where's the unicorn? Carriage? Was it an illusion?"

Just then, the noisy sounds poured into his ears, Henrik's cheeks twitched as he immediately understood something.

"Damn it!"

"It took me seven years to get rid of the previous reputation everyone had of me, and now it's all ruined!"

"Where's Claudia? Why didn't she come with you?" Roger ignored Henrik's complaints, turning his shoulders around.

"Tell me, what has happened during the time I was gone? I get the feeling everyone has changed a lot, especially Amanda."

"It's strange, really strange."

"Heh, heh," Henrik chuckled.

"Talking about Claudia, three years ago she suffered an invasion, that guy came from her world, strange and mutable, nobody could detect the flaw."

"Compared to Claudia, that guy's disguise ability was much stronger, everyone was deceived by him."

Speaking of this, Henrik couldn't help but lift his head, "Only I discovered his flaw."

"You?" Roger scrutinized Henrik, "No offense, but right now you do appear quite weak..."

"Shut up, strength and insight are never to be confused, had I not discovered that guy's identity, the entire Kaer Morhen might have been facing a disaster."

"How did you find out?" Hearing this, Roger also became curious.

Henrik opened his mouth, but his expression changed immediately, "This kind of thing can't be easily told to others, it's a secret, anyway, it's no longer important now, you only need to know that I was the one who saved everyone three years ago."

"You wouldn't have..." Roger seemed to think of something, throwing a peculiar glance at Henrik.

"Used that method..." His tone stretched out, but his gaze already fell on a certain part of Henrik.

Even before Henrik could answer, Roger had shown a knowing expression.

"Clever of you, does that actually work?"

"The strength of that invader must be way above Claudia's, even if influenced by the world's rules, still only through some subtle changes in the process, it's hard to fathom, isn't it?" Roger pondered while watching the changes in Henrik's expression.

"Why think so much?"

"Quickly, get inside, everyone's waiting!" He grabbed Roger and walked briskly towards the hall.

"Are you sure you want to discuss this topic after we go inside?" Roger chuckled lightly.

"What topic?"

Henrik was still trying to explain, but he couldn't hide the guilty expression on his face.

"Since it's Claudia's invader, their power characteristics must be quite similar, and she's extremely adept at disguising... plus the influence of the world's rules..."

"By the way," Roger suddenly thought of something.

"Claudia became gender-fixed because of you, I remember they don't inherently have a gender in their race, right?"

"What about the imposter?"

"Is it female, male, or something of everything?"

"Bloody hell, something of everything!" Henrik's body jerked, looking at Roger with a mix of horror.

"Damn it, how did you...?"

By this time, Roger's speculation became clearer, he stepped forward, getting close to Henrik, one hand on his shoulder and his voice low.

"Let's make a bold hypothesis."

"He!" Roger emphasized the gender of the other party.

"In certain processes between you two, exposed the original form under the influence of psychological and physiological changes due to the world's rules."

"Am I right?"

Hearing the last sentence, Henrik fled away from Roger.

"Damn it, you were watching from the side at that time?"

Roger spread his hands, "I don't have that ability, nor am I that idle, but it seems my speculation just now was correct."

With that, he sighed deeply, looking at Henrik with a face full of sympathy.

"My friend, you're having a tough time!"

"Then back to our previous question, where's Claudia, where did she go?"

Henrik looked as if he had lost a relative, "He left after assimilating the invader's power, he gained a new insight, so he left me..."

"Now I don't know where he's gone either."
