Demi-human Girls Completion Manual

Chapter 600: 84. Madness Substitution (Two in One)

"Has the Snow Fox Species agreed to talk with us?"

Upon hearing Heidlin's words, a glint flashed across Valentina's eyes, but she maintained an expressionless face until Heidlin nodded in confirmation. She then looked at the Grey Bird Species Mark on the tabletop and instructed,

"It seems, then, that the fourth Seal is almost within our grasp... Starting tomorrow, let's travel towards Mia while investigating the circumstances of the Snow Fox Species. The Snow Fox is an extremely xenophobic race, their agreeing to talk must certainly mean they have a request for the Turand Family. Heidlin, make sure the family finds out more about this."

"Yes."

Heidlin bowed in agreement but didn't immediately leave. Instead, she stood grinning at the door, eyeing Mr. Fisher, who was seated across from Valentina as if fearing he might plot something against her. Fisher was indifferent, yet Valentina felt somewhat embarrassed upon catching Heidlin's intent.

She sighed and then turned to Mr. Fisher,

"Thank you for speaking with me tonight, you are now an official member of our team. The key to the Helldor Workshop is still with you, keep it. A Mage without materials is no good. Report to me weekly, and if you're missing any materials, I'll have them sent from home."

"Since tomorrow is also the day we pay our employees, although not insubstantial, it might be useless for someone like you, Fisher Benavides, whose name alone is worth ten million Narliou. Do you have any other requests? I will do my best to accommodate."

Fisher stroked his chin and fixated his gaze on Valentina sitting before him, while sensing Fisher's scrutinizing look, Valentina quietly placed her hand on her ring, afraid of what bizarre words he might blurt out in a fit of madness... Hmm? Why had she suddenly developed such a prejudice against Fisher Benavides?

"While I would never willingly walk into a trap for those ten million Narliou, I indeed have some matters on which I need Miss Turand's assistance... Some are hard to mention, but they will certainly aid this journey."

Fisher said "hard to mention," but his expression remained unchanged, showing no sign of such sentiment.

"Oh? Please do tell."

"I've heard that the Northern Realm has many unique demi-human species, if Miss Valentina is capable, please let me study them; it's of great importance to me."

"Them?"

Valentina's expression suddenly turned strange as "them" in the Northern Language had strong gender implications, triggering a sudden realization as she incredulously repeated the query.

Behind Fisher, Heidlin's expression too turned hesitant, not expecting Fisher to have an odd preference for female demi-humans. Yet, when she looked at Fisher's serious face, she suddenly felt that his study of demi-humans wasn't for those intents... But what if?

"Yes, I can only study female demi-human species, please forgive me."

"...I understand, let me think about it."

Valentina obviously shared Heidlin's sentiments, facing Fisher's earnest request she found herself unsure whether to doubt his intentions. If his purpose was genuinely for pure academic research, then why was the book over his chest always sneakily winking at her?

It was beyond comprehension...

Valentina seemed hesitant, but after a pause of a second or two, she finally said,

"There are many demi-human species like the Ice Owl Species and the Sheep-man within Mia. If you wish to pursue your research, there will be plenty of opportunities."

Ah, Ice Owl Species and Sheep-man?

Fisher suddenly remembered a sequence tag from a Completion Manual he had memorized — [cotton candy].

Within this tag were [Cloud Cat Species], [Snow Fox Species], [Moon Rabbit Species], [Sheep-man Species], and [Ice Owl Species]; if they could gather Ice Owl Species and Sheep-Man within Mia and include the soon-to-be negotiated Snow Fox Species, might he unlock the complete sequence for the first time?

"I greatly appreciate it, Miss Valentina."

Valentina nodded, placed the Grey Bird Species Mark into the storage bag on her wheelchair, and wheeled herself from the desk of the Helldor Workshop. After casting one last glance around the Helldor Workshop, she passed by the rising Fisher and approached the door, her demeanor calm yet moved,

"That's all for tonight then, Mr. Fisher, please have a good rest. Oh, and if you need to use anything here, please don't shift things about recklessly... I might come back to check from time to time."

"I understand."

Valentina's beautiful profile and her pale silver eyes darted a glance at Fisher behind her and then, with a smile, she nodded and left the Magic Workshop, heading towards her own room like a gracefully fluttering white butterfly, leaving only a hint of her delicate fragrance and Mr. Fisher and Heidlin, who stared at each other in the room.

Heidlin, arms crossed, gazed at the handsome Fisher in front of her, her eyes filled with an unattainable yearning, yet she said nothing, only somewhat perfunctorily bid him farewell,

"I still need to deliver dinner to the young miss, Mr. Fisher can arrange his own affairs from here on."
