So...as you all might have noticed, I recently took a sabbatical to try and get my head straight, avoid burnout, find my enthusiasm again, all that good stuff. I've been trying to decide what I wanted to write. A 'responsible' part of me thought to try taking on Demesne again at an angle, writing a Karina Gaiden story, and I might still do that... But I also wanted to try writing something new again, like Flipping Haunted Houses last year. Even if I don't finish it, the three months I spent writing it was let me stretch different writing muscles.

Hence, why I'm going to write a new story.

Now, a little villain monologue. This is a very old story idea. How old? Well, according to the word file I made when I first tried to write this idea, I came up with it on March of 2014. This idea is a sixth grader.

Originally, it was an idea for a fanfic I was writing at the time. However, due to where the idea went, i soon disqualified it from something I would actually write in the fanfic, as the story would have consisted of more OCs than actual characters from the fandom I was writing from, and I had a rule about that sort of thing: I don't do it. So I tucked the idea away, but like all nice ideas, even though I wasn't going to write it, I still ended up fantasizing about the scenario, as you do. However, after I stopped writing (my office drone phase was a very dark time), the idea sank down into my subconscious, near where I put my love for Escaflowne, my old OCs whose fandoms I will not name (let they who have not made OCs cast the first stone and be called hypocrites because they're obviously lying), where it lay in wait surrounded by all the fanfics I swear I'll get back to writing...

Fast forward to while I was getting dressed for an dentist appointment, I remembered the idea again, and the extensive plotline I'd come up for it, and realized that I actually had something usable and already sorta pre-plotted. And the more I thought about it, the more the ideas came back, and the more I thought about how I could file off the fandom serial numbers, and I was getting all excited...

So, like Carlo Zen and his 'totally no-longer-a-Nanoha-fanfic' about a flying magical girl that's basically a Gundam in human form, I'm going to write this now.

For those who don't want to know to much and just get a sense of what sort of story it is (or at least, what sort of story I'm planning for it to be), I'll leave a series of tags that should give you a sense of what it will involve.
