Delayed Transfer

Chapter 17

Mark checked the time and it was already three in the afternoon. He went and indulged himself in a good restaurant for a meal since he had the money then went to his work place. He talked to his manager John to advise him that he would not go to work anymore since he found a good online job. He could not just leave without notice since John had been very kind to him during his stay in the work place. John was surprise but did not give him any hard time and just congratulated him.
Mark also texted Sam, his co-worker and friend, of him quitting and told him through text that he can contact him anytime if he needed anything. He did not receive any reply since Mark was sure that his friend was still sleeping, but he was sure that Sam will contact as soon as he read it because not only they were co-worker, they were also guild mates in the MMO rpg that they were playing. After that, he went to the mall to purchase the most expensive gaming laptop that he can find and purchased the MSI Titan GT77 from one of the tech boutiques since he had been dreaming of getting it for quite some time. He put it inside the inventory in a private place then continue touring the mall to check what else he can purchase. He also purchased an ASUS ROG phone 6D to use for phone gaming. He then went and purchased some necessities like food and toiletries. He would have liked to do some more shopping but some of the things that he was planning to buy was big and bulky and his Inventory was already full. He called an Uber and went home. When he arrived home, he put all of the things the he purchased on the table and then he went and sat on the sofa. It was time for him to use his skill points. He needed a large inventory for all the things that he planned to purchase. Of course he would still prioritize his offense and defense.
It was around eight in the evening when he received a call. As expected, Sam called him to ask what happened and Mark said to him that he would not be able to say anything over the phone since it was very complex. He tried sounding mysterious to his friend but Sam just cursed him and said that he will go see him during his rest day. Of course Mark was not planning to share everything with Sam but he did plan to say some things. First, he needed assistance with the things that he needed to do before he transmigrates, and second, since they had been through thick and thin in their favorite MMO and were like minded in being an otaku, he cannot help himself in sharing some of the excitement that he felt with having the system with Sam.
Mark knew that it would be dangerous if his secret was leaked because if the government found out or even private scientific groups or something, he would be locked in laboratory and experimented on. But he did not care. There was only one year before transmigration, he had an alternate dimension safe place, an inventory and a way to replicate things. He would have also had the skills for offense and defense if needed since after only one day dungeon diving he managed to get to level eight. He was sure that by the time the knowledge about the system holders spread, he would have the necessary strength to protect himself.

After speaking with Sam, Mark continued looking at his System Interface. He also updated his new gaming laptop and gaming smartphone so they will be usable by the time he finished. He opened a notepad on his old smartphone so he can list his plans. Currently he had four stats from leveling up that he can add to his stats. He added a point to Intelligence and made it an even ten then two points to Agility to increase it to five and one to Dexterity to increase it to four. Now he had three Strength, five Vitality, five Agility, four Dexterity, ten Intelligence and ten Wisdom.
Mark spread his Stats points not because he had an obsessive compulsive urge to make his Stats even, although he did a little bit. It was because he needed to have the physical stats to exert himself in most situation while adventuring. Also, more than likely, having good physical stats would have made him have a fit body earlier when he starts exercising. Looking at his Status Window, he felt satisfied with his stats. He then switched to the Skill Tree tab to tackle the complexity of adding his eighteen skill points to his skill.
The first thing that he did was review what type of Skills he received when he leveled up past level five and he saw that there were a few additional new Skills. On the Space and Void Chancellor job, there were five new Skills. They were the following: Under Void Bolt, there were Void Slash and Void Push. Under Space Shield, they were Space Floating Disc and Space Platform Stairs. Under Replicate, it was Material Inventory Destruction. He checked Material Inventory Destruction since he was still focused on his Inventory due to his need to store things. Its description said that he can destroy selected items in his inventory that he put there and he will earn MP and materials for crafting. He used one skill point on Material Inventory Destruction to check its description. It was a good thing that it only required one skill point on replicate for him to be able to put a skill point on Material Inventory Destruction. It said that one kilogram of item destroyed would restore ten MP and possible crafting materials. The quality of materials depended on the quality of the destroyed items. It also stated that although he would be able to destroy replicated items, he will not be able to earn crafting materials, only the MP used in storing the said items. It also indicated that some of the materials that he could get were materials that he could use for Rune Inscription.
Mark thought that the Material Inventory Destruction was a very good skill because not only he can use it for emergency MP restoration, he can also use it for de-cluttering his inventory not to mention the crafting materials that he could get.
