Chapter 32: Detnerat`s weak point I
Taiko decided to go to the evening training with Ojiro after all. Something unusual was happening to Taiko's eyes today. Before the fight, his vision blurred for only a moment, but after that, he could immediately see Ojiro's every move. Much more clearly than ever. The movement of each feature, the contraction of each muscle. Thanks to this, he could easily read his movements and defeat him in a couple of blows.
The first fight, the second, the third... Each time it was not so funny, making Ojiro upset in his strength. Taiko dodged every blow with his tail, and easily parried blows with his hands and counterattacked, depriving his opponent of personal dignity every time. - It's like you predict my movements! What the hell, Taiko? Are you sure you were sick today?!
- Ahem. I drank some coffee. You know, I rarely drink it. Apparently the effect of caffeine took its toll.
Ojiro looked at him with distrust and anger, but he could not come up with another reasonable theory. Emotions got the better of the usually calm Ojiro. Taiko saw him so irritable for the first time.
-That's it! The lesson is over. - He quickly headed to the locker room.
-Oh, come on... - the door closed loudly, leaving Taiko alone. He was not very tired, and Ojiro could tell that his strength was at its limit and he was beside himself with hatred, apparently towards himself and his powers.
-Then home. I'll change at home.
At night, Taiko took a shower, spent a couple of hours learning programming, or rather the theory of how cameras and the city system work. He bought courses in programming in the field of cybersecurity. So he sat until late at night, until he wanted to sleep. He did not need so many hours of sleep because of HalfNomu Power, so he could effectively manage the extra hours of wakefulness.
By the way, the fund's shares really rose due to the mass rescue of All Might citizens during the collapse of the construction site in Musutafu.
...
The first problem was the lack of knowledge in cybersecurity. He watched many videos on how to protect yourself from detection. In the last stream, he was tracked by IP, and now he will have to use a VPN. As the conscious Samaritan from the video said, it would be best to write your own, if this is not possible, then buy a subscription to a little-known VPN.
- Write your own ... - Taiko was a complete layman in programming, even though he could basicly manage a phone and a computer. Somehow his hands did not get around to it. The Internet says that it is not so difficult, it is enough to rent a server. The main criterion is that the rented server is not located in Japan. - "It seems like a feasible task." But the conclusion suggests itself, he needs a computer, because it has most of the necessary tools for this.
Taiko was browsing through various websites, sitting on a bench, skipping useless botany and drinking juice. Having figured out the VPN, he continued to study the heroes. Why not the police? Because the heroes put much more emphasis on quirks, unlike the police, although they can also, with rare exceptions, use a quirk, but also a much more terrible thing - firearms. Now he was browsing all the posts about Ectoplasm, which, by the way, began to appear more often in his area. His quirk apparently allows him to create many clones and this could be dangerous. After all, having numbers, he can easily patrol more areas and pursue criminals, suppress them with numbers.
Taiko could still cope with several opponents in an open confrontation, but if there are dozens of them... As experience shows, in this case it will be much more effective to create a trap and lure them into a tight space. Strategic thinking was also his advantage over the others, thanks to which he has not yet been caught and killed.
Since the next class was gym, which Taiko always skipped, he continued to sit in the cafeteria even after everyone had left. "Finally, it's quiet." He hated competing in an obviously uncompetitive environment of underdeveloped students, whom he was many times superior to. It would be humiliating for him. Taiko himself was skeptical about school; for him, it was necessary to pretend to be mediocrity and everyday life until he was old enough. He just needed to sit out another year and not stand out too much.
Ever since the night in which he lost Kuinn, Taiko had been cursing All For One. In a way, Taiko was expecting a rematch and was preparing for it. Taiko was quite favorable to All Might. "At least All For One got hurt and ran away like a dog. Respect to All Might for that." he thought.
Ojiro didn't hold a grudge after yesterday, but he was still distant, so they didn't interact much today. -One day he'll understand that it's better to stick close to the strong, rather than feel sorry for himself.
-"You should have guarded this place better." Low crime contributed to the relaxed atmosphere for businesses, heroes, police and society in general. -"Ugh, Taiko. Trespassing on private property is a prison sentence of several years." He didn't care though. The thief was the one who was caught.
In the pitch darkness, Taiko blinked a couple of times and wanted to take out his flashlight, but Oneself demonstrated another function - night vision. His eyes immediately began to adjust to the darkness until everything looked absolutely gray, as if devoid of color. -"Holy shit."
He also managed to discern details in this grayness, in particular the security cameras located inside the warehouse. He had already been caught by them, but there was still a point in hiding. The later he was discovered, the more time he would gain.
Taiko was counting on finding a box with plates and taking a few from there. Contrary to expectations for a calm search, two guards nevertheless began to walk around the warehouse up and down. The warehouse looked like an ordinary building with a high ceiling and a smooth concrete floor. Many departments with pallets and racks reaching the ceiling. A covert and leisurely search could take a lot of time, but he now has Oneself, enhancing vision and concentration on objects, up to the level of awareness of the factor of quirks inside people.
After several hours of playing Hide & Seek with the guard, Taiko found the treasured boxes located on the very top tier of the racks. The name Detnerat Company on the outside of the wooden boxes gave them away, he had to look up at the top tiers for a long time, immediately after examining the lower and middle ones. And then, those were in the very corner, on the edge of the rack.
Carefully climbing up the metal frame, a little out of fear of falling, how much noise to make and at the very end of the sortie to create such a bummer on a flat place. The metal frame of the rack creaked cautiously. The first floor, the second, the third, the fourth, and finally on the fifth floor appeared...
Four 250-kilogram boxes with the inscription "Detnerat Company: Carbon Plates", and on the pallet lay covered pieces of something resembling black fabric. Having cut the covering cloth, Taiko tried to pierce this unique fabric with a knife, but it did not even leave a trace. He went through the knife a couple more times in order to check the quality of the material. - "What we need. Test drive passed."
He did not need so many plates and miracle fabric. It would be simply wonderful to steal it and sell it. Buyers through Giran are easy to find. Oh, Taiko did not even doubt that buyers for such important components would be found in the criminal world.
Unfortunately, he happened to find a label that apparently indicated that this product would soon be leaving the warehouse. Tomorrow morning, this product was to be loaded and shipped. Taiko couldn't carry one and a half tons of materials on his back. - "We'll have to turn off the cameras, turn off and tie up the guards."
Having written to Giran in a messenger that a truck was needed at the point. Of course, not forgetting to mention how much material there was, Taiko began to lure out the guards one by one. Loudly running the tip of his hunting knife along the crossbar, Taiko hovered right behind the pallet, like a spider preparing to jump on its prey. The high-frequency sound did not spread very far, but it was piercing and even the quietest sound in the silence of the night spread throughout the entire warehouse department.
The guard watching the cameras reported the sound to the patrolling district over the radio. Taiko hid, because before that the one monitoring the cameras hadn't really been monitoring them, not noticing Taiko running from pallet to pallet for two hours, knowing the location of the cameras in advance. He had studied their location earlier, while in a safe blind spot.
The radio of the closest guard came:
- There's some kind of extended sound on the cameras in the department with the shelves. Most likely somewhere between A1-A12, check it out.
- Yes, I heard it, I'll take a look now. - the plump man yawned. He walked along the shelves with a flashlight, passing the shelves one after another. There were 24 shelves in total, 2 for each department number.
Hiding right on a pallet inside a shelf, Taiko hid from the presence of the camera. Since it was dark, the camera couldn't record movement as well as in the light. It was necessary to neutralize the guard, but not the patrolling one, but the observing one. Therefore, Taiko began to regret that he had rushed to attract the patrolling one's attention.
