Chapter 43: More Threats
It took a while to calm and subdue the uprising tension within the little players that were present. Their eyes were fixed on Zakar as he stood above the carcass of Caslurk.
"Now everyone be gone!!! To your rooms immediately!!!" General Lemon thundered in anger and authority. Everyone scrambled away. Each not wanting to be a prey to either the General or Zakar.
Zakar sighed lightly and stared at the sky. He knew this was an ambush attack. At least he got the name of someone, Zermon. But what was he going to do with a name in a situation like this?
Whoever this Zermon was either working for someone or was a boss of his own. The thought of him being an agent made him more suspicious. Who would want him dead? And moreover why? Was there really a great fun in doing something so stupid?
Then his pulses paused for a while. He had to analyse this quickly. He had two suspects. First was the creepy Negative Entity. Yah. He had reasons to believe so.
They might have wanted him dead. Probably for meeting with the Tailors. Maybe they did not want him to know about them before being initiated.
But there was no clear sense in that. The attack made by both Justin and Caslurk was somewhat too organised. Justin had been skipping meals and nights. This was definitely what was keeping the brat way from home.
Moreover from all the information he had managed to gather, the Negative Entity didn't look like they were ready to give out their moves and identity easily. Attacking him with someone as damn as Caslurk was not going to be a gamble for them. Therefore the Negative Entity was ruled off.
Next was the Tailors. Not because it had started immediately after his return from but because they seemed somewhat secretive. In his suspicion he thought that they had attempted to kill because he was basically not he wanted.
But then they could have done this as a test to join the Tailors. This more sense and for now that was the best guess he had. If there was more then he would have find it. But first whoever this Zermon would be ready to receive the terrible news of the fall of Caslurk.
"Zakar." General Lemon called out lightly and Zakar tilted his head towards him.
"You have to come with me." he ordered lightly.
Zakar's jaw tightened and he turned around and noticed that Justin was laying partly unconscious on the floor. His blood seeping into the cracks of the hot ground.
"Why exactly?" Zakar muttered almost intimating. General Lemon stopped half in his footstep. He clenched his fist and a wave of smoke spoked out him.
"And what in heaven's is that supposed to mean? You are defying my orders? Do you really think I have time to spare!?" General Lemon rattle loudly. Zakar smiled.
"You see... that's the point. You would not have a time to patrolling along here. Justin was too injured to have used any speed spell to get to you. I've been thinking... when you killed that guy back then..." Zakar muttered slowly. General Lemon stared at him sternly.
"What about that?!"
"So let's be clear. Why exactly did you kill him? From here I can see that you are hybrid assassin. There no shame in accepting your wrong doing now, is there? It is just you and I, right? " Zakar teased slightly and that broke the straw.
"You fool!! I don't have the temper to contend with!!! You'll regret your actions!!!" General Lemon thundered in anger.
Zakar smiled lightly and sighed. He was about moving when he got a notification.
[Extraction Possible: Caslurk Vuln]
[Rank: S rank]
[Type: Flame Player]
"Huh..." Zakar muttered lightly as he turned back to look at Caslurk's body engulfed in his own blood.
"Hey!!! You are ignoring me?!" General Lemon thundered in anger and dashed forward with brutal speed, tearing the ground in half behind him.
'Wait. I can extract him? Like take him into am army? Something like shadow magic? How? I thought this was I Death Player and not a Shadow Player.' Zakar thought deeply. He was totally engulfed in his thoughts that he failed to watch General Lemon.
BOOOOM!!!!
The surface of the ground exploded into dust and the atmosphere thickened with the webs of dust. General Lemon stood at the other side smiling faintly.
"To think he was a D rank was a mistake. I guess that was why this attack was launched. To expose the freak. Damn you bastard. If he could not get past my simple attack, then i think it was a waste of time getting here." General Lemon muttered to himself silently.
Suddenly Zakar bursted out of the cloaked of dust, charging with brutal speed. General Lemon turned to find him few inches from.
And just as the crushing punch of Zakar was about to hit against General Lemon, a circular portal opened and it opened up behind him and the punch hit him off balance. The attack sent him flying to crash against the ground.
"Too bad. You are just a runt and runts deserve death." General Lemon muttered as he walked towards Zakar.
"Lemon!!!" a groggy voice tore General Lemon's senses and he paused abruptly. The voice was familiar and the person had called him without his title. He turned his eyes and it widened at the sight of who he saw.
*****
"Sir. Caslurk succeed." a thin voice called in inside a dark chamber.
"So Zakar killed him?" a man with thick and silk hair muttered. A long scar ran down his cheek and his hair ruffled in the direction of the faint breeze.
"Yes sir." the lady who had spoken first said as she bowed. The man smiled widely.
"Ok. So what do you think about this Urana? Isn't it great? Now we have opened him up. Isn't that pathetic? Haha..." the man said to a woman who was hidden by the darkness of the chamber.
"He would have to watch his back because many more threats would be on his back now. He's more powerful than I thought and will make an exemplary choice." she muttered summoning a dark purple flame.
