Death System: I awakened SSS rank System

Chapter 16: First Registered Kill

Justin waved his sword violently and it slashed through an Ash Imp. The cut was precise and the divided parts fell apart. A cloak of dust ashes circled in the air around it.

He looked at his system and noticed that it was still stagnant. There was no change in his points or number of kills. Everything was in stagnant.

'Fuck. I am sure I have killed up twenty of this creepy creatures but the damn system is keeping mute of my kills. What the hell is wrong?'

He turned his head to see Sera by the other side. A sigh escaped his lips and he looked away.

"Hey Sera." Sera tilted her head lightly to look at him.

"Have an idea why the hell our kills are not counted? Could it be a system glitch or something?"

FRR BOOM!!!

She shot at an Ash Imp and its ashes scattered in the air. The body sundered to the ground and dust cloaked the scene.

"You're asking me? You think I have an idea of that? I don't." Sera said coldly. Justin just stared at her.

"Yah. I know you don't but I was thinking—"

"Whether we know the reason or not, it doesn't change the fact that our kills aren't counted. We either figure out a way to kill them for good or we end up slaying up until our limbs get sore."

FRR BOOM!!!

Justin stared at her in shock. His eyes widened for a moment. Her actions were not what he had expected.

'She doesn't even seem concerned. Our system gave us time. Two precise hours to take down these things. If the time elapses I wonder what will happen. Are we going to die or what?'

"Why worry? This place is a mystery to us all. The best we can do is to follow the wind. If anyone from the other groups figure out a way to slay them, they could relay the information to us then we do it but if not, then we all lose." Sera reasoned out.

"What makes you think the other groups will do so if they find out how to deal with these things?"

"Nothing. They necessarily not need to relay it to us. We could all die here instead of being pawns and objects." Sera said and stamped her feet against an Ash Imp scattering its head on the ground.

Justin stared at her in suprise. His heart skipped as he stared at her and her statement replayed in her head.

"What the..." Justin muttered in shock and Sera stared at the interface sharing a similar shock.

"Did you do that?" Justin asked calmly while tilting his head towards Sera.

"Not an idea of it."

"Then if that's the case...does it mean... does it mean that one of those...one those—"

"—freaks did it. I can't say who or how."

••••••••••••••••

'Still wonder why no Imp has approached us. In there it is like a battalion of them. Fuck! What do we do?'

Then he felt his hairs go lighter. His breath paused and his senses related faster than expected.

"Myia we—"

Screech!!!

Splatter!!!

"..."

In that brink moment, he quickly shifted his body and turned around to enjamb into an Ash Imp. His fist was slammed against by the Ash Imp sending him skidding across the ground.

"Zakar!!" Myia exclaimed and rushed to him then she gasped.

"What the..."

His left fist had been detached from his arm and his blood was pumping out at a fast rate. Due to the pain and sudden reaction, Zakar could not even feel his handless arm.

"Zakar! Your left hand!!" Myia cried out as tears held up in her eyes. Zakar turned to look at his hand some feet away from his body. Fear coarsed through his spine and his eyes widened in horror.

The Ash Imp charged forward with speed and launched its weight to crash against Myia but she quickly shifted her body and missed the attack by an inch.

The creature crashed down against the ground and sundered. Zakar's eyes followed it. Anger flooded through him as he stared at the thing that had just ripped off his left hand.

He dived and slammed his body weight down against the head of the Imp and then...

SPLATTER!!!!!

The head of the Ash Imp splattered across the ground. Dust flew into the air and it cloaked the scene but Zakar persevered.

He sank his feet deep into its back and to his suprise the body scattered upon contact. It felt like a mould of clay breaking apart.

"What the..." Myia muttered in shock.

Zakar continued to crash his feet hard against the body. The body felt like a light paper and he crushed it hardly until it turned into dust particles.

Myia stared at him in shock and suprise. Her face whitened in fear.

"What the..."

Zakar turned to her as his breath was heavy.

"One kill?"
