Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent

Chapter 317

Kraken City...

Kraken City got its name after the battle between the massive sea monster and humans, in which the monster fell. The human later became known as the Human God, the first one.

Back then, the town that was located here had a different name. It was renamed as Kraken Town in honour of the human professional who saved the town from total destruction.

Also, it was his hometown. So, no one felt it was wrong to rename the town as Kraken Town, which grew into a city later on, which was also due to him.

No one remembers his real name anymore, and he was called Kraken for defeating the massive sea monster. Now, only a few people in the world even remember his actual name.

The city was not only famous for being the hometown of the first Human God, but also for its vast and high-quality sea resources produced every year. Unknown to the public, the city holds a large prison, where many dangerous criminals are held.

The prison remained a secret because it was built in the sea, not on the sea, but inside it, where no one can see it.

No one in this world would expect such a place to exist. Sure, one would think that secret prisons would exist, but not in the damn sea, where sea monsters roam. It would be easy for the sea monsters to attack the prison.

It was one thing if those criminals were dead. They were placed there because of the vile crimes that they have committed, but prisons have guards, who would oversee the prison and keep the prisoners alive enough to be useful.

So, if the monsters attack such a place, which was in their home ground, the winner would most likely be the sea monsters.

Even so, there was a reason why the prison was built there, Kraken, the sea monster that was defeated by the human professional years ago. Though no one knew what the monster really was, it was named Kraken, due to its monstrous size, and it was a sea monster.

Its body yielded a lot of resources, especially the bones. They were used as materials in a mix used to build the outer shell of the prison. Also, the prison was built into the hills by the sea, with a mix of monster bones; no one has ever detected the presence of a prison here.

Very few were ever authorised to enter the prison or even know where it was located. Only the first Human God, now known as Kraken, knew where this prison was. The other four have no idea where it is, much less how to enter it.

Even among the Alliance, very few knew about this prison's location. Many knew its existence, but its location was kept a secret to avoid leakage. Even the fact of knowing its location was kept a secret. The only person known to have the location of this prison was the Kraken.

The criminals that were sent here are the ones that society doesn't want to see ever again. So, it was kept a secret to prevent anyone from knowing and making rescue attempts.

---

Deep inside one of those cells, there was a man, lying on his back, without a fear on his face. The man was none other than the Supreme, who was imprisoned by the alliance at a high human cost.

So, of course, they wouldn't let him have his way or even get a chance to escape.

There are two bracelets on his hands, which are Anti-Magic bracelets, which deprive a person of anything related to magic. They not only cut off access to Mana, but also skills, and even attributes.

Items like this are not easy to create, but for people like Supreme, they were custom-crafted.

For weeks, they deprived him of everything that he was proud of and tortured him to extract the intelligence that the alliance wanted.

When the extraction was done for the day, he would be sent back to his cell, where darkness was his only companion. Even though that was the case, there was not even a trace of fear on his face.

As he was enjoying his alone time, there was a knock on the door. In fact, there was a rhythm to the knocks, two long taps and then three short taps. It was a rhythm he had heard many times since he was here.

"So, what's the news?" he asked from the inside.

"Just as you expected, my lord", the guard replied, "The cult is trying to divert the alliance to a different location. I believe, they would soon come to rescue you or silence you".

The guard was obviously working for the supreme, for a long time, or it wouldn't have been easy to bring a guard to follow him after he was imprisoned.

"Hmph, let's see what they would do. For now, the game needs to be played for a while. Whatever they do, it would try to do, it would benefit me in the end. Once everything was in order, there would be no need to be shy. The world would be mine", the supreme smirked.

Everyone thought that they caught the supreme, the man behind the Cult, but what they didn't know was that he got caught on purpose.

Sure, the shadow being caused his imprisonment, but getting caught was among his plans, as he had a few things to be taken care of, and they couldn't be done from outside. He needed to be caught.

He was just weighing his options, to get caught or not. Both have pros and cons. So, he wasn't afraid or angry about that, but the fact that he got caught because of someone angered him.

He could have escaped if he really tried, before they got him here, but he didn't, as he needed to be here. There was something he needed to do, and if he wanted to escape, he could at any time with the help of his followers, like the guard, who just relayed information about the outside world, and he was not alone.
