Dc: The Brother of Superman

Chapter 72: Grudges (3)

"The bad news first!" (Elder Janni)

"The good news first!" (Elder Ada)

Both elders responded at the same time, and like always, both had a different opinion on the matter.

*Sigh*

"The good news is that the condition of the elders and all of the infected can be reversed; as for the bad news, they cannot partake in the cleaning ritual anymore..."(Isaac)

These news shocked both elders so much that they stopped bickering and went silent for a couple of minutes.

*Sigh*

"The most important thing right now is to catch the responsible person for this and save our people (Elder Janni).

*Nod*(Elder Ada)

She just nodded her head at the word of Elder Janni agreeing with him.

"Very well.." (Isaac)

Isaac pulled out from his left pant pocket two silver rings, aimed them, and threw them into the containment cell.

"Vezati"(Isaac)

(Bind)

Immediately, the two silver rings launched themselves at the two demons, and before the demons could react, the rings expanded long enough to fit the torsos of each of the two demons.

They tried to escape the rings, but it was too late. With the help of the containment cell, they didn't have much room to maneuver, so it was inevitable that each ring put themselves in the torso of the two demons.

When that happened, strange runes and patterns started to appear on the bodies of the two demons.

"Gaaagh!"

"Raawwwrgh!"

The two of them tried to take the rings off their bodies, but it was useless. The runes started to glow, and the demons started to scream, but eventually the screams went silent.

*Bam* *Bam*

Both of them dropped to the floor exhausted, and they didn't stand up anymore.

[Master, there's something that you need to see.]

The voice of Ivory caught Isaac off guard, but the content of the message intrigued him.

(What is it, Ivory?)

Immediately, an image view from the top of the main temple was on Isaac's mind. The weird part was that around the temple, strange runes and patterns could be seen, and all of them were connected to each other, forming a powerful magic circle.

(Hmm, if I assume that whoever is doing this wants to free Trigon into this dimension, this magic circle is probably his or her main goal, but why hasn't it activated yet? Unless it needs a reagent...shit, their blood!)

"Elders, listen to me..."(Isaac)

His voice was more serious than before, which made the elders stand up straighter than before. Once their attention was on him, he continued with his sentence.

"I'm going to open a portal to the outside, and I want both of you to pick up those elders and go through the portal. A friend of mine will be waiting on the other side; please listen to him." (Isaac)

Both of them listened to his words, but it took a couple of seconds for them to decide whether to listen to him or go where the Azar and Raven were.

"Very well, Guardian, we will listen to you, but if something happens to the Azar or that girl, we will break your bones. Are we clear?" (Elder Ada)

Her last sentence brought some chills to Isaac's spine.

"Yes!"(Isaac)

"Good, let's go, old man(Elder Ada)

Both elders approached the two demons, and each of them took one, using their magic to make them float behind them. Meanwhile,  Isaac took four rune stones and put them on the floor at each cardinal point.

"Connecteu les línies dels rius del temps, connecteu els punts fent que l'espai es desenvolupi."

(Connect the lines of the rivers of time; connect the dots; make the space unfold.)

After completing his incantation, a line appeared in the middle of the runes. After a couple of seconds, the line expanded to the sides, making a portal big enough for both the elders and the demons to safely pass.

"Well then, take care of the Azar and the girl for us, Guardian." (Elder Janni)

"I will, Elders(Isaac)

After a brief goodbye, Isaac turned around and went upstairs quickly.

*******************

Having secured the culprit with her magic, Arella asked the most important question she could think of right now.

"Why did you betray Azarath?" (Arella)

The female demon stopped for a second, and disbelief was transmitted from her facial expression.

Then a look of understanding graced her face.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha, she didn't tell you, that bitch!" (???)

Her face scrunched more in hatred, but then she calmed herself.

"Then let me tell you a story of sacrifice, love, and betrayal..."(???)

Her story happened before the birth of Raven. Arella was brought to Azarath without the consent of all of the Elders; the most vocal about it was Elder Karl.

He implored the Azar to throw Arella out of Azarath; his argument was that the entity behind the birth of that demon child would seek them and then destroy them in order to get her.

Other elders believe that too, but their concerns and voices were silenced by the Azar herself.

"Did you believe that our guide, our master, didn't even listen to the concerns of her students and believers..."(???)

The only thing that the Elders could do was wait; if the Azar wasn't willing to listen to reason, then they would protect their beloved Azarath themselves, and so the promise day came; a baby girl was born a couple of months later, but the instant that she graced the world with her presence, the ever-clear sky of Azarath turned black, and rain and wind fell through.

The Elders knew that this was their sign, and with a more determined resolution, they barged into Arella's room. She was still weak by the birth and wasn't fully conscious. They took the baby from the Elder's hands, and they marched downstairs in the direction of the Great Door.

"They wanted to do what that bitch couldn't do; you were a bad omen, a being that will only bring destruction and misery.."(???)

She looked intensely at Raven, but then a fairy put herself in her line of sight.

When the Elders reached the Great Door, they performed the ritual to open it, but something bad happened. After the ritual was complete, the Great Door finally opened, but when they wanted to throw the child into it, a powerful and dark energy swept the entire room, only the ashes, and that baby was left.

"That bitch set a trap for Elder Karl; she killed him! She killed my beloved master! ...and you and that monster were allowed to live here!... bullshit! ...I waited for so long to get my revenge. The only thing I regret is that bitch died first!"(???)

Arella was calm; seeing the female demon scream and swear at them didn't bother her at all. After all, she had heard worse; her time in Azarath wasn't all that pleasant either if it weren't for the support of the Azar, some elders, and Isaac. She couldn't have taken the mantle of Azar that easily, but she could sympathize with her to a certain extent.

She was going to talk when a deep voice from behind her interrupted her train of thought.

"For being the one in charge of the library of Azarath, you sure told a pretty story, but I notice that you omitted the part where Elder Karl refused to listen to the reason why Arella and Raven were allowed to live here." (Isaac)

The female demon looked at the new person that came from the stairs, and after hearing his words, a look of hatred filled her face.

"Lies! That bitch didn't say anything! ...she lied! ...and you became her watchdog... I told you before that you shouldn't get too close to her..."(???)

She looked at Raven.

"But you didn't listen! ...and now you, along with them, are going to die!" (???)

Only hatred and swearing were coming out of her mouth.

*Sigh*

"I'm sorry that I couldn't see the great darkness that now filled your entire being...Miss Alice." (Isaac)
