Chapter 426: Great Artisan God
Bardi's expression was calm, but his eyes were sharp and fierce as he swept his gaze across the gods on the Wall of Origin. Some gods remained silent, some lifted their heads with cold, indifferent eyes, and some kept their eyes closed.
Finally, his gaze landed on the Pioneer God—the only god who had once believed in the creation gods and had since been severed from Bardi himself.
The Pioneer God radiated light and warmth, with a form that mirrored Bardi's exactly.
The only difference was that, unlike Bardi, the Pioneer God was not a being of pure life, but merely a construct.
"A brilliant calculation," Bardi said.
Yuga Khan also looked at the Pioneer God, a meaningful smile forming on his lips, his eyes cold.
Being the pioneer of all the One Gods was no honor.
Among humans or ordinary races, pioneers were needed to push the development of their kind forward, to blaze a trail. Pioneers were respected, revered, remembered by future generations, and worshiped.
That was the role pioneers played among mortals.
But the One Gods were not ordinary beings.
Anyone capable of becoming a One God was ultimately selfish to the extreme.
Even a One God like the Heavenly Father, who treated all beings with compassion and viewed the world as his children, was only fulfilling his divine duty.
If you thought he was filled with love, you wouldn't be wrong. He did have great love and saw the world as his children.
But beliefs, concepts, and ideologies—these were the cornerstones that elevated a god to the level of a One God.
For a group of unique gods, a pioneer was someone who tested the path ahead, gathered resources for the gods behind them, and strengthened their foundation.
How could Bardi be willing to forge a path for a group of strange and unique gods who lacked life and vitality? It was laughable.
The One God Herald had no personal gain, only responsibility.
Mortals worship pioneers, build temples in their honor, burn incense, write their stories into textbooks, and immortalize them for future generations.
But the gods? They would just push you to die so that they could live better. A pioneer could not be allowed to survive.
That's why Bardi had to sever all ties with the Pioneer God, to avoid being used to death by the One Gods. That would be a fate more tragic than slavery or forced labor.
The so-called "pioneers" were merely pawns.
"The Pioneer God cannot be destroyed."
Bardi's gaze deepened as he stared at the radiant being that looked exactly like himself.
This Pioneer God could not be destroyed.
Because even if it were destroyed, they could always create another. There would be no loss.
Endless time spent stuck to the Wall of Origin, the struggle to break free—this hope drove them to do whatever it took to escape.
Now, they were merely trying to disgust Bardi. They didn't care otherwise.
"Origin is just a puppet."
In the dry skeletal eyes of the Creator God, the hint of a transaction flickered. As he spoke, his words swept across the entire Wall of Origin like a hurricane.
Origin—a puppet?
Who could possibly use Origin as a puppet?
Origin was already the top One God of the first stage. Who had the power to enslave him?
"That's impossible!"
Yuga Khan cried out, his heart trembling. He couldn't believe it, couldn't even imagine it.
If Origin was already the powerful goal he had been chasing, who could possibly make him submit and use him as a puppet?
Clearly, there were ancient secrets that he and others did not know.
Bardi's voice was indifferent. "Tell me."
He didn't care much about Origin.
Yes, Origin was powerful.
But once you understood what truly existed, then nothing else mattered. Everything, including himself, was no more than an ant.
The Creator God looked at Bardi, as steady as Mount Tai. With his withered gaze, he turned to Yuga Khan and said, "The Monitor told you that Origin is bound to the Wall of Origin and cannot move. As long as you locate Origin's hiding place, you can absorb his power and become supreme."
"Yes," Yuga Khan answered without hesitation. He truly desired supremacy, to reach the Monitor's level, to reach Origin's level, to enter the first stage. That's why he agreed to the Monitor's request and opened a portal from Apokolips into the Wall of Origin.
The Monitor even provided him with Tenth Dimension Monitor technology, allowing him to walk along the Wall of Origin.
"Origin is resisting the Monitor outside the Wall of Origin, using power he learned from us to hold back the Monitor beyond the Divine Realm."
"Although I once said the Monitor was beaten by me, defeated and humiliated by many ancient gods, and considered the weakest among them…"
"But now, time has proven otherwise."
"He is the most powerful of the One Gods."
"Origin alone cannot stand against the Monitor."
The Creator God's eyes were filled with nostalgia, remembering the time when he had once defeated the Monitor.
Many ancient gods were saddened.
They never expected that the weakest one among them back then, so fragile he was like a baby, would become someone they could no longer even reach.
His path had gone far beyond theirs.
"So someone helped Origin resist the Monitor's entry into the Divine Realm."
With a bit of thought, Bardi understood what was going on.
According to the Creator God, Origin was weaker than the Monitor and needed the Wall of Origin to block him.
So the Wall of Origin was built for the Monitor—a prison to resist and trap him.
"Who?" Yuga Khan's eyes widened as he asked. The supreme power he pursued was merely for imprisoning the Monitor?
The thought made him tremble with excitement.
"The ancient gods once died by his hand."
"He once coveted the Monitor's technology and created the Mother Box—an artifact with vast mystical power capable of altering everything."
"He also combined Origin's power to create the Wall of Origin that has trapped us for countless ages."
"He is…"
"The Great Craftsman…"
After saying this, the Creator God closed his eyes, his desiccated pupils trembling with fear.
He could only say "the Great Craftsman," followed by two more words.
He couldn't say them.
He dared not say them.
"???" Yuga Khan and the other One Gods were stunned.
They were beings who had experienced countless things in the Divine Realm. They had seen all manner of divine figures and wonders. Yet they had never heard of a god called the "Great Craftsman."
What kind of god was that?
Bardi's heart trembled. His eyes narrowed as he quickly forced his mind to clear, daring not to think, read, or speculate further.
He knew who the Creator God was referring to.
As the highest self-awareness, that god was given the power to manifest his dreams.
He was God's Chief Architect.
He created the Multiverse on behalf of God, created everything. He was one of God's strongest subordinates.
The Great Artisan God!
Bardi shuddered.
For the first time, he felt that everything he owned was held in someone else's hands.
The Mother Box!
It was created by the Great Artisan God!
