Chapter 352: Superman, Lois
Emperor Building.
Bardi slowly opened his eyes and awakened from his deep slumber. He couldn't help but stretch his stiff neck and spine, rolled his shoulders, and let out a deep sigh.
He had been asleep for a full year.
He hadn't expected that fulfilling Batman's wish would take an entire year.
Even with the right timing and conditions, reforming Gotham into the ideal city envisioned by Batman and completing his final wish still required over a year.
At the moment of completion, Bardi passed on the Batman mantle to Nightwing. This was one of Batman's smaller wishes. As for other minor wishes, such as marrying Catwoman, Bardi deemed them unnecessary to fulfill. Though Catwoman later appeared by Bruce's side, Bardi did not grant that final wish—essentially leaving that part unfulfilled.
In that universe, after Bardi returned, Bruce's body had already disintegrated into countless quarks. Loaded subsystems began to spread across the universe, harvesting all the information that belonged to him, consolidating and enhancing himself.
Bardi rotated his neck, stretched and curled his fingers, and slammed his hand into steel, part of the metallic claws of the Emperor Armor.
Over the course of a year, Bardi's body had adapted to the magnetic field fluctuations from rapid expansion and transitions. Now, he could freely control the magnetic field.
He summoned Hera and had one of the secretary-type Heras equip him with the Emperor Armor.
Although the Emperor Armor was powerful in appearance, Bardi didn't like its design. Being enclosed in such heavy armor felt stifling.
Soon after, the women who heard of Bardi's awakening returned one by one, happily gathering to live with him.
The current Emperor Building was no longer what it once was.
Now it represented the core of the entire Metropolis. The city had been restructured, reorganized, and refined by Raven and Hera under the once-harvested Temple of Olympus, combined with Earth's tectonic plates.
At present, the entire state of New Jersey had become the Temple of Barmulodi, Bardi's dominion. It was vast, resplendent, and even more majestic than Olympus, boasting the grandeur and luxury of the center of the universe.
Earth had already become the central point of the universe, the nexus of all worlds, and the sacred land worshipped by countless alien races.
Throughout the cosmos, many races had already been conquered and spread by the Scourge, and they clearly recognized the sovereignty of His Majesty Barmulodi.
"Master, Volthoom has spread your name across the universe. Since the conquest of Oa, 780,000 alien races have submitted at your feet. Your presence has made the entire universe aware of Volthoom, and his campaign continues."
"The Monitor race appeared once, fought us briefly, then withdrew from this universe."
"What about the cosmic web that Brainiac was constructing?"
"It's still in production. The process has accelerated. We're continually updating the older designs, but completion is still projected to take over ten thousand years."
"That's fine. What about the Anti-Monitor?"
"His whereabouts are uncertain. He has begun to harness the Anti-Life Equation. He has also created the Mobius Chair and, sitting upon it, has destroyed several antimatter universes and entered the positive matter universe. He's begun wreaking destruction."
"Find him. Tell him I can offer him the blood of a true god and make him part of my bloodline."
"Yes, Master."
After learning a bit about his own universe, Bardi emerged from the new Temple of Barmulodi and began exploring Earth alongside his many women.
Earth had now reached an ultra-high technological level, with a meticulously planned infrastructure that had made its development extraordinary.
Aliens of all kinds, with various skin tones and forms, roamed the streets. This stemmed from the "All-Races Integration Plan" Bardi had implemented before departing to other universes, granting every species in the universe the opportunity to visit Earth, and allowing Earth to witness the diversity of the cosmos.
Under Pamela's lead, the group headed to the original Middle East, where they enjoyed afternoon tea.
Once a desert wasteland, this area had been transformed into a lush forest under Pamela's management and advanced technology. It became a haven for aliens who cherished nature. Pamela was revered among them as the Queen of the Forest.
One after another, Bardi took excursions—walking through the asteroid belt, inspecting Brainiac's cosmic network, and then traveling to Oa.
Oa had become the command center of Bardi's Seven-Colored Legion, from where he launched his conquests across the universe.
Although Bardi's reputation had spread, the universe was vast. Beyond the 3,000 known sectors lay even wider realms, still awaiting the light of the Scourge.
After meeting with Volthoom, who had returned hurriedly, and inspecting the Legion, Bardi issued new orders and allowed Volthoom to resume conquering other species.
It was worth noting that Bardi hadn't seen Kanna, as she and Tohru had gone on a rampage across the universe. They were currently hunting other Lantern Beasts, forcibly transforming them into humanoid forms, and were now... hunting the Black Lantern.
Bardi gave the matter a little attention but didn't plan to summon them back. He allowed them to continue their rampage.
After spending a few days with his women, Bardi once again fell into slumber and began descending into other universes.
...
The sky was clear.
At the No. 75 Aerospace Rocket Base in the United States, a massive space station rocket was being propelled skyward by its engines, ascending toward space.
Roughly 8,000 kilometers above the ground, with a sudden "boom," the rocket's propulsion system exploded. The nose of the rocket lost balance and began veering toward Brado City.
"What happened??"
"Engine overheating! Explosion!"
"Damn it! The rocket is falling toward Brado City!"
"Quick! Alert the Brado City government and evacuate the population!"
"It's too late! In about forty seconds, it will crash into the nuclear power plant!"
"Damn it! Of all places, why there?!"
"It's over!"
Ground control staff broke into a cold sweat, while religious believers clasped their hands in prayer.
At that moment.
High in the sky, a red-and-blue figure shot down, pierced the clouds, caught the plummeting rocket in one motion, and slowly flew it back toward the No. 75 Aerospace Base.
Superman returned the rocket from the brink, placing it back on its launch platform. As he did, the base staff erupted in cheers and applause, watching as Superman soared away into the sky.
In Metropolis, Superman streaked into an alley at lightning speed.
When he emerged onto the street, Clark had already put on his glasses. Holding a bouquet of bright roses, he walked down the street with urgency and a joyful smile. He arrived at Lois's apartment.
After knocking on the door, Lois opened it and accepted the roses with a smile. The two quickly became passionate. Clark picked Lois up, carried her toward the bed, kicked the door shut, and pressed her down beneath him.
Just as Clark was about to kiss Lois fervently…
Suddenly.
Lois put her hand over Clark's mouth and slapped him away with force.
"Get out!"
(To be continued.)
