Chapter 38: Kurama coming in clutch

[Fusion mode- Speed]

The second I reached the center of the roof, I changed Fusion modes.

I could feel my speed being amplified due to my unique energy now, which would take a while for Steel and I to control properly.

But against ordinary humans, that wouldn't really be a big issue.

"What the hell?!" One of the men shouted as they all pointed their weapons towards me.

"Hands where we can see them!" Another one shouted as he slowly began to approach me.

But I ignored him and moved at super speed, instantly knocking him out.

"Open fire!"

That didn't really bother me too much, since not only would the bullets not be able to hurt me, I was also moving too quickly for any of them to aim at me.

"We need to move, now!" I heard the smarter twin tell her brother, but she was clearly ignored as he pulled out a pistol and began firing towards me.

Obviously with me moving at super speed, I casually dodged everything since it was coming at me in slow motion and moved towards the twins.

To them, they probably just saw a light blue aura as an afterimage and I suddenly appeared in front of them.

Raising his pistol, the dumb twin aimed it right towards my head.

"Stop, you freak or I will shoot!" He screamed at me in fear, while sweat filled his whole face.

I grabbed his wrist and made him place the tip of his pistol right onto my armor that began to shine lightly.

"Shoot me, let's see who will get hurt."

"Your back, we can finally leave this place!" Naruto told me in excitement as I reached back to the coffee shop.

Hinata had already made her way back from her own shopping trip with some bags in her hand. She did mention that her main dress was being rushed to fit for her size perfectly and so she would have to collect it on a later date.

She was currently teaching Tom some unique knitting methods from the Ninja world.

How did the cat who knit yarn into leather not know this? I really cannot answer that question for you.

"Where to next?" I questioned the group who began to keep their things and get ready to move.

"Well." Naruto said with a thoughtful expression on his face, before he stared into blank space for a little while.

Right after that, his eyes lost focus, before quickly regaining them again.

It seemed as if he had just communicated with Kurama.

"We might have to go back to your hotel room for now, there is something we both need to discuss." Naruto told me

"Alright." I told him as I led the group towards a taxi. "What is it regarding?"

"Kurama said it is something about your system."

At the term system, Tom who was conversing with Hinata has his ears perk up leaning in to listen to the conversation.

"Oh, and what about it?"

"He mentioned something about energy sources…to be honest I am not too sure. Kurama said he will fill you in on the details later."

"Alright."

(Thea Queen POV)

I quickly got onto my motorbike to follow the group I was following, but I did try to be as discreet as possible.

The cat named 'Tom,' was just too weird for me to not learn more about.

I had to do a lot of research, even to the point of using Felicity to hack into some official databases, but Tom the cat was not registered anywhere as a pet.

Normally people get their pets chipped, or if they are as famous as Tom is, even getting official documentation.

But that being missing is not really weird.

The weird part was all the things this cat did, and most people just brush past the fact that it can do anything.

Being a DJ, being one of them.

Why does society just accept a cat being a DJ? I mean the cat could be one of the meta-things but still, I wouldn't be doing my due diligence as Blair's friend if I didn't at least know more about something potentially harmful.

To be honest, I didn't even know if a cat as cute as Tom could be harmful, but when I remember his expert shooting skills and swordplay I couldn't help but remember that the cat I was stalking is one dangerous being.

(MC Pov)

"So what do you need me to do?" I questioned Naruto as we reached our room.

"Grab my hand."

I looked at his raised hand for a moment and was lost in thought.

After sighing a little and not knowing what to expect, I shook Naruto's hand.

Right as my hand grabbed his, I felt a slight paw on my hand as well before my vision completely vanished.

As I regained my vision I found myself standing in a vast dimly lit space.

Before us was the colossal figure of Kurama, the nine-tails, his presence overwhelming and awe inspiring. His fiery eyes locked onto mine, and the ground shook slightly as he moved his massive tails around.

"Welcome," his deep imposing voice was spread into the surroundings.

"This is so interesting!" Steel said as he emerged from my chest and began looking around.

"How did we get transported to a whole different dimension? This has to go against some of the natural laws of the world…" He mumbled as he analyzed everything around himself.

"I don't remember asking the cat to come along, can you not do anything right Naruto?"" Kurama questioned Naruto who was just confused.

"I don't remember inviting him though?"

Tom just ignored the two of them and went exploring with Steel.

"So why did you ask me to meet you here, Kurama?" I questioned the massive beast as he looked at me with a slight grin on his face.

"You can relax, I won't do anything to you. I have quit my diet of humans a while ago." He teased me.

"I know that, but it still doesn't mean I can shrug off something as big as mountains just talking to me casually."

He seemed to understand that and move on with the conversation.

"When I shared my Chakra with you earlier today, I realized that a specific portion of the energy I gave you didn't fuse with you, and instead got absorbed somewhere else, do you know what happened?"

As he said that, something in my head immediately clicked and I felt as if I knew what he was talking about.

"I have some suspicions, but I am not 100% certain." I told him honestly.

"And what are these suspicions?" He questioned me.

"It might be similar to the time Steel and I sent Turbo Energy to the system, that was how Naruto was summoned. When that happened the system told me that I didn't have enough energy and shouldn't just try what I did without preparation."

"I see." Kurama said as he looked towards Steel.

"And how much energy did that require?"

Steel floated up, as he used his technology to scan Kurama for a solid minute before he finally came to his conclusion.

"Lucas can produce near infinite amounts of Turbo energy given enough time, and the system pushed him to his limit to the point his body was breaking itself down to keep up the absorption.

By my estimate, your entire Chakra reserve falls just short, and that is considering we have already waited about a month since the last summon."

"We can add in some Sage Chakra." Naruto mentioned from the side.

Kurama nodded as he explained, "You are right Naruto. And if you use our link, you can absorb more Chakra than normal too. With that, Lucas should be safe enough to gain a new summon."

At that revelation, I couldn't help but be a little shocked.

Normally, I would be prepared for a new summon coming into my life.

Once again though, this was at the time I least expected.

I mean the system literally had a mind of its own, so I didn't even know what would be summoned for me.

"Alright then, let's do it."

Since when was a new summoning a bit bad.

Authors note:

Can anyone guess who the new summon is ?

Authors note:

Unfortunately this isn't a continuation of the fanfic. I simply had a couple of spare chapters I wanted to upload.

I am currently trying a new project, which is basically my own novel but I will be uploading it as a fanfic since honestly I write mainly for interaction with people.

I write to share ideas and run through scenarios with people, so I hope you will try my new project out.

It is called "Eternal Heir."

Do not subscribe to patreon for this fanfic anymore thanks.
