DC Heroes in Marvel

Chapter 184: C160(2)

For Anton, cooperating with the Autobots wasn't just about forming an alliance. He had a broader plan: accelerating humanity's technological progress through Cybertronian technology.

Anton envisioned establishing a "Wayne Group" on Earth—an enterprise spanning industries like weapons development, biotechnology, clean energy, and more.

After all, Anton already had significant resources at his disposal:

The Autobots from Cybertron, Bruce Banner and Kurt Connors, Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, And even Norman Osborn, who shared a strong rapport with him.

Moreover, Stark Industries—now under some of his control—was another invaluable asset. With so many ready-made connections, Anton saw no reason to let these opportunities go to waste.

Meanwhile, at a seaside mansion in Los Angeles...

Beep, beep, beep, beep!

Tony Stark was engrossed in building his latest "big toy."

Since the alien attack in New York, which left him humiliated in front of the city, the nation, and even the world, Tony had been obsessively upgrading his Iron Man suits.

He was determined to enhance their combat capabilities while simultaneously rewriting Jarvis's core algorithms.

For days, Tony had locked himself in his studio, working tirelessly on his armor. Stark Industries, which he had reclaimed from Obadiah, was now fully under the management of his assistant and current CEO, Pepper Potts.

Aside from watching Superman once, Tony hadn't stepped outside.

Even Pepper was astonished by the drastic transformation—Tony had gone from a reckless playboy to a reclusive tech enthusiast completely absorbed in his projects.

"This might be the most astonishing transformation of the 21st century," Pepper often remarked.

To some extent, in the Marvel universe, Pepper wasn't wrong. Tony Stark becoming an introverted workaholic was indeed one of the most unexpected changes of the century.

Suddenly...

Beep, beep!

Jarvis's voice interrupted Tony's focus.

"Sir, Batman has appeared again," Jarvis reported.

"Batman?" Tony asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," Jarvis continued. "I intercepted communications between the military and the White House. Batman's name came up, and I thought you'd be interested."

Tony immediately dropped his tools and strode over to his desk. "Play the audio you recorded," he ordered, his voice calm yet eager.

Monitoring military satellite communications wasn't exactly legal—it was practically spying on state secrets. But Tony didn't care.

After the recent chaos, Tony had grown increasingly anxious and insecure. To cope, he had programmed Jarvis to monitor satellite signals, scanning for specific keywords like Justice League or Batman.

Jarvis didn't store every piece of information; it only flagged data relevant to Tony's interests.

"Of course, sir," Jarvis replied, queuing up the audio.

And just like that, Tony prepared to uncover more about the elusive Batman.

"There are survivors here... I'm Lennox. Just now, aliens invaded the base in the seventh area. They called themselves Decepticons and Autobots. It was the Decepticons who attacked us. Who saved us? Batman, cyborg, and those Autobots, who are the enemies of the Decepticons. They saved us."

"Decepticons, Autobots, Batman, cyborg... NBE-ONE, and the Allspark. NBE-ONE is the leader of the Decepticons—Megatron. He was killed by cyborg. Their bodies... they still seem to be under the rubble."

Tony Stark listened to these conversations, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. He turned to Jarvis and gave a direct order:

"Search for NBE-ONE, Decepticons, Autobots, and the Allspark. Don't skip military databases, including the Pentagon... and make sure to access S.H.I.E.L.D.'s general database."

"Understood," Jarvis replied, as streams of data began to flow across Tony's screen.

"Decepticons, Autobots... no search results," Jarvis reported.

"Allspark... no search results yet."

"NBE-ONE... NBE is an abbreviation for 'non-biological extraterrestrials.' Records indicate that in the early 20th century, a captain named Witwicky discovered traces of NBE-ONE in a glacier. By 1934, NBE-ONE was transferred to the United States. Further research reveals that NBE-ONE is credited as the foundation for modern technology. Integrated circuits, lasers, spacecraft designs, and even automobiles were all developed from studying it."

Tony's eyebrows lifted in surprise. Jarvis's final statement caught him off guard.

"The source of modern technology… was alien?" he murmured. "Non-biological extraterrestrials… So, mechanical lifeforms?"

Tony's eyes narrowed as he processed the implications, his mind racing with thoughts. After a pause, he issued another command.

"Jarvis, find the latest strange reports related to machinery or artificial intelligence—focus solely on the United States."

This search provided much richer results compared to the earlier keyword-based queries. After about half an hour, Jarvis presented his findings.

"The search identified one highly relevant report. It comes from the Los Angeles Police Department. Their law enforcement recorder captured an incident involving Sam Witwicky, who claimed his car moved and stood up like a robot."

Jarvis then played the recording, revealing a scene where Sam was surrounded by police officers at the station, recounting the bizarre event.

"Pull up Sam Witwicky's home address and any surveillance footage from around his residence. Focus on his car," Tony instructed, his curiosity mounting.

Jarvis quickly located Sam's address and retrieved recent surveillance data.

"Apologies, sir, but the surveillance information near Sam's residence has been deleted," Jarvis reported.

"Deleted?" Tony asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes. Based on nearby street footage, it appears Sam was taken away by a mysterious organization... Batman and cyborg were also spotted in the car," Jarvis continued.

"Can you recover the surveillance footage?" Tony asked calmly, though his interest was clearly piqued.

"Attempting recovery now," Jarvis said. "I've managed to restore approximately 2% of the footage. Playing it for you now."

The restored footage began to play.

In the first clip, cyborg was seen firing an energy cannon at a massive, hill-sized robot. The robot bristled with advanced technology and powerful weaponry.

Boom! The cannon blast collided with the robot, sending sparks and flames erupting across the screen.

The video froze momentarily before transitioning to the next clip.

This time, a yellow Camaro sports car transformed into a towering robot in the middle of a street. Standing in front of it was cyborg, who launched himself into the air.

Click. Click. The footage froze again.

The two clips combined lasted less than ten seconds, but they were enough to captivate Tony's full attention.

Tony sat in silence for a moment, absorbing what he had just seen. The revelation was clear: the Autobots were mechanical lifeforms—aliens who had integrated seamlessly into Earth's environment.

It all made sense now. He finally understood why military documents referred to NBE-ONE as the origin of modern technology.

"Autobots..." Tony muttered, glancing at the half-constructed Mark VII armor in his workshop. His mind was already brimming with ideas, inspired by the alien technology he had just witnessed.

Suddenly, the Mark VII didn't seem so impressive anymore.

"Jarvis, move the Mark 7 out of my sight and file the Mark 8 for the record. I've been thinking... that Audi R8—what do you think about turning it into armor?" Tony Stark's eyes burned with excitement.

It suddenly occurred to him: Batman has his Batmobile, so why can't Iron Man have his own tank?

"I think it's an excellent idea, sir," Jarvis replied.

"Very well. Show me the internal structure of the R8. I want to start designing the Mark 8 immediately. This time, the workload will be much greater than before... I can't wait!"

Tony grinned with enthusiasm. "Also, contact Rhodey for me. I need to see him."

Jarvis asked, "When should I schedule it, sir?"

"Tomorrow. Definitely tomorrow!"

After giving his instructions, Tony suddenly felt a sharp pain in his neck. He frowned slightly but brushed it off.

He opened the virtual design screen in front of him and began sketching with great enthusiasm.

What Tony didn't notice, however, was the ominous change happening to him. The blood vessels on his neck had started to darken—a clear sign of palladium poisoning.

The plot was progressing as expected.

Sooner or later, Iron Man would face another significant downturn in his life.

If Anton had been present to witness this, he'd have happily enjoyed the show. After all, Tony Stark's pre-Avengers behavior was far from pleasant.

Even after the events of Avengers, Tony only began to reflect on his flaws after experiencing the challenges of Iron Man 3, where he encountered Aldrich Killian—a man who had fully descended into villainy due to Stark's past insults.

Fate is fair, after all. Tony would eventually have to taste the bitter fruits of the seeds he had sown.
