DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 147: Chapter 147 There Is Only One Truth!

"You saw right through me."

As Secretary of Defense, Keller thick-skinned demeanor didn't falter. Instead, he nodded, a trace of respect in his tone.

"If I'm not mistaken, I do know where the AllSpark is."

"The AllSpark arrived on Earth approximately 10,000 years ago. It wasn't until 1913 that agents from the government top-secret Sector Seven discovered it. They recognized its significance because the hieroglyphics on the AllSpark matched those on the alien you call Megatron."

Keller explained patiently.

Anton listened intently, his expression thoughtful as he pieced the information together.

"The AllSpark emits a unique energy signature," Batman clone interjected at the right moment. "Megatron tracked that energy to Earth."

"Exactly."

Keller smirked slightly, a hint of pride in his voice. "We managed to isolate the magnetic field generated by the AllSpark. To ensure that no one—not even the Transformers—could locate it, we constructed a massive facility."

"A massive facility?" Jameson echoed, visibly perplexed.

Anton, on the other hand, wasn't surprised. He already had a good idea of what Keller was referring to.

After a pause, Keller revealed, "Hoover Dam."

"Wait… Hoover Dam is your alien research base?" Jameson exclaimed, utterly dumbfounded.

Built between April 1931 and March 1936, the Hoover Dam cost $49 million and claimed 112 lives during its construction. To learn it was designed, in part, to conceal alien artifacts turned Jameson understanding of history on its head.

"The Hoover Dam was the perfect location," Keller explained. "The base is embedded within the mountain. The walls are as thick as four football fields, making it virtually impossible for anyone to take the AllSpark from us."

"This is some of the most incredible information I've ever heard as a journalist," Jameson admitted with a wry smile.

It was clear that if not for Anton being his grandson, Jameson would have gone his entire life without learning such secrets.

"Very well," Batman clone said evenly, signaling a shift in the conversation. "That concludes our exchange of information about the aliens."

He then leaned forward slightly, his voice gaining a sharper edge.

"You mentioned earlier that there are other aliens on Earth. Surely, you must have gathered some specific intelligence."

"Indeed, we have," Keller confirmed without hesitation.

Keller nodded. "Agents from Sector Seven are currently pursuing the alien trail, and we've uncovered some leads. We found something in Los Angeles."

"So, we might need the Justice League help," Keller continued after a pause. "Frankly, if the military intervenes, it would likely involve heavy artillery, which could cause panic among the citizens of Los Angeles. If possible, we want to avoid that."

"Understood."

Batman exchanged a glance with Cyborg. "Then we'll head to Los Angeles immediately."

"Immediately?" Keller blinked, caught off guard.

"Just stay where you are," Batman said, stepping forward and placing a hand on Keller shoulder.

Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, the room was empty, leaving only Anton and Jameson behind.

Jameson stood there, stunned, staring at the now-empty space where Keller, Batman, and Cyborg had just been. Slowly, the realization dawned on him. Whatever technology they had just used, it had transported the group to Los Angeles in an instant.

Turning to Anton, Jameson expression darkened.

"Anton."

His voice carried the edge of a brewing storm.

"We need to have a serious talk about this."

"About what?" Anton replied, feigning innocence.

Jameson clenched his fists, his face a mixture of incredulity and exasperation. "Don't play dumb. You and Batman… clearly aren't the same person."

"You trying to gaslight me into an early grave so you can inherit my fortune?"

"Now, hold on, old man." Anton smirked, shrugging nonchalantly. "If I can become Batman in front of you, why couldn't I arrange for someone else to take the role in my stead?"

Jameson faltered, his brows knitting together as he tried to make sense of Anton cryptic explanation. Then, an epiphany struck him like a bolt of lightning.

His face lit up, and he pointed an accusing finger at Anton.

"Batman isn't just one person! It a whole group!"

Jameson voice was triumphant, as though he'd just solved the case of the century.

In that moment, he truly felt like a brilliant detective—a Sherlock Holmes figure basking in the glow of revelation.

Little did he know, Anton was silently marveling at the sheer extent of Jameson overactive imagination.

"Well, that… certainly an interpretation," Anton thought to himself, bemused. Watching Jameson smug expression, Anton decided to humor him.

"Spot on, old man. Sharp as ever," Anton said, nodding solemnly.

Jameson beamed with pride. "I knew it! Brilliant deduction, as always!"

Meanwhile.

Keller felt a strange weightlessness as the world around him blurred. In the blink of an eye, he found himself standing on a deserted rooftop.

The bustling skyline of Los Angeles stretched out before him.

Next to him was Batman.

The wind howled across the rooftop, carrying the cool, not-too-harsh rays of the late afternoon sun. Keller looked around, still trying to process what had just happened.

"This…" Keller murmured, awe creeping into his voice. "This is teleportation beacon."

The sheer power of what he'd just experienced left him momentarily speechless.

Keller was once again filled with awe as he glanced at Batman and Cyborg, his eyes betraying a flicker of strong desire. Yet, he quickly masked his emotions, regaining his composure.

"Wait here. I'll have someone pick us up," he said, pulling out his phone to make a call.

Ten minutes later, a helicopter appeared in the sky, descending to the rooftop where they stood.

"Where are we headed?" Batman asked.

"Sector Seven uncovered some clues," Keller replied. "With any luck, we'll find what—or rather, who—we're looking for."

Who we're looking for?

Batman clone considered the phrasing, fully understanding that "who" clearly referred not to a human, but to an alien presence.

The group arrived at a quiet suburban neighborhood in Los Angeles. The helicopter landed directly on the street, which was already cordoned off by Sector Seven agents. Residents had been ordered to stay indoors, though their unease was palpable.

Peering out from behind their curtains, many wondered if the recent New York alien attack had somehow reached their city.

Among them, a young man named Sam Witwicky was particularly anxious. He knew exactly why these people had come.

"My car!"

Sam bolted to the garage, his heart pounding. "Is it you? Are they here for you?"

The garage door suddenly gave way with a loud crash, forcibly opened by a team of black-suited agents.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Sam shouted, alarmed at the sight of the intimidating figures now standing at the threshold.

"Who are you people? This is private property!"

The lead agent, a man named Reggie Simmons—Senior Operative of Sector Seven—stepped forward, his face a picture of cold professionalism.

"Apologies, but we have authorization to inspect all items on these premises," Simmons declared flatly. "And if you have an issue with that, we can arrange for you to spend the rest of your life in federal prison. So I suggest you cooperate and answer my questions truthfully."

Sam jaw tightened, his growing fear causing his legs to tremble.

Suddenly, a calm yet commanding voice interrupted the standoff.

"Are all your agents this heavy-handed?"

Sam turned his head to see the speaker, and his breath caught in his throat.

Standing among the agents was none other than Batman.

"Ba-Batman?" Sam stammered, his eyes wide with disbelief. For a moment, all his fear and anxiety melted away, replaced by sheer awe and excitement.

It was like meeting his hero in the flesh.
