DBZ Goten : Become Stronger By Defeating Your Opponent

Chapter 143: Chapter 143 - Broly

Piccolo nodded as he took Pan from Goten's hands. When Pan saw Piccolo, she immediately beamed with a big smile. Seeing her joyful expression, Piccolo couldn't help but chuckle.

"Uncle Piccolo, Pan is more obedient with you!" Goten remarked, laughing.

"Of course!" Piccolo replied, a touch of pride in his voice.

"In that case, Uncle Piccolo, I'll leave Pan to you!" Before Piccolo could respond, Goten disappeared in a flash.

"That brat, Goten!" Piccolo muttered, shaking his head. He looked down at Pan, who was still smiling brightly up at him. "Pan, should Grandpa sing a song for you?" he offered, hoping to keep her entertained.

Pan giggled in response, clapping her tiny hands. Piccolo took that as a yes and immediately started singing, albeit in his gruff voice, "Go to sleep, my dear baby…"

Despite his attempts, Pan only seemed to grow more excited, her smile widening as she wiggled in his arms. Encouraged by her reaction, Piccolo kept singing, oblivious to his lack of vocal finesse.

Meanwhile, in Universe 7, on a desolate and harsh planet, a middle-aged man with wild, white hair and a thick beard, scarred over his left eye, stood against the strong winds. The planet, known as Vampa, was unforgiving, with a hostile environment and scarce resources. The man was Paragus, the father of the legendary Super Saiyan Broly.

Decades ago, shortly after Prince Vegeta's birth, King Vegeta had exiled Broly to this remote planet. Broly's incredible potential had threatened the King, who feared that one day the young Saiyan's power might outshine his son's. Enraged by this betrayal, Paragus had stolen a spaceship with his comrade, Bizz, and set out to find his son. Against all odds, they located Broly, alive, on Vampa. However, the spaceship had malfunctioned, trapping them on this harsh planet.

Over time, Vampa's brutal conditions had forced Paragus to make unimaginable sacrifices. To conserve the limited food supply, he had even taken Bizz's life. For more than forty years, he and Broly had survived together, isolated and struggling on Vampa, with no means of escape. Every attempt to contact the outside world had ended in failure.

Then, as if by some twist of fate, a spaceship appeared, gliding through Vampa's atmosphere. The medium-sized craft belonged to Frieza's army. Frieza, having witnessed the power of Goku and his allies during the Tournament of Power, had begun assembling new recruits, hoping to find warriors capable of challenging Goku and his friends.

Onboard the spacecraft were two aliens—Lemo, a slender man with yellow skin, and Cheelai, a thin woman with cyan skin. Both were members of Frieza's forces, dispatched into the universe to search for powerful fighters. Frieza had promised a significant reward to anyone who could find recruits with extraordinary strength.

Cheelai, seated at the control panel, sighed, her frustration apparent. "The universe is massive. Where exactly are we supposed to find these 'strong warriors' Frieza wants?"

Lemo shrugged, though determination flashed in his eyes. "No clue, but we'll have to keep searching if we want that reward."

At that moment, the radar on their ship beeped, indicating a distress signal from the surface of Vampa. Cheelai's expression brightened with curiosity. "Lemo, look! The planet below is broadcasting a distress signal, and it's registered to Frieza's forces!"

"A distress signal?" Lemo peered down at Vampa's hostile terrain. After a brief pause, he nodded. "Let's go check it out. Who knows? It might be worth the risk."

Cheelai set the ship's course, guiding it down through Vampa's thick atmosphere. The rough winds battered the ship as it descended, but it eventually touched down near the source of the signal.

"Is that…a spaceship?" Paragus muttered, his voice trembling with excitement as he spotted the craft landing. He immediately began waving his arms, shouting, "Over here! We're here!"

As Lemo and Cheelai secured the landing, a massive green creature with a long neck and a hulking body emerged from the wilderness, eyeing the ship like prey. Paragus's heart sank. If this beast attacked the spaceship, their only chance of escape would be destroyed.

Thinking quickly, he bellowed, "Broly!"

In response to his call, a loud whoosh filled the air as someone approached at an alarming speed. Paragus turned, spotting his son Broly—a tall, muscular figure with wild, untamed hair. Broly was bare-chested, clad only in purple trousers and a belt of green fur.

Without hesitation, Broly charged the creature, landing a powerful punch to its head. The beast screamed in pain, recoiling from the blow, and then scrambled away in fear, retreating into the shadows. Even though Broly hadn't used his full strength, the sight was enough to terrify any creature on Vampa.

Inside the spaceship, Lemo and Cheelai observed in shock. Broly's raw power was beyond anything they'd anticipated.

A moment later, the spaceship's hatch opened, and Lemo and Cheelai cautiously stepped outside, approaching Paragus and Broly. Cheelai's gaze lingered on their tails, quickly realizing what they were.

"You…you're Saiyans, aren't you?" she asked, her eyes widening in surprise.

Paragus nodded. "That's right. My name is Paragus, and I was once a soldier under King Vegeta. This is my son, Broly."

"King Vegeta?" Lemo repeated, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," Paragus replied. "You're with Frieza's army, aren't you?"

Lemo nodded. "That's right. But…how long have you been trapped here?"

"More than forty years," Paragus answered, his voice a mix of bitterness and pride.

Cheelai's face turned pale. "Forty years? Then…do you know that Planet Vegeta was destroyed?"

"Destroyed?" Paragus's eyes widened in shock.

"Yes, it was supposedly struck by a giant meteor," Lemo said, though he knew the truth lay in Frieza's actions.

"And King Vegeta?" Paragus pressed.

"He died along with the planet," Lemo confirmed.

A dark smile spread across Paragus's face. "Really? Well, that's wonderful news!"

Lemo looked taken aback. "Wait…weren't you one of King Vegeta's soldiers? Why are you happy he's dead?"

Paragus's expression hardened. "I was loyal to King Vegeta, but the moment he exiled Broly here, he became the one I hated most. If it weren't for him, my son and I wouldn't have been stranded on this desolate rock for over forty years!"

"Exiled?" Cheelai asked, confused. "Why would King Vegeta do that to Broly?"

Paragus clenched his fists, his anger barely contained. "Because he feared Broly's talent. He was afraid my son would grow powerful enough to claim the throne from his own son."

Cheelai's eyes narrowed, intrigued. "Talent? What kind of talent?"

Paragus's pride gleamed as he spoke. "Broly is a legendary Super Saiyan, a warrior born only once every thousand years."

Lemo's eyes widened. "A Super Saiyan? Wait, wasn't the warrior who defeated King Frieza also a Super Saiyan?"

"What?" Paragus's shock mirrored their own. "Frieza…was defeated?"
