Chapter 119: Power of the Cursed Blood
The {True God} lifted her brow at the teasing of the cat.
“Wha-” <Mother>
*BOOM*
Mother did not even get the chance to finish her sentence before her head seemed to literally vanish into a magenta explosion for a single moment. Beside her now stood the menacing figure of Lizzy who had already undergone a transformation thanks to her accursed blood. No longer was she the voluptuous beauty nor the majestic dragoness who had been finely crafted out of purple ice and pearl-like snow.
Now she was a monster focused on killing.
Her head now appeared as if she were wearing a draconic skull made from ice while those purple eyes of hersburned with the crimson flame of burning blood. That flame trickled down to form a cloak around her entire body. The mighty body now just like her face is adorned with frozen bones.
The gauze that once wrapped her fists now freely fell; a mixture of black, gold & crimson dribbling off the edges of the bandages. Instead of hands she now had menacing claws that were just as monstrous as that of Wrath. That beautiful teasing voice of hers was replaced by a guttural growl that caused one's insides to churn up like they were inside of a blender - her hair flowing behind her.
Unfortunately, as intimidating as she was, that attack ultimately accomplished nothing as the remaining body of Mother’s exploded into a countless swarm of leaves. The unthinking beast (already having those jade chains, that faded into the reality, wrapped around its neck & limbs to weigh her down) could only look around in wonder at the beautiful display. Only enhanced as the foliage began to softly glow golden with the radiant divine energy that they held within yet the beast didn’t get to admire the scenery for long.
“*sigh* Such a foolish girl…” <Tiny White Feline>
Lamented the white feline as she moved a paw to cradle her cheek.
Following that the leaves exploded out with lines of light that shot towards other leaves leaving the eyes of the flaming ice dragon. Within moments a cage of light was formed around enraged Lizzy nevertheless the attack was not over just yet. Soon the golden light shot out from the leaves to instead connect with the entrapped woman however it seemed to ignore all defence as the light flew into her.
That menacing creature soon fumbled as their eyes seemingly struggled to keep themselves open as the mature figure of Mother once again materialised. Walking out from a fracture that appeared - emerging completely unharmed despite having previously lost both her head & arm. Kind smile on her face.
“Foolish indeed~to think I am as inferior as my descendents who require their brain stem to be intact in order to completely regenerate ohohoho~.” <Mother>
Shaking her head with amusement clear in her voice.
“It was certainly impressive to break through my [Potential Scales] yet I am afraid that is as close that you will ever come to defeating me. I suggest you succumb to the sleeping spell so we can get on with our day as I have bigger fish to fry… Why not be obedient like the demon~?” <Mother>
Tilting her head so that her eye-less gaze could fall upon Vivi who was unable to break through the barrier put up around her. Infuriating the demon empress even more. Yet, as her anger rose so did her size, she slowly found it more and more difficult to move thanks to the growing mass. Soon (even if she could gain the power to break out) she would find herself unable to actually utilise such strength.
She wasn’t even able to summon her dharma treasure due to it also being too large to fit within.
Of course Mother just ignored Vivi now that she was incapable of resisting
“Now, even if you got a second wind, we both know that your life span is but a candle flame that is on the end of it’s wick so-” <Mother>
“I wasn’t talking about my little Lizzy~.” <Tiny White Feline>
Once again those perfectly shaped eyebrows lifted up in childish curiosity only to subtly shift into a more mature pondering look. It was a small detail that no one but Cheshire could notice. However, seeing that small chink in the armour, made that smile on the cat’s face also go through it’s own subtle change.
<I wonder if that excitable brat is still somewhere in there…>
Mother paid no attention to the cat (seemingly) as she turned toward the cage of light with her hand unconsciously dancing across the hilts of her swords as if thrilled with the opportunity to draw it.
Almost as if she was a kid thinking about what toy to play with.
The sight within the cage of light did change - strung up by the beams of holy energy was now dozing off due to the effect of the spell. Seeing this made the goddess quote disappointed. Hearing the words of the cat when combined with the child having her own blood… She did have some expectations that the young titan would struggle a little more than that.
Fortunately leaving someone blue balled was not within Elizabeth’s playbook.
If you play with her… She’ll leave you satisfied
As if she was about to collapse; Elizabeth slowly began to sway which wouldn’t be so unusual if not that she was causing those golden strings to shatter. Her arms fell lifelessly by her side, just letting momentum take them, as her head offered no counterforce to gravity. Despite that she released a far more dangerous atmosphere as she lifted her foot up, body falling forward, only to stop down to bring a powerful freezing energy that shredded the leaves..
In response that cage exploded under the assault. Afterwards her hand shot out in a similar manner to the little wrathful demoness when she wanted to summon her weapon - funnily enough a blackened shaft soon formed in her hand which she grabbed. A naginata with a mighty aura appeared in her curled icey claws that still dripped with blood; frosty steam fell from the intimidating black blade.
The staff itself was a simple black with a pommel made of gold sat upon the end however just before the blade was a guard in the shape of a dragon's head. From that guard came a golden engraving of an eastern dragon upon the blade itself that appeared unusually “empty”. As if simply waiting for something to fill his voracious appetite before it finally lashes out to gorge on anything that’s left.
This all obviously caught the attention of Mother who, until now, had never seen such a weapon so had no idea what it could actually be.
“Ara~ ara~ this is quite unexpected… [Death Beam].” <Mother>
Saying that didn’t stop her from lifting her finger up to shoot a beam of magenta & jade towards the head of her first child. Thankfully this unconscious state of Lizzy’s was more than capable of dealing with the lazer flying towards her - seemingly stumbling backwards just enough for it to miss her. The next second she threw herself forward while also falling to the side resulting in her doing a cartwheel in the air with her weapon poised to cleave the goddess in half.
Evidently that was nowhere near enough to catch the older dragoness off guard however the blade got stuck in the ground resulting in Elizabeth basically being swung around by it. Actually managing to land a surprise hit on the back of Mother’s head. Although it was clear by her face that the blow did less damage than the fact it happened did.
Moving her hand to slowly shift her hand towards [Forgiveness] (appearance being a bejewelled golden dagger) as she mercilessly swung backwards with a golden blade of energy flying out along the arc. Although Elizabeth had already collapsed to the ground but not before doing another spin, the blade became too loose and slipped out of the earth, sending her skidding across the floor. Essentially sliding tackling the goddess whose more orthodox method of fighting quickly proved to be too inflexible.
She wasn’t knocked over by Lizzy yet she still lifted her foot to not risk that changing. It was at that moment when another white flash erupted from behind as Mother raised her dagger to meet that white cat paw that attempted to claw out her trachea. Lizzy’s weapon soon swung to catch her in her back.
Stumbling forward and allowing the feline to grapple her wrist in order to swing her foot along to send a kick across the goddess face.
“Cha think I don’t know yar plan? Kill the cat, capture the purples and lure out the wolf in order to cage them which is all fine and dandy but… Cha never considered why the wolf is revealing themself nor the consequences of keeping the wolf in your castle of glass. I am the only thing holding the nightmares at bay yet cha don’t even realise it nyahaha~!” <Tiny White Feline>
White flaming cat wound formed on Mother’s face as she bit her lip and erupted into shards of glass.
“Do you know the difference between reality and illusions?” <Mother>
Her voice echoed throughout the space as she once again appeared in the distance from the mother and daughter pair.
“I decided upon what is reality while you can only choose to believe in the illusion which is in front of you.” <Mother>
Saying that she sheathed Forgiveness only to reach back down to Mercy as she got into a very familiar stance to everyone there. Slightly drawing her sword before sheathing it again. Along with the faint clack of her tsuba connecting with the koiguchi.
That cat was agile enough in the mind to jump at just the right moment however Lizzy was not as lucky as she was sent flying away from the quick attack. It was clear to anyone that she took heavy damage while already being held back by the chains that attempted to detain her. Those chains weren’t just glowing chains after all - those chains absorbed both physical and magical power while empowering themselves.
This was why they were so feared.
Therefore it was impossible to tell just how powerful Elizabeth should have been outside of her realm yet it was at least enough to make sure she wouldn’t have been hit there. Sadly reality was different so the dragoness found herself skipping across the ground like a pebble on a lake. Mother’s focus turned toward the cat who charged at her once more.
The goddess decided to instead lift her foot to catch that kitten on her geta. Claws meet feet as the two began to rapidly exchange blows at a pace that was impossible to catch up with. Woefully all good things must come to an end as the cat appeared in the distance once again with her cane appearing within her hands as she held it as one would when drawing a sword. A terrifying aura radiated out as that iconic smile of hers had never been wider - Mother quickly bringing up as many barriers of energy as she could manifest in preparation for whatever Cheshire was about to do.
“Let me hear their screams - bans- Can I finally stop smiling when I meet you… Mommy? It already seems like my work… Is… Done…” <Tiny White Feline>
Just when she was about to unleash her own dharma weapon she froze there, completely unmoving as her eyes widened with blood vessels visible while beginning seemingly talking absolute nonsense, only for her hands to fall by her side. For a moment nothing happened as Cheshire seemed to look at the floor. Still the goddess cautiously had her defences raised as she refused to let down her guard; not even noticing as Elizabeth slowly approached from behind.
Yet… Cheshire didn’t move as the white coat of impurity slowly blew away into the wind…
After a while it became obvious to everyone who was there.
“She… Passed away…” <Mother>
Somehow Mother sounded the most disappointed out of them all.
