daring love

Chapter 4: swept away

As I gazed at Michael, his eyes fixed on his phone, I couldn't help but feel a pang of curiosity. "So..." I began, clearing my throat to grab his attention. "What are we doing?"

Michael's head snapped up, his lips curving into a sly smile. "Can't I just spend some quality time with my girlfriend?" he teased, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

I blushed, feeling a flutter in my chest. "Well...yes, but you called out of the blue, so I was taken aback," I admitted, reaching for the glass of water the waiter had left on our table.

Michael's expression softened, and he set his phone aside. "I missed you," he said, his voice low and husky. "I wanted to spend time with you."

As he spoke, his gaze drifted downward, lingering on my chest. I felt a shiver run down my spine, but for some reason, it made me uncomfortable. I cleared my throat, and Michael's eyes snapped back to mine.

Before I could respond, the waiter arrived with our orders. I had opted for a unique combination – risotto, carbonara, and galeto. Michael raised an eyebrow, amused by my eclectic choice.

"You're weird," he teased, chuckling.

I shrugged, smiling. "Hey, I like what I like."

Michael had chosen a more traditional route – pasta, eggplant parmesan, and arugula salad. We thanked the waiter and dug into our meals.

The food was exquisite, and we savored each bite in comfortable silence. As we ate, I couldn't help but steal glances at Michael. He looked handsome in the dim lighting, his hazel eyes sparkling with warmth.

As we finished our meals, Michael reached across the table and took my hand. "I'm glad we did this," he said, his voice sincere.

I smiled, feeling a sense of happiness wash over me. "Me too."

The waiter arrived to clear our plates, and Michael asked for the check. As we waited, he leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving mine.

"I have a surprise for you," he said, a sly grin spreading across his face.

My curiosity was piqued, but before I could ask any questions, the waiter returned with the check. Michael paid, and we left the restaurant, strolling hand in hand into the crisp evening air.

The surprise turned out to be a romantic walk along the riverfront. The stars twinkled above, and the sound of the water lapping against the shore created a soothing melody.

As we walked, Michael told me about his day, sharing stories and anecdotes that made me laugh. I felt carefree and happy, enjoying the peacefulness of the moment.

Eventually, we found ourselves at a small park, where a group of musicians were playing a lively tune. Michael pulled me into his arms, and we swayed to the music, lost in our own little world.

As we strolled along the riverfront, Michael told me about his day, sharing stories about his business enterprise. He spoke about the challenges he faced, the triumphs he achieved, and the people he met. I listened intently, fascinated by his passion and dedication.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the city, Michael's expression turned serious. He stopped walking and turned to face me, his eyes burning with intensity.

"I had a tough meeting today," he said, his voice low and husky. "One of our major clients was threatening to pull out, and I had to negotiate to keep them on board."

I nodded sympathetically, feeling a surge of admiration for Michael's business acumen. "How did it go?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.

Michael's eyes locked onto mine, and he took a step closer. "Let's just say I had to use all my charm and persuasion to win them over."

His voice was laced with a hint of seduction, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. Suddenly, the air around us seemed to charged with electricity.

Without another word, Michael reached out and pulled me into his arms. His lips crashed down on mine, and I felt myself melting into his kiss. The world around us faded away, leaving only the two of us, lost in the passion of the moment.

As we stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the stars twinkling above us, I knew that this was what I wanted – to be with Michael, to feel his love and passion, to be swept away by the tide of our desire.

And as we deepened the kiss, I felt myself surrendering to the moment, letting go of all my inhibitions and allowing myself to be consumed by the fire that burned between us.
