Chapter 192: Insane magic items
Orsted and loki familia members moved swiftly, but the demi spirits recovered faster.
Before they reached the demi spirits, their wounds healed, and they summoned vines from the ground, forming a barrier that split the battlefield.
One demi spirit began chanting magic, while the other wielded massive branches, attacking like a dense blanket of spears.
Such an onslaught was inescapable for non-High Class adventurers.
But for loki familia, it was trivial.
They could dodge with ease, yet they ignored the vines and branches.
The magic fluctuations behind the barrier were peaking.
As expected, a chilling wind swept over, freezing the vines and branches into ice sculptures, crashing into the vine wall.
In an instant, the massive tree wall was frozen.
Riveria, stunned, stared at her palm.
"My magic's at least 50% stronger," she murmured.
She recalled Orsted's words when she touched his hand.
"Orsted's made an incredible magic item," she thought.
"Even my magic's this potent."
Then, Lefiya's voice rang out.
"Unleashed beam of light, limbs of the holy tree, you are the master archer! Pierce, arrow of absolute accuracy! Arc Ray!"
A blazing inferno erupted from her magic circle, arcing toward the demi spirits.
Riveria squinted.
Lefiya's magic, nearing Level 5, had jumped a level.
If only I could have Orsted's Mages Medal, she mused, but knew he'd reserve it for his Familia.
She turned to the chanting demi spirit, her cloak billowing, a faint magic circle glowing beneath her as she gathered power.
"Lefiya, cover me," Riveria ordered, sprinting toward Finn's group.
"Yes, Lady Riveria!" Lefiya, understanding Riveria's intentions, followed, using her newly learned concurrent chanting.
Finn, noticing Riveria, smirked.
Years of adventuring together meant she anticipated his needs without orders.
Ahead, Finn and Gareth reached the frozen vine wall.
In the Anime, the wall was tough, resisting Ais's Desperate and requiring Gareth to break through.
Now, frozen by Riveria's enhanced Fimbulvetr, it was brittle.
Boosted by Orsted's magic items, Finn and Gareth shattered it with a charge, opening a wide passage.
The demi spirit's planned ambush failed.
Orsted and the others followed, charging the front demi spirit unimpeded.
It's thick, sharp vines attacked, but they sliced them apart effortlessly.
With Orsted's magic items, Finn's team was formidable.
At this rate, they'd reach the front demi spirit in under thirty seconds.
But they retreated in unison, needing no command from Finn.
The chanting demi spirit's magic was nearing completion, its fluctuations terrifying.
Defense was critical.
Riveria joined them to cast a defensive spell.
"Unfurl, forest barrier! Sanctuary of the woodland fairies, grant us your protection! Veil of the Sanctuary, Via Shilheim!" Riveria chanted.
As her chant and the demi spirit's finished, meteorites rained from the sky, but a golden, rune-encircled barrier shielded their group.
The meteorites struck, yet the barrier held firm.
But the other demi spirit's vines bombarded it like a storm.
The chanting demi spirit began another spell.
"Continuous chanting!" Lefiya gasped, Finn's face tightening.
"Riveria, can you hold?" Finn asked, eyeing the vines and the new chant.
"Without Orsted's magic items, maybe not. But now, I can withstand these vines and another round," Riveria said, looking relaxed.
Everyone glanced at Orsted, who smiled silently.
He knew the Mages Medal let Riveria endure two more rounds.
A fiery storm of purple flames erupted, rivaling Fimbulvetr's might, slamming the barrier.
It shook slightly, then stood firm.
Loki's team was stunned.
"Such terrifying magic, and Via Shilheim barely flinched!" Tiona exclaimed.
"Orsted, your magic items insane!" Finn said, awestruck.
