Danmachi: The Divine Swordsman

As Adrian and Ais fell to the ground at the bottom of the pit, Adrian quickly took out two of the Goblin Daggers, giving one to Ais and dual wielding two of them.

Adrian and Ais were surrounded by hundreds of monsters as they were attacked all at once.

Adrian began to chant as 9 coloured lightning began to surround him, displaying an aura of destruction and also alerting the gods on the surface.

"Deliver punishment on behalf of the gods,

strike those who have touched the taboos,

deliver heaven's punishment!"

Adrian sent out the lightning, destroying all the monsters on the floor, leaving it completely scorched, as the dungeon continued to spawn dozens of monsters a second, surprising the gods watching what is happening in the dungeon.

"Ais, quickly rush to the upper floors! I know you are worried about Riveria, but she is stronger than us, and the dungeon wants to kill me! The only way out of here is by making a path of blood."

Adrian began to quickly cut through the monsters, blazing a path in front of himself and Ais, telling her the situation.

"It shouldn't have involved you, as my adoptive mother who was a goddess told me when I was younger, I have been granted talent beyond mortals, possessing eyes of a divine nature that will only be awakened when on the verge of death."

The gods who were watching were extremely surprised, reading Adrian's lips as they could tell he was telling the truth.

"The dungeon should want to stop me from awakening my eyes by killing me here through any means necessary. However, my luck has always let me be in the safest situations, unless it is a situation that my luck makes turn in my favour, like the monster party when we first entered the dungeon."

Adrian then began to take the brunt of the monster attacks, protecting Ais behind him as they reached the stairs leading to the 15th floor. In this time they had killed about 10,000 monsters, with Adrian killing more than 9000 of them.

Ais began to reach the limit her body could withstand from dealing with so many Level 2 monsters, as her body began to fall.

Adrian threw out a dagger, killing a Minotaur before catching Ais with the hand he threw out the dagger with, pulling her close as he made his way up to the 15th floor.

As he set foot on the 15th floor, he quickly dodged to the side, with 2 Black Goliaths appearing, each holding a massive spiked club, both having an ability value of a level 5.

"Well shit. I guess we have a game of tag on our hands. Ais, I will protect you. Just trust me, we will get out of this alive, even if I lose a few limbs in the process. It's still a half finished technique, but it should work even without knowing a specific magic."

Adrian then began to infuse his mana into his legs, causing them to bulge slightly as he pushed off on the ground, speeding right past the Goliaths.

Adrian quickly began to blitz through the monsters, getting many small cuts in the process, as he was fighting through thousands of monsters, trying to escape from the Black Goliaths.

Adrian saw a rain of arrows coming towards him, as he began to infuse mana all over his body, greatly strengthening it, as he bore the brunt of the arrows almost undamaged, except for his eyes.

"Ah, guess that was their plan. Doesn't matter, I can just stimulate my potential better when on the line between life and death. I can also now train my senses to the point they replace my eyes."

Adrian said with a monotone voice as he began to get injured a lot more, moving through the different floors and being almost covered in weapons, as he finally adapted to being blind.

Ais and the gods saw Adrian with completely different thoughts in their minds.

'Is this what dad meant when he said a hero will come and save me?'

Ais thought, seeing Adrian covered in blood, as she felt extremely warm in his embrace.

'I need to find a way to get them out of there, they are reaching the 5th floor now.'

"Oi! Finn! Get down to the dungeon, Adrian and Ais are on the 5th floor and being chased by 2 Black Goliaths with the ability values of level 5s."

Loki said nervous, as she saw Finn return to the manor, yelling at him, which he immediately rushed to the dungeon.

The remaining gods had different thoughts, however, their common thought is none believing that they can escape alive.

As they reached the entrance to the 4th floor, they were stopped by the Black Goliaths.

"I guess that this is the limit of a level 1."

As the gods heard this they felt disappointed, feeling let down, before getting extremely excited as they heard what he said next, and the phenomena that occurred.

Adrian laughed while saying with a wide grin on his face.

"That is why! I'm going to surpass my limits! I'm going to be the person to slay the One Eyed Black Dragon! I'm going to be the person to defeat a god who is using their arcanum! That is why! Right here! Right now! I will surpass my limits!"

As Adrian continued to speak, stunning the gods with his words, his soul lit a spark that quickly turned into a blazing flame, surpassing the limits that he had reached.

"Ottar! Go to the dungeon and save these two if they are about to die!"

Freya shouted to Ottar who was standing behind her, twisting her legs as she felt herself become wet.

Back in the dungeon, Adrian began to use the regular heavenly tribulation lightning to singe all his wounds, closing them, before condensing the lightning into a sword.

Adrian dashed at one of the Black Goliaths, stepping to the side dodging the club that was struck down. Adrian quickly made dozens of slashes, slicing through the Black Goliath's legs, mangling them before jumping backwards.

Adrian dodged the club of the other Black Goliath, watching helplessly as the mangled legs of the Black Goliath rapidly regenerated.

Adrian quickly calculated how long he needs to use the heavenly tribulation lightning's special attack twice, and the cool-down needed, needing about an hour after each use.

Adrian raised his hand in the air, chanting quickly as multi-coloured thunder clouds appeared just below the 5th floor ceiling and above the Black Goliath that he damaged before.

"Deliver punishment on behalf of the gods,

strike those who have touched the taboos,

deliver heaven's punishment,

Heavenly Tribulation Lightning!"

At the end of the chant, 9 coloured lightning struck down at the Black Goliath, turning it to ash, as Adrian felt the immense drain of mana from using the special attack, quickly dodging the club from the remaining Black Goliath.

Adrian began to dodge the Black Goliath's attacks, harassing it and buying for time.

Adrian also dealt attacks to it whenever possible, trying to find a way to stop it from regenerating.

Adrian sent out a regular heavenly tribulation lightning, at a wound he just cut, singeing it, sensing the wound while continuing to dodge the Black Goliath's attacks.

After a while, Adrian detected that it didn't regenerate the singed wound, feeling happy, Adrian began to chip away at the Black Goliath.

After 5 minutes of this continuous chipping, Adrian's nerves were stretched to the limit, beginning to lose focus slowly.

Adrian dodged the club, slashing the arm and singeing it, before running closer to the Black Goliath, slashing its stomach and singeing it.

The Black Goliath currently is missing an arm, and is covered in wounds, that have been closed with burn marks.

Adrian dodged to the side, dodging the kick that was sent his way, before slashing the foot a few times and singeing it.

Another 10 minutes have passed and Adrian is wobbly when moving, with the Black Goliath missing his remaining arm and a few toes.

Adrian dashed at the Black Goliath after dodging a kick, before piercing it in the chest, destroying the magic stone, killing it.

Adrian then began to slowly move towards the 4th floor. When he got there, he found that the entire floor was filled with goblins and kobolds, deciding to use his remaining strength to reach the surface.

Adrian dispersed his lightning sword, grabbing another Goblin Dagger as he used it to kill the monsters in his way.

Adrian put most of his mana into his legs, dashing through the monsters and clearing a path forward, getting many injuries every moment.

'Faster!'

Adrian began to feel that he isn't going to make it, squeezing the remaining strength he has left crazily, struggling with all his might to reach the surface.

'Faster!'

Adrian passed through half of the 4th floor, finding that he is slowing down, adding the heavenly tribulation lightning to his legs, speeding up even more, becoming a blur.

'Faster!'

Adrian rapidly passed through the 3rd and 2nd floors, passing by the monsters on the way.

'Not yet! We haven't reached the surface yet!'

Adrian began to unsteadily wobble up the steps towards the 1st floor, running out of mana and delaying the onset of mind down as much as possible, running on empty.

Adrian reached halfway up the stairs, before tripping and beginning to fall.

'I guess that this is it. My body has no strength left in it. Hopefully Ais can get out alive.'

As Adrian began to fall, he felt himself being caught, realising that they were found by Finn.

'We're safe. I've gotten Ais out safely. That's good.'

Adrian then fell unconscious, covered in blood, wounds, dust, etc. and began to breathe weakly and irregularly. The fire in Adrian's soul stopped, returning to normal, but has permanently increased the strength of his soul.

Finn then looked at the bottom of the stairs, seeing Riveria also fighting her way out, covered in blood and dust.

"Riveria, why are you just arriving?"

"It's because I was dropped to the 25th floor, away from Adrian and Ais. I've been rushing towards the top, hoping to find them, however you found them first."

"Let's just get them back to the surface, and have them receive treatment, Adrian especially."

Finn said as he and Riveria took them quickly towards the surface, with the gods all having faces full of unconcealable joy, ecstatic at what they witnessed.

After about 30 minutes, they returned to the surface, quickly taking Adrian and Ais to be healed. 

Back at the manor, Finn was called by Loki immediately after he returned, with Riveria taking both Adrian and Ais to have a rest.

In a room, Loki was asking Finn about the situation of both of them.

"Finn, how are they both?"

"Loki, Adrian is out of danger for the moment, but the healers are unsure if he'll wake up. Ais however is fully healed, and was hardly injured, as if Adrian blocked all the attacks for her."

As they talked for a while, in Adrian's mind, he is going through a sort of trial.

'Where is this place?'

Adrian thought to himself, finding himself in a void.

"This is the void, a place of nothingness where only Supreme Gods and Goddesses can survive in for long periods of time, and Supreme Gods and Goddesses can let others live in for a short period of time."

"Who are you?!"

Adrian shouted at the sudden voice, seeing 2 extremely beautiful goddesses appear in front of him.

"I am the Supreme Universe Goddess, and I am the person responsible for reincarnating you in this world."

Said the first goddess, who looks perfect, with eyes that seem to contain the universe. With long flowing purple hair that seems to have stars within it, extremely plump figure, with also being extremely thin in the right places.

"I am the Supreme Spirit Goddess, and I am the person responsible for giving you the Eyes of the Spirit God, which is what your eyes are."

The second goddess said, who also looks perfect, with eyes that are similar to Adrian's but look brighter and seem to be attracting all elements to it. She has short multi-coloured hair, with the colours corresponding to the elements, with a slim figure and also being plump in the right places.

"Thank you for that, however why am I here?"

Adrian asked them.

"Because you are finally ready to receive our blessings, which we will activate for you when you update your falna, but will only be fully unlocked when you reach Level 2."

"Then what do you want me to do?"

The Universe Goddess told Adrian, which he asked another question to, causing the Spirit Goddess to laugh while responding.

"Because we have watched you grow up and know that we want you to fulfill your fantasies in your previous life. We just want to see how far you can go, and allow you to save and go to the worlds that you want to. We have no requirements for you, however we just need you to have fun."

"But I am now blind and have lost the eyes you have given me."

"Which is why we are giving you a special healing magic when you next update your falna."

After they talked for a while, Adrian's consciousness was sent back to his body, with him appearing in another space.

"It took you long enough to get here. It is finally time for you to enter our complete form, from me being absorbed by you and letting you finally awaken the Eyes of the Spirit God."

Adrian saw an exact replica of himself, speaking to himself.

"Who are you?"

"I am the will of the Spirit God's Eyes, with me only being absorbed by those I approve of, otherwise they will never be able to use the Spirit God's Eyes' abilities."

"Then, how are you going to do it?"

"I will just be absorbed by you naturally."

After they talked for a while longer, Adrian woke up in the Twilight Manor which is where the Loki Familia lives, and in his room.

"Ugh, what happened?"

"Well, you protected Ais from harm and slept for 7 days after being rescued. I'll get Loki and the others."

Riveria was watching Adrian, who when he woke up, went to get the others after giving him a glass of water.

After about 5 minutes, Riveria returned with Ais, Gareth, Finn, and Loki, who decided to update his falna.

Loki had everyone leave the room, updating his falna, which was completed in about 5 minutes.

Loki gave Adrian the parchment, trying to keep herself composed from what she saw.

'What the hell is even happening? Is Adrian the saviour of a world in his past life?'

Adrian looked at the parchment and was extremely surprised.
