Chapter 124: Back to work(2)
Amused at the special attention the dungeon showed me I walked down the rough stone steps into it's depths. The first few floors I ignored the monsters in entirely as they weren't even worth killing for my current self. In a way it was funny how desensitized to money I had become in the short span of just over half a year. Don't get me wrong I get WHY this was but compared to the start when five thousand valis was a lot of money to me it was not even worth the effort now.-
I could take a single commission now and make half a million or more with only a day or two of effort in total. Even the materials of these monsters were not worth my time at this point beyond experimenting with the ascensions for them. Shaking my head to removed these thought i focused on moving deeper and deeper into the dungeon cautiously. I knew better than to get lost in my thoughts in this place as monsters, robbers and assassins loved striking during those times. I reached the fifteenth floor in about an hour without incident thankfully and went to search for minotaurs.-
I found a small group of five about ten minutes later and five minutes after that stood over their corpses refining their hides and bones for my uses. Once done I systematically cut open the chests and ripped out the magic stones causing the bodies to burst into smoke that was absorbed into my tattoos. On the ground in their place lay my materials ready to be collected. I fused the bones together and put the resulting orb in the middle of a hide with the other hides and grabbing the corner tossed the "sack" over my shoulder and headed towards the stairs leading back to the surface.-
I didn't need much to be honest so five minotaurs worth of hide and bone was plenty and thus I had no reason to stay any longer. I passed a group of five amazons on the way back up and ignored the lustful looks they gave me as I did. There were few in the Orario who would fail to recognize my mask/helm or weapon at this point and as a race who valued power and talent in their mates above all else I was an ideal pick for pretty much any amazon. -
As a result I was not surprised by the blatant lust they showed towards me nor was I even flattered as I considered it a matter of course. I AM powerful and talented so it was only natural that the amazons would be interested. Besides that group though I only came across more adventurers towards the upper floors since they were smaller and had more people in them. Nobody really batted an eye as I passed through and soon I walked out of the dungeon and into sun again.-
"Collecting bones again? Should we expect to see some new of those little statues of yours then?" one of the guards at the dungeon entrance asked curiously.
I shook my head "No, this stuff is for a different project of mine. Can't say more than that though." I answered casually.
"Pity, wife and daughter gossip all the time about the things. Honestly don't see the appeal myself." the guard said with a shrug.
"Arts not for everyone, nothing wrong with that. It's just the way things are." I say with a grin and the guy just laughs and sends me on my way.
I don't get stopped after that and make it back to the manor in a short period of time. I let my return be known to Hestia but otherwise head straight to my workshop to get to work. Now you may be wondering why the fuck I need bones for making bags? The answer to that question is simple, structure. As I discovered in my previous experiments at trying to make a spatially extended bag just straight hide and cursed stones simply didn't work very well for holding cursed techniques. Don't get me wrong I COULD do it but it was just stupidly inefficient.-
No the best way I found to make bags into cursed tools was to add something to the creation of the bag that gave it a rigid structure. In this case I was going to use the bones to create an inbuilt lattice structure inside the bag thus making it stiff but perfect for a cursed technique. To accomplish this I sectioned off an amount of hide that I then shaped into a simple hollow sack of leather after refinement from me. Next I carefully wove the lattice of bone on the inside turning the final product into something that looked like a brown softball with a hole at the top. -
I had to be careful not to make the bone unsymmetrical or the technique would be more difficult to stabilize later. Once that was done I added the cursed stone to the bottom of the bag with a layer of bone to protect it from whatever was placed within the bag later.
'Now for the hard part.' I thought as I began to craft my restrictions and cursed technique.
Calling this merely "hard" was much like saying godzilla was a lizard, a massive fucking understatement even if not untrue.
I had to chose the restrictions for this VERY carefully and then order them just as carefully. creating the technique aspect was easy as I simply went with a simple [pocket dimension] technique or a space separate yet connected to the real world. In this case the inside of the bag was a separate dimension from the real world that was MUCH larger than the actual size of the bag. It wasn't exactly shrinking but to normal perception it appeared that way. I was ecstatic when the bag actually worked and doubly so when I could even retrieve the stuff I put into it.-
There was a slight downside in that I had to add limit the space in the bag as well as restrict the addition of still living things to it but that was pretty much it. My favorite part though had to be the anti thief protection I added to it that effectively caused the whole bag to self destruct if it was ever stolen. Adding the intent aspect to the restrictions had been a pain in the ass but I did it so the only way the thing got passed around was if the holder of it wanted to give it to someone else.
