Danmachi: Bell Gojo

Chapter 105: Vegeta's Defeat

The battlefield was a wasteland of shattered rock and scorched earth, the air thick with tension and the remnants of Vegeta's destruction. Bell stood in the center of it all, unyielding and calm as the massive Great Ape Vegeta loomed over him, snarling with primal fury. The Saiyan prince's red eyes burned with hatred, his tail swishing behind him as he prepared to attack again.

"You think you're something special, don't you?" Vegeta growled, his deep, distorted voice carrying an edge of desperation. "You'll regret mocking the might of a Saiyan elite!"

Bell tilted his head slightly, his hands still tucked behind his back. "Special? Not quite. Competent? Absolutely." His tone was devoid of concern, as if Vegeta's words were no more than idle noise.

Vegeta roared, raising a massive fist and bringing it down with earth-shattering force. Bell didn't move until the last moment, vanishing in a blur and reappearing behind the colossal ape.

"Too slow," Bell said casually, flicking his fingers in Vegeta's direction. A burst of concentrated energy shot forth, striking Vegeta's arm and tearing through it with ease.

The Great Ape howled in pain, clutching his mangled limb. "You... insolent worm!" Vegeta spat, turning to face Bell. His tail lashed angrily, but Bell simply raised his hand again, unleashing a flurry of precise energy blasts that struck Vegeta's body.

Each shot hit its mark, forcing the massive Saiyan to stagger and howl in agony. Vegeta's regeneration struggled to keep up, and his strength dwindled rapidly under Bell's relentless assault.

Finally, with one last piercing attack aimed at Vegeta's tail, Bell severed the appendage with surgical precision. The Great Ape form dissipated, shrinking back into Vegeta's humanoid body. The once-proud prince collapsed to the ground, battered, bloodied, and gasping for air.

Bell stood over him, his expression unreadable.

"Bell, stop!" Goku's voice rang out as he rushed forward, positioning himself between Bell and the downed Vegeta. "Please, don't kill him!"

Bell's gaze didn't waver. "Kill him?" he repeated, his voice low and deliberate. He stepped closer, his towering presence making Goku tense. The Z-Fighters watched in breathless anticipation, Krillin gripping his staff tightly and Gohan clutching his father's leg.

"Goku," Bell said slowly, his tone unnervingly serious, "why would you think I'd waste my time killing someone so... insignificant?"

The moment hung heavy in the air, Goku's wide eyes searching Bell's face for an answer.

Then Bell cracked a grin, his laughter breaking the tension like a thunderclap. "You should've seen your face!" he chuckled, clutching his sides. "Priceless!"

Goku blinked in confusion, then groaned, exasperated. "Bell, that wasn't funny!"

Vegeta, taking advantage of the distraction, staggered to his feet. His glare burned with rage, but his body was too broken to fight. "This... isn't over," he hissed before activating his ship's recall beacon. The prince disappeared in a flash of light, retreating into the sky.

Bell waved dismissively at the departing Saiyan. "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!"

The group gathered around Piccolo's lifeless body, their mood somber. Gohan knelt beside his mentor, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"Kami's gone too," Goku said quietly, clenching his fists. "Without him, the Dragon Balls are useless."

Krillin looked down, his voice shaking. "All those people... we can't bring them back."

Bell stood apart from the group, observing the scene with a detached curiosity. He didn't know these people well, but the weight of their loss was palpable.

Back at Kami's Lookout, the group was met by Mr. Popo, who appeared devastated. He led them to a hidden chamber, revealing a spaceship that had been left behind by Kami long ago.

Goku's face lit up with an idea. "Bulma!" he exclaimed, turning to Bell. "Stay here with the others—I'll be back!"

Before anyone could respond, Goku took off in a blur, heading toward Capsule Corp.

When Goku returned with Bulma, she immediately began examining the ship. "This is incredible," she said, her fingers running over the controls. "It's Namekian tech! I think I can get it running again, but it'll take some time."

King Kai's voice suddenly echoed in their minds. "Listen up, everyone," he said, his tone grave. "There's a chance to fix all of this. On Namek, there's another set of Dragon Balls. They're much larger and can grant three wishes!"

"What?!" Krillin exclaimed.

King Kai continued. "Namek is home to a race like Kami and Piccolo—the Namekians. But you won't be the only ones looking for those Dragon Balls. Frieza, one of the most powerful beings in the universe, is already on his way there."

As the group absorbed this information, Bell stood silently, his expression thoughtful. He had been quietly probing their minds, piecing together the history of this world. His six eyes glowed faintly as he delved deeper, following the mental threads back to their source—King Kai.

Through King Kai's perspective, Bell gleaned a vast trove of knowledge: the annihilation of the Saiyan race by Frieza, the tyrant's overwhelming power, and the existence of gods like Beerus, Whis, and even Zeno, the king of all creation.

Bell's lips curved into a faint smile as he withdrew from the link. "Interesting," he muttered to himself. "This universe is far more intricate than I expected."

He kept his revelations to himself. The Z-Fighters already had enough on their plate, and Bell saw no need to burden them further.

As Bulma continued her work on the ship, the group prepared for their journey to Namek. Bell observed them with quiet amusement, curious to see how these mortals would face the challenges ahead.

"Looks like this adventure just got a lot more interesting," Bell said, a hint of anticipation in his voice.
