Chapter 145: Light and Dark Dimensions
Bell and Anakin stood on the bridge of their Republic frigate, gazing at the starfield ahead. The mission was clear: secure a strategic hyperspace lane near Korriban to prevent rogue factions from using it to their advantage.
Korriban, the ancient Sith homeworld, loomed in the background as their ship dropped out of hyperspace. Anakin leaned forward, his expression filled with curiosity.
"I've read about this place," he said. "It's supposed to be drenched in the Dark Side of the Force."
Bell smirked. "And here I thought you didn't like studying history."
Anakin rolled his eyes. "I pay attention when it's interesting."
Before Bell could respond, alarms blared. A squadron of enemy ships appeared on the scanners, and the frigate's captain barked orders. Bell and Anakin rushed to their starfighters, eager to engage.
The battle was intense. Anakin's fighter darted through the chaos with precision, taking out enemy ships left and right. Bell, however, felt an unusual pull in the Force.
He paused mid-dogfight, his senses overwhelmed by a sudden shift. Before he could react, a wave of red energy enveloped him, yanking him from his cockpit.
The world around him dissolved into darkness, replaced by an oppressive crimson haze. The air was thick, charged with malice and power. Bell found himself standing on a jagged, alien terrain—a place that pulsed with the Dark Side of the Force.
"This is… new," Bell muttered, his six eyes scanning the environment.
The ground beneath him seemed alive, shifting and writhing as if it had a will of its own. The sky was an unending swirl of black and red, and the air crackled with unseen energy. Bell could feel the Dark Side pressing against him, whispering promises of power.
But then, amidst the overwhelming darkness, he sensed something else—a faint, elusive presence. It was calm and serene, a stark contrast to the malice surrounding him.
"Light?" Bell murmured, intrigued.
He closed his eyes and reached out with the Force, allowing himself to become one with the environment. Slowly, he began to sync with the Dark Side, feeling its power course through him. Yet, as he delved deeper, he also drew on the Light, finding a delicate balance between the two.
The world around him shifted, colors blending and swirling until it split. Half the realm turned a brilliant white and blue, radiating the Light Side's essence, while the other half remained dark and red, pulsating with the Dark Side.
Bell stood at the intersection, his mind and body harmonizing with both energies.
"This is what balance feels like," he whispered, a newfound understanding washing over him.
In an instant, Bell felt himself pulled back to the physical world. He reappeared in the midst of the space battle, instinctively using the Force to "Fold Space" and teleport into the heart of the enemy formation.
His lightsaber ignited, glowing with an intensified white-blue hue, as he moved like a storm through the enemy ranks. Ships crumbled and exploded around him, their pilots unable to match his speed and power.
Within moments, the battle was over. Bell teleported back to Anakin's side, who had landed his fighter on the frigate and was now staring at Bell with his jaw practically on the floor.
Explaining the Unexplainable
"What… was… that?!" Anakin demanded, his voice a mixture of awe and jealousy.
Bell smirked, deactivating his lightsaber. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Try me."
Bell sat down on a nearby crate, recounting his experience in the Dark Side dimension and his discovery of the Light Side counterpart. Anakin listened intently, his envy growing with every word.
"Dimensions of the Force?" Anakin muttered, shaking his head. "That's not in any of the Jedi texts."
"Not everything is," Bell replied. "The Force is infinite, Ani. There's so much more to it than what we've been taught. We just need to be open to it."
Anakin crossed his arms, grinning slyly. "I need to find one of these dimensions. Maybe then I'll stop being your shadow."
Bell laughed. "You're no shadow, kid. But when we get back to Coruscant, we're going to train harder than ever. If you want to understand the Force like this, we'll figure it out together."
Back on Coruscant, Bell and Anakin reported their mission's success to the Jedi Council, omitting the details of Bell's dimensional journey. The Council sensed their growth in power and skill, but even Yoda seemed uncertain about the strange energy emanating from Bell.
The two Jedi Knights dedicated themselves to rigorous training, pushing their limits to learn everything they could about the Force.
"Proper Jedi," Bell mused one day during meditation. "What does that even mean?"
Anakin smirked. "I don't know, Master. But when we figure it out, the galaxy won't know what hit it."
Bell chuckled, nodding. "That's the spirit, Ani. Let's keep learning. The Force has a lot more to show us."
And so, with newfound determination, the pair continued their journey, ready to face whatever challenges the galaxy had in store.
