Chapter 427: Pay For Sins
Darian jumped onto the ship, and they all entered the city from above. Silence ruled the air, and everyone's focus was on him. They noticed he'd been seriously injured before, but now he looked perfectly fine, as if nothing had happened.
As they neared the castle, he roared, "Attack and kill everyone."
Tetoya and Zelkov clenched their fists, then commanded their troops to launch a frontal assault.
Tetoya leapt to the ground, followed by seven little foxes that formed a circle around her.
She roared, activating her full form. Her body shone with a golden light, and the small horns on her head pulsed and grew massively.
She wasn't using a transformed body, but her real one. Still, her beast Bloodline had been intentionally suppressed, letting her elven blood dominate. Now that she'd unleashed everything, her appearance became far wilder and more beast-like. Her size and proportions grew, making her look like an imposing beast-woman.
That was just her Bloodline and physique pushed to the extreme. Tetoya waved her hand, and all the power from her rings flowed into the seven little foxes beside her.
In seconds, they began to glow, releasing a terrifying aura.
"GO!" Tetoya roared, charging forward with her seven small soldiers.
Darian watched calmly as giant pillars of earth shot up into the sky like divine spears, tearing everything apart. The seven foxes carried insane destructive power, wielding Tetoya's energy even better than she could herself.
She served as their meat shield, relying on her dense draconic Bloodline to protect the seven.
On the other side, Zelkov fought alongside the other soldiers. He wasn't strong offensively, but he had a tank-type blessing called Divine Shield.
Basically, as long as he had ring energy, it was absurdly hard to take him down. With his weapon and a few other techniques, he still managed some offensive power.
The regular soldiers fighting beside him weren't useless either. Those under Tetoya's command had received advice and pills from Darian beforehand, letting their potential bloom.
They all fought together. They weren't amazing, but they were steady — killing beasts around them without dying.
Darian turned to the other foxes beside him, who were waiting patiently. He smiled and nodded.
Soon, all the power from his four rings flowed into them.
"Go, show everyone on this planet that the Celestial Foxes aren't to be underestimated."
His voice was calm, and all the little foxes screamed excitedly before rushing into the battlefield, their bodies glowing brightly.
Darian smiled, calmly watching everything around him. Everyone in the city was nearby, witnessing it all.
In the skies, he could feel intense spatial fluctuations. From every direction on the planet, thousands of airships were approaching to see what was going on.
His previous attack hadn't just been to kill the three family heads — it was also to draw the entire planet's attention to that city.
Obviously, Morion and several Elders from the Ral family had come, watching everything from a distance.
The area around the castle was covered in dazzling multicolored lights. The blood of enemy beasts rained down, painting the battlefield red.
The little foxes were unstoppable and glorious — they were the main offensive force. As long as they had the power of a blessed one's ring, every move they made created calamity-level elemental attacks, perfectly controlled.
They had no training or refined techniques, but using that power was instinctive. They were born connected to the elements — like fish that don't need to learn to swim, or land animals that don't need to learn to breathe.
As for the enemies… after watching their leaders die in such a horrifying way, their formations and coordination completely collapsed. They couldn't fight properly anymore, and against the overwhelming power of only eighty enemy warriors, they were dying at a terrifying pace.
On the airship, Darian turned to the two small purple beasts and gestured for them to come closer.
When Tizol and Lihan landed on his shoulders, Darian exhaled, and a gray aura surrounded him.
It was the last remnant of chaos power in his core — but enough to use a new technique.
Tempest Blink had also been completely changed. Now, using the power of chaos, he no longer needed any element to perform it — just a bit of chaos energy was enough to distort space at short range and move freely.
The essence of the technique was the same: short-distance movement at incredible speed. It was made for fighting alone against armies. But now, he used the space around him itself to move.
Unfortunately, Darian could tell this version was still far from being truly usable.
He needed deep focus, taking almost a whole second to move. That happened because he hadn't yet mastered spatial control, making it extremely difficult to use properly.
But everything has to start somewhere. It was his first time forcing himself to manipulate space, and he knew that, in the future, he'd learn to control it better.
After a long sigh, he muttered,
"Chaos Blink."
Suddenly, Darian vanished along with the two little beasts on his shoulders.
Almost instantly, he appeared inside the tallest tower of the castle.
There, he saw Hudu and Cyaos standing still.
"Patriarch!" Lihan and Tizol flew toward Hudu, overjoyed.
"Kids..." He patted them with his wings.
After a few seconds, he looked at Darian, his eyes trembling.
"Sir..."
Darian gave a small nod. "The promise I made to you was just an excuse. The truth is... all of this is my fault. The Wube family attacked yours to get to me."
"But... if we hadn't spread that..." Hudu swallowed hard, feeling Tizol sink into deep sorrow.
"Kid, you finally get what your big mouth brought on your family? How many times did I warn you to think before talking and not let your ego run wild?"
Tizol was trembling, feeling the weight of so many family deaths crashing down on his shoulders.
"Don't blame yourself that much. In the end, like I said, this is also my fault," Darian spoke in a calm tone. "Soon, this will all be over. And when it is, the three enemy families of yours will be wiped out forever. You'll come out stronger than before... even though the lives lost can never truly be justified."
Hudu let out a deep sigh. Was it really Darian's fault? Of course not. But the weight of such a tragedy on a single young man's back was way too heavy.
Darian thought for a moment, realizing the problem.
"Girl, come here."
He gestured for Lihan to approach. He touched her forehead and transmitted to her an old movement technique he had found in some ruins a few years back — the same one whose core principles he had used to create Tempest Blink at the time.
It was a technique that used lightning or wind to move and attack. In the past, Darian had only taken the movement concept and discarded the rest, but he knew that technique was extremely high-level and complex.
"You should use it with your transformed body. Once you can control it easily, you'll be able to use it with your real body at an even higher level," Darian said quickly, and she nodded, returning to her elegant humanoid form.
She took a deep breath, feeling a bit dizzy from all the information flooding her mind.
"Don't overthink it. Just push your beast Bloodline to the limit and let the power flow. Go — I wanna see how far your talent can take you." He spoke calmly, and her eyes lit up.
With a jump, Lihan shot toward the battlefield.
Darian then turned to Tizol. "You too. I think you've got similar potential to hers. If you wanna pay for your sins and give a proper answer to those who died because of you, then from today on, you should devote yourself completely to growing stronger. In the future, you'll have to protect and lead your race with full responsibility."
"Yes!" Tizol took his true form and kneeled down, shouting with strength.
Darian nodded and passed the same technique to him.
In the next moment, Tizol was wrapped in purple lightning and dashed into the battlefield. His will and aura were completely different from before.
The childish, arrogant, loud kid was gone. Now, he looked absurdly serious and focused.
On his back, he carried the weight of almost a thousand deaths — people he knew by name, who had trusted him.
Hudu snorted. If the kid hadn't actually changed, he'd make sure to punish him properly. But now...
On the battlefield, Lihan and Tizol looked like two purple bolts tearing through enemies, cutting them down with ease.
They only fought weaker opponents for now, since they still had few rings, but they were definitely getting faster — learning to master the technique at an impressive pace.
...
After nearly an hour, it was all over.
They didn't have to kill every beast — taking down two-thirds of them was enough for the rest to flee in panic.
But now, those creatures had no families left to return to.
Darian didn't hesitate and led the army straight toward the three enemy castles. They destroyed everything and seized all their possessions.
Hudu tried to hand everything over to Darian, but he refused, saying it wasn't even 1% of what he already had. He told them it was better for their race to keep the resources and grow stronger.
And so, everything was settled. Three beast families from the top 100 ceased to exist. Their few survivors would now have to live outside the city and survive on their own.
The little foxes were trembling and exhausted. Darian placed them on the airship, and they all fell into a deep sleep.
When it was all done, he turned to leave... until he noticed Lihan's trembling eyes filled with expectation.
"Hmm... Tetoya," he muttered, turning around.
She looked at Darian, confused, then glanced at Lihan — and understood.
"You fought well beside us. You still have few rings and lack experience... but you've got a bright future. Wanna come to the capital and become one of my soldiers?" Tetoya asked, watching Lihan freeze in disbelief.
Darian coughed lightly. Tetoya turned to him again, confused. He motioned with his eyes toward the other one beside her.
Tetoya sighed and turned to Tizol. "You seem decent enough too... Zelkov suits you better."
Zelkov snapped out of his daze — he was the slowest of them all. Then he quickly stepped forward, grateful, and personally invited Tizol to become his soldier.
Both accepted without hesitation. For them, just seeing the prince or princess from afar was already a dream. Talking to them was something completely out of reach... becoming their soldiers? That was something they'd never imagined, not even in their wildest dreams.
Darian turned to Hudu, who was speechless. Not only had Darian saved their race, he had also secured an unlimited future for the next generation.
"Cyaos, let's head to the capital. We can talk there — I've got a huge mansion now," Darian said to the human, who nodded excitedly.
"The mansion's mine, damn it! And you're my instructor, not the owner of everything!" Tetoya roared, though even she didn't quite believe her own words.
