Chapter 43: Succulent Blood, Enticing Offer.

Carmilla licked her lips seductively before saying, "If you'll excuse me."

Her fangs pierced my neck with surprising gentleness.

"Ah..." I let out an unexpected moan.

Surprisingly, the process didn't hurt at all. I was actually enjoying the sensation more than anything.

After about a minute of the most pleasurable feeling I'd ever experienced, even better than any intimate encounter from my previous life, she withdrew her fangs.

She licked the blood that had dripped onto her lips before saying, "You taste delicious."

I looked at her with hazy eyes, still processing the incredible sensation.

After that blood-sharing session, and having stared at her elegant neck for so long, I couldn't help but voice my inner desire.

"Can I?"

She smiled knowingly at my words. "You want a taste of my blood?"

I nodded eagerly.

Honestly, had I not known about her immense power and her ability to crush me like an insect despite being restrained, I would have already leapt onto her neck and devoured her blood without permission.

"Eat," she whispered into my ear, her breath sending shivers down my spine.

As soon as those words registered in my brain, I bit into her neck with the hunger of a starved wolf.

"Ahh! You're being so aggressive," she said in a strangely affectionate tone that made my heart race.

I wasn't sure whether my senses were dulled due to the intense pleasure I was experiencing, or whether she was genuinely making those sounds of enjoyment.

Either way, I continued feeding on her blood for about a minute before she gently signalled for me to stop.

System notifications flashed across my vision, but I completely ignored them, too invested in the incredible taste of her blood.

Her blood was absolutely succulent, so delicious and sweet that I felt genuine sadness when she told me to stop.

The blood from that Elite-ranked beast with a rare bloodline now seemed like sewage water in comparison. In fact, it was even worse than that, there was simply no comparison possible.

I wondered how I would ever be able to drink other blood after experiencing this incredible taste.

After I reluctantly withdrew, Carmilla looked at me with genuine shock written across her beautiful face.

"You... How?"

"How? What?" I answered in confusion, wondering if I had done something wrong during the feeding.

Her violet eyes were wide with what appeared to be amazement and disbelief, as if something unexpected had just occurred.

"You... took one of my bloodline traits."

My eyes widened in shock. I had absorbed one of her bloodline traits? That had never happened before. I'd consumed blood from countless creatures, and I'd never taken the traits of others.

Remembering the system notifications I'd ignored, I quickly checked them.

[Your Supreme Vampire bloodline is increasing...]

[Your Supreme Vampire bloodline is increasing...]

[You have gained the second-order trait: Blood Trail]

[Host: Adrian Blackwood]

[Bloodline: Supreme Vampire - 20%]

[Rank: Elite]

[Traits: Blood Control (2nd Order, Lvl.3), Supernatural Physique (1st Order, Lvl.3), Blood Enhancement (1st Order, Lvl.1), Blood Trail (2nd Order, Lvl.1)]

[Aspect: Serpent Scales (Elite), Silent Predator (Elite)]

[Echo: None]

I stared at my updated status in amazement. My bloodline percentage had increased to 20% - a significant jump that should have been impossible.

It had to be understood that increasing bloodline percentage was unheard of except through rank advancement, which only provided tiny incremental increases. Even Kyle himself had never gained such an opportunity in the novel, at least not in the portions I'd read up to, and he had already reached Royal rank by that point.

[Blood Trail] [Order: 2] [Level: 1]

[Details: Track individuals you have previously fed from or tasted the blood of. Can sense their general direction and approximate distance up to 10 kilometers for 24 hours after contact. Trail becomes fainter over time. Cannot pinpoint exact location, only general vicinity.]

The trait was incredibly useful for tracking purposes.

Carmilla stared at me for several moments before speaking thoughtfully. "It seems like this is fate. Out of everything you could have gained, you received this specific trait."

I stared back, understanding her words but not wanting to delve too deeply into the implications of what she meant by "fate."

Carmilla continued studying me before making her proposition. "How about this... I know you are not a normal vampire, not at all. So I want to make a deal with you."

"A deal? What kind?" I asked, though I had a growing suspicion about what she might propose.

"Save me from this place. Not now, but when you are strong enough to do so without putting yourself in mortal danger. In return, I will give you something that will make you incredibly more powerful."

Her violet eyes held a serious intensity that made it clear this wasn't a casual request. Whatever she was offering must be extraordinarily valuable to warrant such a commitment.

A Vampire Queen's gratitude and whatever gift she was promising could certainly be life-changing even to my current self. But it also meant binding myself to a future obligation that could prove extremely dangerous.

I needed to consider this carefully.

What exactly was she offering, and what would rescuing her actually entail?

After some time of pondering, I said. "Alright, Lady Carmilla. As you know, your enemies are extremely powerful to be able to detain somebody as powerful as you. Meanwhile, I'm just a poor person at the Elite rank.

I've barely survived a fight with a Transcendent-rank creature a while ago. So, to be blatantly honest, unless what you will provide me truly entices me and helps me get more powerful, it will be difficult for me to accept your previous proposal."

Carmilla's smile remained on her face despite my initial rejection of her offer.

"Firstly, you don't have to call me Lady. You can just call me Carmilla. Secondly, why don't you just witness the benefits yourself?"

Carmilla closed her eyes before blood started flowing from them slowly.

I looked in horror and shock as I watched the crimson liquid emerging from her eyes gradually form into a perfect sphere.

Once the blood drop finished forming, it had taken the shape of a beautiful teardrop that was fascinating to observe.

Carmilla opened her eyes once again, showing no sign of the blood that had been leaking from them moments before.

"What is this?" I asked, staring at the teardrop made from blood.

"Drink it and you will find out."
