Chapter 670 - 670: Thanks for the Invitation
Chapter 670: Chapter 670: Thanks for the Invitation
So Cindy went to queue up for beverages and snacks, while Adrian found a place to sit.
Even though it was just for a day, the feeling of being supported by Cindy was surprisingly interesting.
Adrian was all ready to be fed for the day.
Looking at the back of Cindy lining up, he clicked on the search he had just done for help.
There were still questions within the answering period.
Adrian typed in, “Thanks for the invitation, coming to the movie theater for a date is a good choice. I’m in the theater now, waiting for the movie to start. She bought the tickets and snacks, and I didn’t spend a penny, it’s great.”
Adrian wanted to say that it was his own wife, though.
But if he said that, he wouldn’t be able to brag.
They were all members of the same family, and his wife’s spending was also the family’s money.
Furthermore, after getting married, the financial power is in the wife’s hands.
Isn’t it normal for the wife to spend money when going out?
Thus, Adrian deliberately blurred the concept.
After a while, he refreshed the page, and there were replies.
“Stop bragging!”
“Bro, you’re a 666 (Internet slang meaning awesome)!”
“Post a picture to prove it?”
Adrian ignored them.
Who would post a photo for them? That’s too good for them!
Just then, Cindy came over with a large bucket of popcorn and two cups of Coke.
Adrian looked up and quickly helped her take it.
They ate and drank while waiting until it was time to enter the auditorium.
Halfway through the movie, Adrian received a call from Morgan.
To avoid suddenly disrupting the movie for others, he put his mobile phone on vibrate.
He could still feel it in his pocket.
Upon taking it out, he didn’t expect it to be a call from Morgan.
That little guy was so carefree that Adrian didn’t think he missed them.
Moreover, if Morgan really missed them, he should be looking for Cindy instead.
There must be something up.
Adrian then told Cindy, “I’ll go out to take a call.”
Cindy thought it was work-related and casually nodded.
Adrian went out first.
“What’s up?” Outside the auditorium, Adrian answered the call.
“Dad, Cindy’s parents and sister have come to Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother’s place!” The little guy crawled into the rockery and called Adrian.
“Are they at the family mansion now?” Adrian asked.
“Yes, I just saw them in the courtyard,” Morgan replied.
“Did they see you?” Adrian asked again.
“I don’t know. I was playing in the snow in the courtyard. They must have seen me,” Morgan guessed, “But they didn’t come to talk to me, they probably don’t know who I am.”
“Okay,” Adrian nodded, “You don’t have to hide in the courtyard, just go back when you’re done playing. They should be in the Main Hall, so avoid it, and don’t let them see you.”
“Otherwise, they’ll cause trouble for you in the Nursery again,” Adrian instructed.
“I know,” Morgan nodded, knowing how smart he is, and thought about it. “I’ll have Grandpa Gardener take me along. If I run into them, I’ll hide behind him!”
“You handle it yourself,” Adrian instructed the little one before not worrying about Morgan anymore.
He had more confidence in the little guy’s ability to adapt and react.
He had no idea that Morgan was only four years old and was so carefree.
“But they must not come for good things. Maybe they’re here to talk bad about Cindy!” Morgan pouted.
If they really caused trouble for Cindy and were kicked out of the Zhekova Family, it wouldn’t do them any good.
Normally, people wouldn’t do something that harms others without benefiting themselves.
But if it were the Clarke Family, they might actually do it.
Adrian couldn’t understand their thought process.
A four-year-old child could think things through clearly, but the Clarke Family operated in a unique way.
Of course, they themselves were not normal.
Normal people naturally couldn’t communicate with their thought patterns.
“I understand,” Adrian said, “Don’t worry about it, and don’t try to eavesdrop. They might see you.”
But Morgan’s curiosity was excessive.
Even if Adrian told him not to do it, the little one might not listen.
Adrian knew him too well, so to prevent Morgan from acting on his own and causing problems again,
Adrian said, “If you really want to listen, ask Butler Howard, Aunt Evans, or anyone else in the family mansion to put a walkie-talkie or something in the Main Hall for you. You can listen in another room without crouching in the corner and getting tired.”
After all, the family mansion had bodyguards and eavesdropping devices were not in short supply.
Morgan’s eyes lit up, “Dad, you’re so smart!”
“Of course,” Adrian straightened his already very straight posture.
His wisdom was not something this little guy could compare to!
The little one was very surprised and didn’t expect his father to support him so much!
Adrian even helped him think of solutions!
That was so considerate!
“But no matter what they say, don’t panic,” Adrian instructed, “Be angry but don’t impulsively confront them. Don’t forget, there’s still Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother.”
“Trust Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother. They won’t be deceived by the Clarke Family’s words or be confused. Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother always stand by our side.”
“They know the grievances and bullying Cindy has suffered. They like Cindy and won’t listen to the words of the Clarke Family members. Whatever the Clarke family says, Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother will deal with them.”
“So, don’t get involved,” Adrian warned.
“I know,” Morgan crisply replied, “I believe in Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother.”
“They’re so smart; they won’t be fooled by the Clarke family,” Morgan said.
“You be good,” Adrian told him, “We’ll be back soon.”
“Okay,” Morgan finished and hung up the phone.
After hanging up, Adrian returned to the auditorium.
Upon finding their seat and sitting down, Cindy asked, “Was it something important?”
“Not urgent,” Adrian replied, “Don’t worry about it.”
Cindy nodded, and since Adrian said so, she didn’t think about it anymore.
She watched the movie intently until the end.
As they left, Cindy was still reminiscing about the film.
“No wonder this movie has such high ratings,” Cindy commented, “It’s really good. When it’s released on the Video Platform, I want to watch it again.”
“Call me when you do, and I’ll watch it with you,” Adrian said with a smile.
“Okay,” Cindy nodded.
Seeing Cindy in such a good mood, Adrian had to dampen the spirits, “Actually, halfway through the movie just now, it was Morgan who called.”
“Morgan? What happened?” Cindy asked in surprise.
