Chapter 26: Chapter 9: After Work_3
"Damn it!"
If it weren't for the stray bullets flying overhead and having this woman pounce into his arms, locking his waist with her thighs so he couldn't move, Li Pan really wanted to smack her with a big slap.
But Li Pan's eyes were also opened. The vampire had a large hole blown through her shoulder by a bullet, but during the bloodsucking, the bullet was actually expelled on its own, and the flesh was visibly healing.
Indeed, top-notch science from Ye Corporation...
"Hey, are you ever going to stop? You've healed, isn't that enough? Suck any more and I'm turning on you!"
"Mmm~~~"
However, that female vampire didn't think one bite was enough. She kept going, as if addicted, like she was high, her bright blue eyes rolling up in a daze, her eyelashes fluttering slightly.
Li Pan tried to pull his hand back forcefully a couple of times but couldn't. Instead, she sucked on the back of his hand a few more times. He was at a big loss!
"Awooo!"
At that moment, the brawny guy at the other end ran out of bullets, and after being shot up by other Night Walkers, he exploded into a roaring rage, tearing open his leather jacket and skin! He transformed into a huge beast, charged into the subway, broke through the windows, and fled into the tracks!
That thing! It was the Monster that died at the entrance of the secret passage!
Li Pan turned his head to look, but with no way to pursue, he could only thrust his hips forward a couple of times to signal the female Night Walker in his arms.
"Hey! Your prey is getting away!"
Only then did the female Night Walker come to her senses. She gave Li Pan a fierce glare, finally released her bite, and not bothering to wipe the bloody saliva from her lips, she leaped out, as fast as a shooting star, darting into the subway after the fleeing Monster and vanished.
"Fuck! My gun!"
When Li Pan turned around, a group of Night Walkers had already plunged into the dim underground railway like shadows in the night, disappearing without a trace.
Ah... my family's heirloom pistol...
Looking around at the groaning wounded and corpses, the fact that he was only bitten and had his gun taken was actually not too bad.
But after such an episode, the subway was out of the question. Li Pan didn't have money for a cab, so he checked the map and walked an extra two stops, taking a large detour to finally get back to the apartment building in the outskirts.
As the elevator slowly descended, Li Pan went to the late-night food stall at the door, transferred twenty bucks to the owner, and got a bowl of wonton noodles to eat while standing.
To his left, a drunkard snored, and to his right, a kid with virtual glasses was engrossed in a video game. The TV was showing an Electric Shock Ball game.
Li Pan ate his wontons while watching the game.
Oh, possibly you don't know what Electric Shock Ball is. Simply put, it's a sport similar to rugby with many rule changes, but basically, it can be played by two or more people, all fighting over a ball with no other rules. Additionally, that ball is a bomb, and when the timer runs out, it will explode. The player who isn't blown up or beaten to death and holds the ball the longest wins the match.
Li Pan often played this game with the young people in the building, of course, they only played Electric Shock Ball, at most getting an electric shock, and they didn't bet money.
However, in an official match, every second holding the explosive ball is worth tens or even hundreds of thousands of cash, directly transferred to the player's account, flashing before their eyes, and only the victor takes the money. According to the Security Bureau's regulations, large non-salary cash transfers susceptible to laundering would be reclaimed, but the Tax Bureau has priority to deduct taxes on non-wage income, which starts at about thirty percent or so. Thus, most players cling to the ball until death, unwilling to let go.
And then they get blown to bits.
Ding, the elevator arrived.
Li Pan gulped down the last of his wontons and went home to sleep.
