Cooking
The hunters dismantling the elder dragon's corpse paused and checked to make sure that they didn't get any of the ink on them. Once they were certain they were clear they went back to it much more carefully this time. "That bad huh?" the admiral asked concerned. 'See for yourself , the stuff's chewing a hole through me even now.' Alex said while pointing at a part of his body that was sizzling and melting slowly under the corrosion of the ink on it. The medics and admiral sucked in a mouthful of air when they saw this and gave Alex an expression of awe since he didn't seem to mind the pain at all.-
'Don't look at me like that , to you it seems impressive but for me that is barely any of my body at all so it's very minor really.' Alex clarified and they nodded in understanding. To them it seems impressive but to Alex it was more like the bite of an ant , less painful and more irritating. They could only shrug and accept this explanation since without being monsters themselves they had no way to reasonably tell what was considered serious injury wise.-
Soon enough the elder was taken apart and all the parts except the meat and gem that was found went to the scholars to study. Alex of course took the meat and gem for himself and headed up to the canteen to get the meat cooked up. The gem was an interesting looking thing as it was a shining black crystal that seemed to contain a vortex of energy within it. It literally thrummed with power and had a faint hint of the elders aura remaining on it. The head chef had long since prepped the dragon kitchen and was waiting rather impatiently for the goods to be delivered.-
Alex walked up and set down the meat on the flat stone meant to keep sand from getting onto the meat. Like usual the chef cut off a small amount of the meat and tossed it onto the hot oiled stone without any flavoring at all to get a sense of how the meat tasted plain. Alex noticed that the meat seemed to resemble a mix between fish and scallops texture wise. It was both soft and rubbery while also flaking apart easily with very little oil.-
Once the chef was satisfied with the doneness of the meat he popped it into his mouth and froze. It was bizarre how this look of sheer ecstasy seemed to come over the chef and he left out a content sigh as he swallowed the meat. "I won't charge for the meal but I want half that meat in exchange." he said gruffly. Alex narrowed his eyes at the large feline "I have a sneaking suspicion that this is a heavily in your favor deal , but you wouldn't betray my trust like that now would you?' he said seriously and the chef looked nervous and started fidgeting.-
Eventually he caved "Fine you win , ten free meals!" he said clearly upset at the idea. 'Done and don't go taking only the good stuff from the pile.' Alex said and the chef cursed under his breath but nodded in agreement. 'Don't go setting a mission for me to collect more of this stuff either since it came from an elder dragon and I have no clue where to look to find another.' Alex added making the chef deflate slightly in disappointment. Still the chef had the pile of meat split into two parts before one of them was sent to be stored in the cold storage for later.-
He then got serious and broke out the giant wok and sliced up the remaining meat alongside ginger , onions and garlic. He added sake to the wok and the vegetables before cooking that down stirring constantly. He then added fish stock and cream before adding the meat and stirred the thick mixture vigorously. About an hour later the contents of the wok were served up in a huge bowl with rice. Alex knew why the chef had his reaction after tasting the food and feeling his body shudder in pleasure. It was rich , creamy and the taste was beyond description as it brought Alex's tastebuds to life.
