Chapter 162: The Power of Angels_2

Thinking of this, his heart raced, and he reached out to touch the stab wound at his chest. This time, he gritted his teeth against the piercing pain, refusing to flinch. With his right hand covering his heart, he indeed perceived some change: the stab wound had flattened.

The wound that had split his chest open with flesh turned outward now felt remarkably smooth to the touch, indicating that it was nearly healed. However, how exactly this wound had healed remained a mystery to Su Chen.

He gritted his teeth due to the "intense" movement, the pain making him hiss in discomfort. Yet as he clenched his jaw, he immediately noticed his lips were exceptionally parched, and his throat felt as though it were smoldering with smoke.

Water…

At this moment, he naturally thought of drinking water, and his right hand instinctively slid down to explore for a drop of rainwater nectar.

But without visual guidance, how could he search out the rainwater nectar, especially since there were few tender plants here? Even if there were, they were likely too high and unreachable.

What to do? Both pain and thirst tormented him simultaneously, driving Su Chen to the brink of madness. Unfortunately, he was too weak to get worked up, and could only stare helplessly at the surroundings elevated above ground, praying for heaven to send down a rainstorm.

Alas, heaven would not grant his wish.

Despite his desperate longing, the heavens were stubbornly ungiving. After waiting for half a day, the sky remained calm, showing no sign of impending rain. Gentle breezes blended with the scent of grass occasionally wafted to his nose, only increasing Su Chen's anxious restlessness.

Unable to move, heavily injured, and terribly thirsty, at this rate his survival seemed unlikely. But how could he first relieve the dryness in his mouth?

Oh right, didn't he have water elemental energy within? Why not try to draw some out. Su Chen thought thus, spurring an earnest effort.

His exhausted spirit used a very weak power to control the Beast's Qi Energy; his right fingers lightly contracted, gathering the last ounce of strength in his body. Slightly, the sound of water splashing reached his ears. Su Chen's heart trembled, suddenly overjoyed. He focused again, exerting all his strength, his right fist forgetting the pain and clenching tightly!

Splish splash!

A palm-sized cluster of crystalline water suddenly surged forth from his right fist, shooting toward Su Chen's mouth which had opened wide with exertion. Once the water dropped, a sweet taste immediately spread throughout his mouth, and even the exhausted energy within his body seemed to recover slightly!

Droplets slid down his lips, and Su Chen, more greedily than ever, licked the sweet beads of water at the corners of his mouth, his eyes gradually regaining a bright look. This was the feeling of being alive, Su Chen sighed from the bottom of his heart.

Afterwards, relying on the slight recovery of energy, he used the same technique each time hunger or thirst struck by summoning the water elemental energy within. Then as his body slowly regained sensation and pain gradually numbed and retreated, he finally could slowly rise and see all the sights around him.

This was a desolate grassland, apart from waist-high weeds and some scattered unknown trees, there was an abandoned cave that seemed to have been lived in. At the entrance of the cave, some firewood and stones were piled.

Su Chen carefully observed the terrain and landform. Then, taking advantage of the recovery, he used water elemental energy to wash off the blood stains and slightly used wind elemental energy to dry himself.

While performing these actions naturally, he suddenly froze. Because he discovered for the first time he could so effortlessly and smoothly utilize two different elemental energies at once. So, why not try the fire elemental energy within, perhaps all three could appear simultaneously.

Do as one wishes. He slightly adjusted his posture, sat cross-legged, calmed his spirit, and attempted to sense the presence of the three elemental energies within the Beast's Qi Sea.

Water element power, the smallest area but the most concentrated. Fire element power, second in size but shallowest in depth, was clearly infrequently used. Wind element power, the largest area, second in concentration, used most often hence most proficient. To have the spirit control them and simultaneously display more than two elemental energies, one must thoroughly master and correlate the operational routes of at least two elemental powers. The wind attribute power's route was already deeply ingrained, easily familiar even without recalling. As for the water attribute power's route, deduced from recent usage, it seemed similar to the wind attribute (releasing water splash was not a skill); but for the fire attribute, being rather fierce, unlike wind and water, any operational error potentially causing significant harm.

Su Chen pondered, deciding to try, treating a dead horse as if alive, risking danger to test. He focused with closed eyes, wind elemental energy instantly gushed to the surface, transforming into blue flames. Although water elemental power flowed slower and rather clogged through its route, it managed to reach the surface with double time. As for fire elemental power, it faltered and hesitated, seemingly resistant to his command, occasionally altering its path while passing through his meridians. Su Chen grew anxious, promptly abandoning control over wind and water elemental energies, concentrating all his mental power on controlling fire elemental energy.

Gradually, he finally accustomed to fire elemental energy's temper and familiarized himself with its trail when darting about, realizing that only complete mental concentration could prevent waste incurring when fire elemental energy surfaced. Yet a new problem arose: with all concentration devoted to controlling fire elemental energy, what about wind and water elemental energies?

At this moment, he suddenly sensed the black Spirit Pearl tightly held in his palm emitting a gentle murmur. It seemed to touch the depths of his soul, as if hinting something…
