Chapter 133: One Punch Blast, Rescuing Phoenix_2
Three mysterious men, all wearing ghostly masks. Their black robes could not conceal the chilling and terrifying aura they emitted. The leader was thin yet stood as firm as a spear, showing not a single flaw. The voice from beneath his mask seemed to carry a peculiar power that could shock the soul.
"Hand over that parchment fragment you have..."
Phoenix's face was pale, but she instinctively shook her head, "Don't even think about it, I got it with great difficulty."
"Hmph, is that so? Such a naive little girl. If it weren't for the fact that the three of us were too exhausted from chasing you, do you really think, with your pitiful abilities, you could have escaped for so long? Hand it over, and if possible, I might spare your life."
The man said in a sinister tone.
Su Chen was secretly shocked in his heart; a parchment fragment? It seemed that this group's target was the parchment fragment on Phoenix, but where did she get it from?
Below, Phoenix seemed to have made a great decision. She slowly took out a crumpled parchment fragment from her bosom and looked at the three men with a complicated expression, "You promised me, if you dare go back on your word, I..."
"Don't worry, I, Dark Heaven, have never gone back on my word."
The man interrupted sharply, then reached out his right hand towards Phoenix.
Su Chen thought to himself, idiot, don't give it to him, if you do, you're as good as dead!
Phoenix gritted her teeth and suddenly threw the parchment fragment away, then darted forward at high speed! Su Chen excitedly slapped his forehead, but suddenly noticed that the parchment fragment, mid-air, exploded, turning into rings of earthen yellow waves of attack!
The waves instantly radiated and spread, forming a tight, dense net in the air, heading straight for the three men!
However, Phoenix underestimated these masked men. The leader, who called himself Dark Heaven, merely snorted, and with a wave of his right palm, a strange dark force surged forth, instantly breaking through the net. He then stepped forward, almost teleporting behind Phoenix, his right hand shaped like a blade, accurately and effortlessly striking Phoenix's shoulder!
"Stop!"
From the tree, Su Chen let out a low shout, then leaped down from the branches, swiftly moving between Phoenix and Dark Heaven like a whirlwind!
He forcefully threw a punch, connecting with what seemed like a gentle punch from Dark Heaven, but upon contact, Su Chen let out a low grunt, being hit with such force that he flew backward! In midair, he grabbed Phoenix, holding her steadily in his arms, and just before hitting the ground, he kicked off the ground, accelerating like an arrow, darting out of the forest like a gale!
Dark Heaven let out a soft "hmm," the cold face under his mask showing a hint of meaning, "This lad has some skills."
"Master, why don't you continue to capture them?"
A tall, burly man behind him asked in a low voice.
Dark Heaven chuckled eerily, a sound so chilling it was bone-piercing, "Isn't catching mice all about the thrill of the chase? Now that another entertaining little mouse has joined in, I'll play along with all of you..."
"Why did you save me?"
Phoenix lay on Su Chen's back, her face pale, looking complicated as she asked.
Su Chen, like an arrow, covered dozens of meters in one leap. The wind roared past his ears.
Hearing her question, Su Chen let out a cold snort, indifferently saying, "I only came for the parchment fragment on you."
Phoenix, however, softly replied, "If it was just for the parchment fragment, you could have killed me right now, avenged your grievance, and obtained the fragment effortlessly, couldn't you?"
Su Chen, in mid-leap, paused as if irritated by his cover being blown, his voice becoming even colder, "If you keep going on, I might just throw you off, want to try me?"
Phoenix's delicate body stiffened, then she quietly lowered her head, no longer speaking. Su Chen snorted coldly, speeding up again, shooting down the road like a released arrow...
Time seemed to blur as the wind's roar diminished drastically, and the groggy Phoenix awoke to find herself being steadily laid down on the ground by Su Chen, who was breathing heavily, his chest heaving. She opened her mouth to speak but found no words. The icy aura emanating from Su Chen prevented her from connecting him with the passionate young man of the past. All of this was because of her merciless strike...
After setting her down, Su Chen wiped off the sweat himself and went to a crystal-clear stream nearby, leaning down to take a handful of water to his mouth. The sweet and refreshing taste invigorated his spirit.
Hearing the sound of water, Phoenix's eyes widened. She looked at this familiar place with a deeply complex expression, "This is that place from before, why... why did you bring me here?"
Su Chen splashed some cool water on his face, washing away the sweat, but his expression grew even colder. His slender eyes were as frigid as cold stars, fixedly staring at Phoenix.
"What do you think?"
Phoenix jumped with a fright, involuntarily taking a few steps back, her expression panicked as she looked at Su Chen, her chest heaving, "You're going to kill me here?"
She recalled the scene of ambushing Su Chen that day, fear creeping through her heart, her delicate fists clenched tight, biting her lip, her gaze trembled, "Is it because I ambushed you? So now you seek revenge?"
