Ch. 38
Chapter 38: Group Structure, The First Morning Meeting!
That heartfelt “I understand now!” from Wang Teng made the four other surrendered members of the Aotian Alliance all reveal expressions of sudden enlightenment (though they only half-understood).
Their gazes toward Chu Feng completely changed.
If before, they merely thought of Chu Feng as a cunning schemer with unpredictable means—
Then now, in their hearts, Chu Feng had ascended to the level of a “thought mentor,” a “strategist.”
This man—what he thought, what he planned—had already gone far beyond their understanding of “Cultivation” and “Sects.”
Following someone like this, perhaps they really could walk a completely different path!
“I… I understand too! Please, President, give me a chance!”
“Me as well! President, I’m willing to dedicate everything to the Group!”
The four of them also stood up one after another, bowing respectfully to Chu Feng with utmost reverence.
“Very good.”
Chu Feng nodded in satisfaction. This was exactly the effect he wanted.
Crushing others with absolute strength could only make them submit.
But a dimensional strike on the level of thought and ideology—this could make them sincerely convinced, even fanatically devoted.
“Since everyone has thought it through, let’s now discuss the specific work arrangements.”
Chu Feng gestured for them to sit, then signaled to Wu Hao.
Wu Hao immediately handed out several sheets filled with writing to Wang Teng and the others.
“These are our Ascension Group’s preliminary ‘organizational structure chart’ and ‘job responsibility descriptions.’ You may take a look first.”
Wang Teng and the rest quickly took the papers, looked down—and were instantly shaken to their cores.
On the sheets, a clear tree diagram outlined an organizational structure unlike anything they had ever seen.
At the top was a square box labeled [Board of Directors], with a note in parentheses: The Group’s highest decision-making body.
Below the Board was a central box: [Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Chu Feng], with a note: The Group’s highest manager, responsible to the Board.
Under the CEO were several parallel departments:
[Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Wu Hao]: Responsible for daily operations, human resources, and logistical support.
[Chief Product Officer (CPO) – Leng Yanran]: Responsible for product R&D, quality control, and iteration of pills and artifacts.
[Chief Security Officer (CSO) – Zhang Daniu]: Responsible for internal discipline, external armed conflicts, and security work.
[Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Liu Changqing]: Responsible for asset management, financial auditing, and investment planning.
[Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) – To Be Determined]: Responsible for brand promotion, market expansion, and public relations.
……
Each unfamiliar position, with its clearly defined responsibilities, formed a well-structured, efficiently operating enterprise model.
This—this was no Cultivation Sect faction!
It was clearly the embryonic form of a tightly organized business empire!
Wang Teng and the others felt their hearts surge with excitement.
They no longer felt like they had joined some student-like organization, but rather, a great institution destined to change the entire Cultivation World!
“Have you understood?”
Chu Feng’s voice sounded. “This is the future direction of our Ascension Group. Each of us is a screw in this great machine—each with their own duties, yet working together in perfect coordination.”
“Wang Teng,”
Chu Feng’s gaze locked onto him. “You have extensive experience leading teams in the Aotian Alliance, and you’re familiar with the inner disciples’ circumstances. From now on, I appoint you as the Executive Director of Market Department One.”
“Market Department One? Executive Director?”
Wang Teng was stunned.
“That’s right.”
Chu Feng explained, “You five, along with the other inner disciples who defected from the Aotian Alliance, will form Market Department One. Your first KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is to completely integrate the remaining forces of the former Aotian Alliance—absorb them all into our Ascension Group.”
“At the same time, you’ll be responsible for developing the Inner Disciple segment—the ‘high-end market’—spreading our Group’s philosophy and values throughout. I want every inner disciple to understand that joining the Ascension Group is their only path forward!”
“Do you have the confidence to complete this mission?”
Chu Feng asked.
Having the former core of the Aotian Alliance personally dismantle the Alliance—this was a strike that killed both body and heart!
But Wang Teng, at this moment, felt no resistance at all.
Instead, a surge of excitement welled up within him.
This proved the President trusted him! This was his first “pledge of loyalty”!
“Yes!”
Wang Teng stood up abruptly and shouted loudly, “I guarantee to complete the task!”
After assigning Wang Teng and his group, Chu Feng’s gaze fell on Zhang Daniu.
“Daniu.”
“Here, President!”
Zhang Daniu immediately straightened his back.
“From today onward, in addition to serving as Chief Security Officer, you’ll also take on the role of Director of the Corporate Culture Training Department.”
“Ah?”
Zhang Daniu was dumbfounded. “President, what does… ‘corporate culture’ mean?”
Chu Feng smiled. “Simple—it’s teaching our new family members how to shout slogans, how to sing songs, and how to make them understand that our Ascension Group is the best group in the world! This, you’re good at.”
Zhang Daniu’s eyes lit up immediately. He pounded his chest proudly. “Hehe, this I’m good at! President, don’t worry, I’ll make sure they’re all trained to shout till the heavens shake!”
Elder Liu Changqing watched with a pleased smile, stroking his goatee in satisfaction.
He found that his role as “Chief Financial Officer” was simply perfect—for he managed money!
And that was exactly what he was best at.
“All right, today’s interviews and appointments end here.” Chu Feng stood up and announced, “Tomorrow morning, at the third quarter of the Mao hour, we’ll hold the Ascension Group’s first Morning Meeting at the back mountain training ground! No one is allowed to be late! Dismissed!”
……
The next day, before dawn broke—
At the back mountain training ground, a dense crowd of people had already gathered.
Over 1,300 new and old members of the Ascension Group stood neatly in formation, divided into several phalanxes according to their “divisions” — Outer Sect, Chores Courtyard, and Inner Sect (former Aotian Alliance). The atmosphere was solemn and grand.
Everyone carried a trace of curiosity and excitement, waiting for their new President.
At the exact third quarter of Mao hour—without a moment’s delay—
Chu Feng’s figure appeared on the high platform.
He looked at the faces below him, filled with longing and hope, took a deep breath, and picked up the sound-amplifying Conch Horn.
“Dear family members of the Ascension Group!”
“Good morning!”
His voice was loud and filled with passion, echoing throughout the valley.
“Very good! I see that all our family members have arrived on time! What does this show? It shows that we are a team with time awareness, organization, and discipline! This is the first step toward success!”
“Today marks our Ascension Group’s first Morning Meeting! From now on, the Morning Meeting will be one of the most important systems in our Group! Because—the plan for a day lies in the morning! Every day, we must gather here to unify our thoughts, clarify our goals, reflect on the past, and look toward the future!”
Chu Feng’s words were stirring and rousing, making the newcomers below feel their blood boil.
“Now, the first item of our Morning Meeting! Led by our Director of the Corporate Culture Training Department, Zhang Daniu, we will review our Group’s core values and slogans!”
“Let’s welcome Director Daniu!”
Zhang Daniu marched up the platform energetically, took the Conch Horn, cleared his throat, and with all his strength roared:
“Family members! Shout with me!”
“Ascend! Ascend! Boundless power! Eternal Immortal Blessings! Longevity equal to Heaven!”
“When the President takes the stage, the world unites as one!”
“Urah——!”
