Cultivation Chaos: Superheroes In The Realm Of Immorals

Chapter 61: Creation of the Dormant Perfect Life

The divine brilliance dimmed, and the three opened their eyes hurriedly, unwilling to waste even a second in seeing the result.

And right before them lay a man, levitating in the air. Even though he was unconscious and in a sleeping posture, it was as though the world itself couldn't bear to stain him with its filth, so it uplifted him. His skin glowed with a jade-like luster, radiating a ruddy pink hue like that of a newborn.

Every hair on his blemishless body shone with a divine white hue. His figure was so perfect, so beautiful, it was as though the very word flaw had never existed in his book.

Heavens, it was a success — a freaking success, haha! Lu Ming was so happy tears pooled in his eyes, as he was suddenly filled with a sense of fulfillment.

For years he had been insulted, despised, and isolated. If not for his genius, the Seekers would have abandoned him too.

Everyone mocked him whenever he voiced his goals. They shamed him, calling him a madman, telling him his other creations — those flaws of nature — were perfect enough.

But now he had seen his dream come true. He had brought his vision to reality. He had conquered the odds, and here it was — the literal fruit of his labor.

He stood speechless as he gazed at the perfected life, his own creation.

"Master, did we succeed?" his disciple Mu Bai's voice rang out from the side.

Lu Ming just nodded silently, entranced by the silhouette of the newly created being.

"If we succeeded, why is it still unconscious?" Mu Bai questioned once more, scrutinizing the subject closely.

Lu Ming snorted in reply. "You think I would let someone else become perfect before me? All this time my aim wasn't to turn someone else into a perfected being. I just needed to create a perfect life with a dormant mind… which wouldn't last long due to a perfect life's ability to evolve infinitely.

But it would stay dormant just long enough for me to synthesize it, turning its entire genetic structure into a serum… a serum that can make anyone perfect."

Mu Bai's eyes shone with comprehension as he finally understood his teacher's end plan. But thinking of something, his expression turned dull. As though sensing his worries, Lu Ming spoke again, his words cheering the ambitious disciple up.

"Don't worry. From my estimations, a single perfect life can produce three serums. That will be more than enough for us to use. As for the last, we will use it to create another dormant perfect life. And like that, on and on, until our perfect army has been created."

One could sense the ambition laced in Lu Ming's tone. What would happen if a madman like him gained control of such an army?

Spark, long forgotten at the side, wore a grim expression. That madman actually did it! he panicked internally. To think this man unraveled the mystery of his genetics in how many days?

His eyes turned dark as he seemed to understand his fate from here. After all, the only reason he was alive was because of his usefulness. Now that Lu Ming had succeeded, it was a given he would seek to erase Spark, lest someone else use him to replicate his feats.

"Master, what do we do with him then?" Mu Bai asked, his eyes glinting insidiously. He had come to the same conclusion as Spark.

Lu Ming didn't respond right away. He took measured steps toward Spark and spoke, his voice bearing newfound authority. "After a long examination of your genetics, I have come to the conclusion that you are not from our world."

Mu Bai's eyes widened at this. Another world? Something like that exists?

But Spark barely reacted. He was certain Lu Ming was still guessing, and at this moment, any subtle expression of shock, surprise, or acknowledgement would cement the lunatic's guess.

Meanwhile, Lu Ming continued. "And I have come to the conclusion that you being here means there must be others like you… so now I will offer you one last chance.

Take me to more of your kind, and you may live."

By now Lu Ming was already close to Spark, though he didn't put his face near like before. It seemed he had learned his lesson. Instead, he gazed into Spark's eyes, patiently waiting for a reply.

But unfortunately, he got nothing. Since his capture, Spark had never spoken a word to them. The only sounds Lu Ming had ever heard from him were grunts of pain, and that was all.

He shook his head in disappointment. "Too bad. You put stupid things like pride before your life… Dear disciple, when I leave now, I'm going to go make the serum.

Before I get back, I want him to have been on his way to the six paths…"

Mu Bai nodded solemnly, understanding the meaning. Spark was to be killed, and all who had knowledge of him must follow.

Lu Ming covered the levitating, comatose subject with a light fabric, taking the liberty of wheeling the being himself as he exited the room, heading straight to his private lab.

Mu Bai approached Spark and began wheeling the poor mutant to an isolated room where he could meet his death.

Doing it in this room, where guards were lurking outside, would draw their attention. After all, he hadn't forgotten that he was a mortal, and Spark had abilities on par with — or even greater than — cultivators.

Even though Spark was restrained, the meticulous Bai didn't want to risk it. And so they exited the room. To Spark, who had been trapped there for years due to the drug Lu Ming used on him, being out of the room brought a type of ethereal nostalgia.

He wanted to be free. He wanted to see the sky once more. And most importantly, he wanted to rip every Seeker in this underground facility to death.

Unfortunately, he wouldn't get to accomplish all this. He let out a sigh, though his eyes still carried the last embers of hope. As long as he drew breath, he would never give up.

Just as he had this thought, Bai reached an isolated turn. The dark path ahead was dilapidated. He wheeled Spark silently, in high spirits, in a good mood. Why wouldn't he be?

Not only had their project succeeded, but his master had acknowledged his efforts and planned to help him shed his imperfections as well. After staying quite a while with Lu Ming, his mentality had long since rubbed off on Mu Bai.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a projectile swished through the air, aiming to kill him. But thankfully, even though he was a mortal, he was well trained. He rolled out of the path, dodging the attack.

He felt smug at his quick reaction — until he heard the metallic clangs that followed. His expression warped into terror as he realized he was never the target in the first place.

He quickly turned around to stare at the metal carrier. To his horror, Spark's figure was absent. He didn't know how it happened, but the five metal clamps that were supposed to restrain Spark had been cleanly split into halves.

"I'm dead!" he cursed.
