Cultivation Chaos: Superheroes In The Realm Of Immorals

Chapter 37: Arrest-2

To the west of Merchant Wei's mansion, there was a region called the Maidens' Residence—this was the area belonging to Cai'er and her female servants.

And right now, at her bathhouse, there she was—her figure obscured by the steam of the hot spring. Pink lotus flowers floated on the surface of the emerald green spring, giving it a refreshing fragrance.

Surrounding the spring were female servants on standby—one holding a towel, another holding a beautiful attire, and so on.

Back in the spring, Cai'er had just finished her morning shower and stood up, making her way out, her perfectly shaped figure coming into full display. Her curves weren't over-exaggerated; she was endowed moderately. Her slim waist protested against this, giving her hips a curve that made them seem bigger.

Her skin was fully blushed due to the high-temperature bath, but that only further boosted her allure, making her more desirable.

She took brisk steps, reaching the servant with the towel. As she began drying herself, a maid barged in suddenly, as though in a hurry.

Cai'er frowned, clearly displeased, but on seeing the urgent expression on the maid's face, she permitted her to speak.

"Young Miss, the honored guest has just been detained by the Guards of Prosecution. They are claiming that he is the Bloodied Shadow," the maid hurriedly informed in one breath.

Cai'er's delicate features morphed into one of confusion. "Huh?" she let out, startled. For the first time in a long time, she didn't even know what to think.

The Prosecutors she knew held justice and fairness as law. They would never go so low as to accuse the innocent—unless they had valid proof or…

They got the information from a valid source—or at least from someone with enough clout… There are very few royals who meet this requirement, and fewer who would care about our business. Cai'er's mind started working. She found it hard to believe Spark was the Bloodied Shadow.

Well, actually, not that she didn't believe he was—it was simpler to say she didn't believe such a meticulous person could be caught. Just from their brief conversation and negotiations, she had gotten a rough read of his type of person.

And she didn't believe this problem didn't have anything to do with her. After all, Spark wasn't a citizen—so what would anyone gain from going after him?

"It must be the workings of that cunning toad," she finally concluded aloud. And of course, she was referring to Fatty Ji.

Reaching this conclusion, she quickly dressed up and went to see her father. She had to make sure he helped. But on the way to his office, she couldn't help but wonder, Strange… no matter how influential that fat scum is, he could never hope to gain the attention of someone like Captain Haoran.

She quickly barged into her father's office…

Old Wei was doing his usual morning routine—counting his profit of the day—when he saw his daughter rush into his office, her face tense.

He quickly rushed toward her. "Is anything wrong, Cai'er? Did someone offend you? Do you want something? Are you coming down with fever again?" he bombarded her with questions worriedly, while already feeling her temperature and pinching her cheeks.

Cai'er rolled her eyes at her father's antics. She was already used to all this. Pushing his hands away, she pouted as she asked, "Father, haven't you heard? Spark has just been detained by the Prosecutors. They're claiming he is the Bloodied Shadow."

Hearing this, he frowned. "Why hasn't Guo informed me of this yet? That guy's been getting laz—"

Before he could finish his statement, a loud intentional cough rang out, drawing his attention to a figure sitting in the corner.

Guo stood up. "Cough! I've been here to inform you since, Master—but you were too busy to notice me."

The elder's eyes twitched, but he still kept up his thick skin. "Ahem! I've told you repeatedly—if there is important news, be sure to call out to me. Don't be courteous."

Guo just nodded, but deep inside he knew this statement was made halfheartedly. Apart from his children, nothing could distract his master from business—not even the arrival of the Emperor.

After saying that, the elder's face turned serious again. Moving back behind his desk, he sat down and came to the conclusion, "It's Crown Prince Li. It has to be… He should be heading for a mission to expand the empire's borders soon, to prove himself.

For such a dangerous mission, he naturally has to have assurance. I've heard information that he's been looking to purchase a martial artist slave for quite some time. And right at this moment, a heavily injured martial artist happened to enter his domain—it's only natural he would make a move."

The elder coldly deduced, piecing the puzzle together. Cai'er's eyes lit up in admiration. "Indeed, Father is the best. I reached the wrong conclusion then—I thought it was the doings of Viscount Ji."

On hearing his daughter praise him, Merchant Wei's serious face broke into a proud smile. "Humph! Who else is a better dad for Cai'er than me?" But after saying this, his face reverted.

"You didn't conclude wrong, daughter. It must have been the Fatty who sold the information to the prince." At the end of his words, one could see the malevolent expression on his face.

Cai'er frowned for a bit. After thinking, she said, "That means the rumors are true. For the prince to be so boldly looking for martial slaves, his backing must be—"

Before she could finish her speech, her father interrupted her. "Don't say it, dear… the walls have ears," he said with a meaningful smile.

Thinking for a bit, the elder continued, "Don't worry, dear. You just go to the Prosecutors' quarters now. Before you arrive, Father will have already sorted it all, and you can take the lad home," he assured, patting his chest.

Cai'er's face burst into a brilliant smile. "You're the best father." After this, she rushed out.

The moment she left, the elder ordered Guo, "Leave now!"

Guo bowed and left.

Reaching for his drawer, he brought out an ancient-looking scroll. He hesitated for a bit before making up his mind. Then, dipping his feathered pen into ink, he began to write:

DEAR PRINCE JIAN…
