Cultivating Through The Game

Chapter 261: Disguise

Tap tap tap~ Footsteps echoed in the empty corridor as Sha Lan pushed open the stone door and entered the room.

In the room separated by a wall, Lu Yu silently changed his disguise and walked out.

Thanks to the members of the Sha King Hall being dressed in face-covering turbans, Lu Yu dyed his skin to that bronzed look of a Western Desert foreigner. As long as he didn't speak, it was almost impossible to tell him apart from the masked outsiders.

Lu Yu sensed the location of the Asura Evil Spirits and moved in their direction. Inside the Sha King Hall, an unknown force suppressed him, making it harder to establish contact with the spiritual marking.

Only at very close range could he rely on the spiritual marking to observe the surroundings of the target.

Now he could only vaguely sense the position of the spiritual marking and couldn't eavesdrop on the conversations between the Asura Evil Spirits and others.

Pa pa pa~ The sound of barefoot walking came, the footsteps sounding very rushed.

Hearing the approaching footsteps, Lu Yu instinctively stopped, and a figure emerged from the corner. Upon seeing Lu Yu, he shouted loudly, "Quickly, go to the sand vault and get the sand soil, take more."

Seeing Lu Yu still not moving, the man frowned and urged loudly, "What are you waiting for? Hurry up and get things from the sand vault!"

Lu Yu scrutinized the person issuing commands at him, noticing he was slightly different from the Sha King Hall members he had seen before; a golden long feather was inserted into his turban.

This seemed to symbolize that his status was different from ordinary members of the Sha King Hall.

Lu Yu's mind stirred as he moved closer to Sha Wu Jue Di, who frowned even deeper, suspecting something strange about this person.

However, he was very confident in the defense of the Sha King Hall, not suspecting Lu Yu was an outsider disguised.

"Stop!" Sha Wu Jue Di shouted sternly.

Lu Yu ignored his shout, suddenly rising up violently, earthy-yellow brilliance spreading over his body, pressing Sha Wu Jue Di's face hard down to the ground.

Poof~ Earthy-yellow light spread from Lu Yu's body onto Sha Wu Jue Di, both sinking into the floor of the Sha King Hall.

Bang bang bang~ A few muffled thuds sounded underground. Before long, a person with special white cloth wrapped around their head and a golden long feather appeared in the corridor.

Slightly tidying up his attire, Lu Yu cleared his throat and whispered, "Stop."

The voice was identical to that of Sha Wu Jue Di. As a Grandmaster who perfectly controlled his power, mimicking others' voices was an easy task.

Lu Yu, barefoot, strode along the corridor.

Before long, Lu Yu encountered a Sha King Hall member, who upon seeing him, respectfully bowed and greeted, "Greetings, Master of the Sands."

Lu Yu watched the back of his head, thought about it, and said, "There's not enough sand soil, go to the sand vault and bring some."

Upon hearing this, the Sha King Hall member responded, "Yes."

He turned and headed toward the sand vault, Lu Yu following his footsteps. That person looked back slightly puzzled at the Master of Sands but did not ask why Lu Yu was following him.

Lu Yu followed that person all the way to the sand vault.

The sand vault was the warehouse within the Sha King Hall, storing treasures accumulated over countless years.

Upon seeing Lu Yu arrive, the guard keeping the sand vault respectfully greeted him, saying, "Master of the Sands."

Lu Yu did not know what to say, so he simply nodded slightly, gesturing to the Sha King Hall member in front of him to get the sand soil.

Seeing Lu Yu's signal, that person went forward and conversed with the guard for a moment, took out a token, and the guard opened the flowing sand door of the sand vault, letting him enter.

After the person entered the sand vault, the guard closed the door and glanced at the Master of Sands standing outside, wanting to ask if he had any other instructions but hesitated and said nothing.

Among the Masters of Sands, only Master Sha Lan was known to be approachable, while the others were rather peculiar, treating Sha King Hall members poorly. The Master of Sands before him was clearly not Master Sha Lan.

Lu Yu silently split off a piece of his spiritual fragment, attaching it to the guard at the sand vault, marking the location of the sand vault.

If an opportunity arises, he could come back for a haul before leaving.

After waiting for a while outside, the flowing sand door to the sand vault opened again, and that Sha King Hall member emerged, carrying a stone-made basin and bowl. Inside the stone basin, strip-like sand soil wriggled continuously, looking like a living creature.

That member was surprised to see Lu Yu still standing at the door, not expecting that the Master of Sands was still there.

He paused at the sand vault door, feeling somewhat at a loss. Why was the Master of Sands acting strangely?

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and deliver it," Lu Yu said in a rather strict tone before that person could try probing him.

Upon hearing this, that person bowed and hurriedly sprinted towards the destination with the stone basin.

Watching him leave, Lu Yu slightly nodded at the sand vault guards, who appeared invigorated as if they had received praise.

After Lu Yu left, the two excitedly said, "Just now, the Master of Sands nodded towards me, he must be praising my good work."

"Nonsense, the Master of Sands clearly nodded at me."

The two argued non-stop, their voices echoing in the empty corridor.

Lu Yu, hearing their conversation via the spiritual marking and comparing it with the sound carried through the air, deduced the maximum eavesdropping range of the spiritual marking within the Sha King Hall.
