Bang bang bang~ Bullets flew wildly inside the corridor. Several jumping pieces of flesh were hit by bullets, shattered into even smaller pieces which wriggled on the ground, their ability to move significantly diminished.

Seeing that several meat worms had been smashed by bullets, the guards looked relieved, "Looks like firearms still work. Thought it was some terrifying monster, turns out it's this weak."

Grinding down the crawling pieces of flesh, guards kicked away any chunks at their feet. They had already gotten used to these chunks of flesh still moving after being shattered. Researchers often carried moving bloody flesh around the institute.

"You stepped on me." A voice that could hardly be differentiated between male and female rang out.

"Who goes there?" The guard quickly raised his gun, scanning the passage around with vigilance, shouting loudly to bolster his courage.

Suddenly hearing a strange voice neither male nor female, a few guards were quite startled, especially encountering a crisis during relaxation after tension, the sense of fright was even stronger.

Plop~ A figure draped in a white lab coat appeared in everyone's view. The demon man gazed at Chi Yan behind them, glanced at the guard who had crushed its flesh, and the corner of its mouth slightly curled up.

He held a bullet and pressed it into the guard's body with his fingers, causing the guard to cry out in pain and agony.

"Let him go!" A guard pointed a gun at the demon man's head, shouting loudly.

The demon man ignored him completely. That guard pulled the trigger directly, the bullet striking the demon man's head, tearing it apart and exposing the skull within. Sparks flew where the bullet collided with the skull.

Boom! The demon man suddenly felt it had lost its hearing as a bullet accidentally entered its ear canal, striking its brain from a place unprotected by the skull.

The demon man's face contorted fiercely, crushing the guard in its hand. Its flesh and blood surged, transforming into fine tentacles that invaded all orifices of the guard who wounded him.

Brutally tearing the guard's body apart.

Reaching into its ear hole, it extracted the bullet lodged in its brain. Staring at the bullet, the demon man displayed a sinister demeanor, squeezing it forcefully until it shattered.

Looking up at the guards taking Chi Yan away, the damaged flesh and blood around its right ear wriggled rapidly, wounds healing swiftly, but the demon man still felt its hearing had diminished, its right ear somewhat unclear.

Perhaps the brain was damaged and hadn't fully recovered.

Or maybe the regenerated part of the brain wasn't as functional as the original, causing its hearing not to restore fully.
