Chapter 1492 Rising Water

Chapter 1492  Rising Water

Even if the river below him was incredibly dangerous even for someone in the Soul Ascension Realm from what he could remember about it, Chu Yang still felt a sense of relief upon seeing it.

"If I follow the edge of the river, I should be able to find a way out of this secret realm."

And the reason for this relief was because he already knew about the location of two paths out of this secret realm, one of them being in the ancient city ruins that were located right next to the edge of the Dead Spirit Canyon that the massive river flowed through.

In the worst-case scenario, he would be on the other side of the Dead Spirit Canyon and would have to travel back the same path he had originally travelled through the secret realm to reach the Dead Spirit Canyon in the first place. After all, the teleportation formation he had used back then to travel safely across the Dead Spirit canyon had been destroyed after he had used it.

Even though it would undoubtedly be a dangerous endeavor, he still felt that it was far better than finding himself trapped in some unknown secret realm without any idea about how to leave.

At the moment, the most worrying thing was the fact that he still clearly remembered how those people had clearly talked about how dangerous it had been to follow the edge of the Dead Spirit Canyon.

From what he could see around him and the fact that he had not encountered anything that threatened his life so far, he could be certain that he was not in one of those dangerous areas that had been mentioned by them, but that didn't mean he could let his guard down, as he would almost certainly have to pass through one of the dangerous regions mentioned by those people if he was on the side of the Dead Spirit Canyon where the tower with the now destroyed teleportation formation was located.

Continuing to travel along the edge of the Dead Spirit Canyon with a clear goal in mind, Chu Yang ended up spending the next few days with the forest still located right beside him before the forest finally came to an end before being replaced by a familiar looking grass plain filled with nothing but empty space, just like how he had remembered the area next to the Dead Spirit Canyon had been in the past when he had been there.

The main difference was that he now felt himself being restricted once again, as he could no longer fly through the air with the help of his domain.

In a sense, it was reassuring to him that the surroundings had become more familiar, but at the same time he also understood that if the forest he had gone through earlier was indeed one of the dangerous regions that had been mentioned by that group of people in the past, it would at least be three days until he reached either the remnants of the ancient tower or the ancient city.

So, with that in mind, Chu Yang continued moving forward with the violent river of the Dead Spirit Canyon right next to him almost spraying water on to his face as he traveled along the side of the river-

Wait… How can water reach me all the way up here? There should at least be a hundred or so meters down from the cliff edge to the water…

Freezing on the spot as he finally noticed something unusual that he hadn't been paying attention to before, Chu Yang cautiously peered over the edge of the cliff and looked down towards the violent waters below.

Only to discover that the water that should have been far from reaching him was now only a few meters away from reaching the edge of the cliff.

Meaning that in the months since he had been to this secret realm, the waters had risen far above their previous levels.

Not just that, but as he focused his attention on the violent water, he realized that it was still rising and not slow in any way, as it seemed to be accelerating in the speed that it was rising.

At the current pace that the water was rising and the speed that the rise was increasing, he guessed that it would at most be another week before the violent waters ended up rising above the cliff edge and flooded the grass plains that were to his other side.

Given the dangers of those waters and the fact that even someone in the Soul Ascension realm couldn't safely traverse them, Chu Yang didn't want to end up having to deal with a situation where his location was flooded with said water.

The only positive thing was that he should be able to reach an entrance out of the secret realm if he continued forward for another three or so days. Meaning that he would have more than enough time to leave before the water ended up splining over and started flooding the grass plains.

In the worst-case scenario that he was not on the side of the ancient city, he should still have more than enough time to make his way back in the direction of the second entrance of the secret realm before the water started affecting him.

After all, even if it started spilling over the edge of its normal banks and flooded the grass plains next to it, he should be more than capable of avoiding it if he left in time.

Not to mention. The desert he would have to travel through would provide a good barrier for sucking up water in case it really ended up flooding beyond the grass plains. Giving him even more time to escape in a worst-case scenario.

All things considered, Chu Yang wasn't too worried about the situation, as he just decided to keep an eye on the violent river in case something unexpected ended up happening.
