Crownless Reincarnation: New World? Nah I'd win

Chapter 234: Cure of Empress [3]

His breath was caught in his throat as he saw her for the first time.

The empress of the elven kingdom….

…..Was now devoid of her curse that had been haunting her entire life.

The golden light spilled across the chamber, warm and pure, chasing away every shadow that clung to the corners of the room.

Sephrina stood in the center, her body trembling but upright, her pale skin glowing faintly as though she had been reborn in sunlight.

Her hair, once dulled by years of strain, now glowed in pure gold.

Even her eyes, heavy and tired for as long as Akamir had known her, burned bright with golden fire.

It was the first time Akamir had seen her completely.

And his heartbeat was not slowing down whatsoever.

'…Damn, she really is the most beautiful.'

Even though the curse was gone, her beauty was still there.

She was still the most beautiful woman in the entire continent.

She raised her hand slowly, staring at her reflection in the golden glow still clinging to her veins.

Her lips parted in disbelief.

"…It's gone," she whispered, her voice trembling. "The weight… the chains… I can't feel them anymore."

Saia fluttered onto the bed, her wings glittering. "The curse is shattered. You're free, Empress."

Sephrina staggered, knees threatening to buckle, but Akamir was already there.

His hand caught her arm, steadying her.

"Careful," he said, his voice calm but firm. "The curse fought you for decades. Its absence will feel like you're missing a limb."

Sephrina looked up at him, her chest heaving.

She wanted to speak, but her throat caught.

Instead, she buried her face briefly against his chest, just once, like a woman allowing herself a single stolen moment of weakness.

Then she pulled away, her eyes burning not with tears… but resolve.

Akamir tilted his face as he kept on staring at her face.

'…She really is beautiful.'

He couldn't help but look at her again and again.

Sephrina clenched her fists, the faint light still flickering beneath her skin. "I feel like I have broken through."

"Huh?" Akamir came back to his senses. "Well, congratulations—!"

His words halted in the middle as she quickly jumped at him.

Before Akamir could realize what happened, she had pinned him on the bed.

Her hands grabbed onto his while she straddled his waist.

A small smile beamed on her face as she said. "Would you look at that. I am stronger than you now."

Akamir blinked, his lips twitched as her weight pressed down on him.

"…Stronger than me?" he repeated flatly.

His voice was calm, but there was a faint edge of amusement buried beneath it.

Sephrina leaned closer, her golden eyes glowing in the dim light, her breath warm against his mask.

"You said it yourself—I'm no longer broken. This body, this power…" her fingers tightened around his wrists, testing her newfound strength,

"…I feel like I could tear the palace walls apart."

Akamir let her hold him for a moment. He could easily break free, but he didn't. Instead, he tilted his head slightly, his tone dry.

"Don't let freedom turn into arrogance. You've been reborn, Sephrina… not crowned above me."

Her smile widened into a grin.

"And yet, here you are," she teased, pressing down harder against his wrists. "Pinned under me. Tell me, husband, are you letting me win?"

Akamir finally chuckled, low and dangerous. "If I weren't, you'd already be on the floor."

Golden fire rippled faintly across her arms as if testing him, daring him to prove it.

But instead of throwing her off, Akamir let the silence stretch.

She leaned forward as she kissed his lips gently.

Her ample breasts pressed on his chest tightly.

As the kiss deepened, Akamir felt her body slowly turning limp.

'Hm?'

Before he could understand, Sephrina lost her consciousness.

'...'

He slowly put her aside as she lay there with her eyes closed.

"She was exhausted." Lili said, laying on the bed beside her. "Must be the result of continuous mental drain."

Akamir nodded as he stood up from the bed and cleared his throat.

Saia, who was floating in the air with half her eyes closed, slowly sat back on his shoulder.

"Well, I will leave her in your care." Akamir said, as he smiled towards Lili.

Lili's face immediately fell down. "Are you going back?"

Akamir rubbed the back of his neck. "….Yeah, it's important."

She nodded as she waved her hand. "Then I will see you soon."

Akamir waved back as he walked out of her room.

With a long sigh, he summoned his crown again and opened a portal.

[Spirit World]

Akamir drew in a deep breath as he stood within the dome close to the Old Court.

His eyes moved around the place as he found Nayomi floating closely.

"I am planning to break through." Akamir replied, looking into her eyes.

She blinked in surprise but then nodded softly. "You have already waited long enough."

Akamir nodded as well as he summoned his status screen.

Akamir let out a sigh as he examined his status after a long time.

He studied the glowing screen floating before him.

"Tier five core, almost full saturation," he murmured, his breath misting faintly in the cool spirit air. "Just one step."

Nayomi hovered closer, arms folded.

The pale shimmer of her presence danced in the dome's quiet glow.

"You've been holding it back for months," she said. "Most people would have broken through the moment they touched fifty."

Akamir's lips curved slightly under the mask.

"Most people aren't me. Rushing only wastes potential."

He closed his eyes, feeling the pressure of his mana coiled inside like a storm behind glass.

"It's time to use everything I've gathered."

Saia fluttered forward, golden wings trailing motes of light.

She moved back to give him more space to himself.

Akamir stepped to the center of the spirit dome.

Blue light wrapped around him like a second skin.

Akamir exhaled once, long and slow.

Mana from every direction began to surge toward him.

They wove together, spiraling into a vortex that shook the entire spirit dome.

'Alright, everything will be same.'

Akamir thought, calming his mind down for the next step.

'All I need is exhaust my core and fill it again until it broke and I reach the purple core.'

The dome deepened into silence as Akamir's thoughts sank inward.

Every heartbeat matched the low hum of his core, a soundless thrum that filled his mind.

He lowered himself to the floor, crossing his legs.

He closed his eyes and let his will sharpen, mana surged outward in a sudden rush.

The ground beneath him cracked as he began to let go of all mana.

The blue core dimmed, a hollow echo below his abdomen.

Akamir inhaled.

Then he drew everything back.

Mana from every corner of the dome snapped toward him like rivers reversing their course.

Saia and Nayomi shielded their eyes as wind roared outward, bending even the walls of spirit-light.

A sound like shattering glass echoed inside his soul.

The blue core fractured.

Hairline cracks spread across its crystalline surface, glowing with a deep violet light.

Akamir's mind was perfectly still.

Again.

He exhaled, forcing the energy out once more.

Frost streamed from his fingertips, the ground whitening to pure diamond.

The cracks widened, violet glow spilling like liquid fire.

One final time, he emptied everything—draining every drop of mana until even the spirit light dimmed.

For a heartbeat the dome was pure void.

Then he called it back.

Every fragment of power, every ounce of mana and chi, every memory bound to his soul returned at once.

The blue crystal inside him shattered.

A shockwave burst from his body, deep violet and silver, painting the dome in aurora-like bands.

Space itself seemed to bend as a new core formed—a perfect sphere of amethyst light, smooth and endlessly deep.

Akamir opened his eyes.

They glowed a calm, cold violet that caught every glimmer on his crimson eyes.

He flexed his hand, power rolled through him like a second heartbeat.

"Purple core," he said quietly. "Finally."

Saia landed lightly on his shoulder, her golden light soft against the violet haze.

Akamir rose to his feet.

Nayomi greeted him with a rare smile on her face.

"Congratulations." She said. "You are the strongest human now."

Akamir nodded his head as he smiled back.

"Well." Akamir said, stretching his body. "Guess, I need to get out."

Nayomi looked back as he walked past her. "Where?"

Akamir's smile deepened. "To explore the bigger world."
