Crossover: I Took In a Runaway High School Girl

Chapter 130: Yuigahama Yui Learns to Bake

The scene shifted to the familiar Service Clubroom.

Yukinoshita Yukino rarely tied her shimmering black hair into two natural braids that fell on either side of her cheeks. She was already cute, and wearing an apron with this hairstyle, she looked like a beautiful little chef. Though her front was relatively flat, her slender figure ironically made her appear more promising.

However, Yukino currently had a headache.

The cause stemmed from the bun-haired girl wearing a luxurious pink apron beside her. It was Yuigahama Yui. At this moment, the three of them—Yukino, Yui, and Sumireko Sanshokuin—were in the cooking room, wrestling with cake batter.

Two cakes with alluring colors, fragrances, and tastes were already laid out on the table. These were the masterpieces of Yukino and Sumireko.

Finally, it was Yui's turn for her cake to be finished. But the scorched black surface was proof of how terrible her cooking talent was.

By the way, Sumireko was wearing a blue apron. She still had her ponytail, but she had taken off her glasses. Her figure was truly impressive, even surpassing Yui in an instant. But a girl's worth, of course, was not entirely reflected in her bust.

Yukino tried hard not to glance at Sumireko, instead keeping her straight face and focusing on teaching Yui. She looked at Yui's burnt black cake, tried to put it to her lips and bite it, and almost lost a tooth.

The girl stared at Yui beside her with a dark face. "Yuigahama, what did you secretly add to the cake when you made it?" Yukino's voice was cold, yet there was a note of frustration in it. "I can't bite it at all!"

Sumireko also had an indescribable expression. She and Yukino had taught Yui how to make cakes many times, but Yui seemed unable to grasp it. And, it didn't matter if she wasn't good at cooking. The problem was, she didn't seem to be able to distinguish seasonings. When cooking, she often ran into problems. If left unsupervised, she would have her own ideas and add something inexplicable.

Facing Yukino's sharp gaze, Yui looked guilty. She smiled awkwardly and said, "Haha, that... it seems I'm really not suited for cooking, so let's just forget about it."

She said she was giving up, but deep down, Yui herself didn't want to. She had already boasted in front of Renji that she would give him her own handmade cake. If she gave up now, she would look down on herself.

Hearing this, Yukino's face became even colder, filled with pent-up anger. "Yuigahama, there's nothing you can't master. As long as you work hard, cake is not difficult." Yukino's tone became more severe. "Besides, can you look me in the eye when you speak?" A pause. "It's not bad to be clumsy in cooking. But please respect me and Sanshokuin who taught you this afternoon! Don't you feel ashamed to blame others for being too kind for your foolishness, incompetence, and cowardice, and give up the fruits of your hard work this afternoon?"

After Yukino finished speaking, Yuigahama Yui widened her eyes, surprised.

Sumireko stared at Yukino speechlessly. She seemed to know why Yukino had no friends. This president was too blunt. Although Yui's behavior was outrageous and annoying, you couldn't say that—it would make Yui cry. Sumireko felt very worried about the club president's social life. She opened her mouth and was about to say something to lighten the mood.

However, Yuigahama Yui looked at Yukino with admiration and blurted out an unexpected sentence. "So... so handsome! Yukinoshita!"

"Huh?" Both Yukino and Sumireko were stunned.

"I mean, you're so handsome! I definitely can't express my thoughts as honestly as Yukinoshita." Yui explained, her eyes glinting with sincerity.

Yukinoshita Yukino felt a little embarrassed. I guess I myself was a bit too much. Yuigahama, is this... really okay?

After hearing this, Yuigahama Yui raised her hand and touched the bun on her head, then smiled, "It's really too much, but you're absolutely right." She lowered her head, then looked at Yukino again with determination. "I... I'm actually used to agreeing with others, so I can't express my thoughts as honestly as Yukinoshita." Her eyes sparkled. "Besides, I really don't want to give up just like that."

Sumireko looked at the blushing Yukino, then smiled teasingly. The president isn't being frank at all. I can only say that Yui is still too naive.

Yukino's face flushed from the compliment, and she couldn't keep losing her temper. Instead, she tried to speak to Yui in a softer tone, "Since you know your problem, then work hard to make a change." Her tone softened slightly. "Yuigahama, haven't you already made progress now? At least the cakes are formed, even if they look like poison and are hard and inedible."

"It's so painful to say it's poisonous! But it seems to be true." Yui complained, and then touched the back of her head, a little embarrassed.

Yukino sighed. "I'll watch you cook the whole time. Follow the recipe step by step. I won't let you add strange things." She paused, looking at Yui. "By the way, do you usually cook yourself?"

"No, my mom has forbidden me from entering the kitchen ever since I almost blew it up." Yui admitted with a pout.

Yukinoshita Yukino: "..."

Sumireko Sanshokuin: "..."

Yui saw them both speechless, suddenly feeling a little ashamed. "Don't look at me like that, anyway... I'm just not good at it, wuwu, I'm working hard to learn it now, I'm still very motivated." As a girl, not being able to cook was a big stain on her femininity. It was a flaw she had to fix.

Yukino seriously reminded her, "This is just making cakes now, it's not considered cooking." If she can't even make cakes like this, don't expect her to cook. Her mother was right to forbid her from entering the kitchen. Cakes had detailed steps to make them, and she and Sumireko patiently taught her. In the end, they were still burnt, which was also a talent in itself.

Subsequently, Yukinoshita Yukino continued to teach Yuigahama Yui how to make cakes. Sumireko was assigned a task by the president, focusing on Yui's hands and not letting her put strange seasonings in them.

As a result, in the end, Yui's cake was still 3.1 points different from the other two cakes. But it was still an improvement. Although slightly burnt, at least it was edible...

But Yuigahama Yui almost cried. If she gave such a burnt cake to Renji, she would definitely cry if he didn't like it.

Yukinoshita Yukino and Sumireko Sanshokuin both had headaches. "There's no time today, let's continue tomorrow."

Yui nodded weakly. It seemed she could only let Renji continue to look forward to it. But she had promised to give it to him after school in the afternoon. Wouldn't it be bad to break a promise now? Not keeping promises was a huge deduction for a woman's image.

"Alright, take your handmade cakes with you. Don't waste the ingredients," Yukino finally said.
