Crossover: I Took In a Runaway High School Girl

Chapter 120: Conversation with Runa Kusami

Renji Kamisaka naturally wouldn't refuse the pretty girl's request. After all, what harm was there in a brief chat with a girl? Moreover, a new face amidst the school's bustle always captured his attention.

So, he ignored the sharp, envious gazes from the boys in class—gazes that felt like a thousand tiny needles pricking his back—and stepped out into the increasingly quiet corridor with Runa Kusami. Their footsteps echoed faintly, blending with the distant murmurs from other classrooms.

Inside the classroom, Hazuki Yasuo felt a familiar wave of anxiety. His brow furrowed slightly as he watched them leave, yet he said nothing. Though curious, he wouldn't pry into the secrets of others' hearts. That was his life's principle. Runa was his childhood friend, his best friend, so he wouldn't ask about it. However, the silence felt heavy. He didn't ask anything. Doesn't that mean he doesn't care about Runa Kusami? he thought, feeling a little conflicted. If you truly like a girl, seeing her call a guy to chat alone, how could you not ask? A creeping doubt began to gnaw at his perpetually kind heart, a rare and unsettling feeling for him.

They found a quiet spot, a rarely used corner of the corridor, where the late afternoon sunlight filtered gently through a high window, painting specks of dust in the air. Renji looked at the beautiful blue-haired girl in front of him, his eyes momentarily drawn to her ample chest beneath her uniform. He cleared his throat twice, a small smirk hidden by the gesture, and said, his voice dropping to a serious tone:

"Runa, what did you want to tell me?"

Runa Kusami took a deep breath, as if bracing herself for a confession. "Could you please break up with Sumireko Sanshokuin?" Her watery eyes conveyed a sincere, almost desperate plea. "Hazuki Yasuo really likes Sumireko, and I… I want to help them."

Renji merely rolled his eyes, his expression clearly showing disbelief. "No way. What are you thinking?" His voice was filled with annoyance.

The corner of Runa Kusami's mouth lifted slightly, a bitter smile etched on her lips. "I just said it tentatively," she admitted, almost to herself, "and I had an inexplicable sigh in my heart."

"What sigh?" Renji was a little curious about this girl's way of thinking. It was so strange.

"It's just a sigh. It's how you show you care about someone," Runa explained, her gaze softening, a hint of longing in it. "Just like you like Sumireko, you want to possess her, you don't want to break up, and you don't want other boys to approach her. That's a very masculine behavior."

"So, why do you feel this way?" Renji pressed on, his tone questioning, but his eyes sharply observing her every expression.

Runa Kusami lowered her head, sighing deeply, her shoulders shaking slightly. "Because I suddenly realized… that Hazuki Yasuo is a little abnormal, and even I, Momo Sakurabara, who have been with him for so long, are abnormal." There was a resigned note in her voice.

"You're still self-aware, and you understood it's not too late. Can a normal person ask me to break up with my girlfriend and make another boy happy?" Renji couldn't help but complain, slightly frustrated by their unique mindset.

"I'm so sorry. I was too sudden. I don't know you well, but I still asked you to test you." Runa Kusami bowed deeply to apologize to him. Her ample chest seemed about to burst, pulsating with her movements.

Renji's eyelids twitched. Hazuki Yasuo is truly abnormal, he thought. Can a normal person turn a blind eye to such a beautiful and curvaceous childhood friend?

"Since you're older, I'll forgive you." Renji smiled faintly, trying to lighten the mood.

"Ah? Because I'm older?" Runa looked at him in confusion, her face slightly flushed. Following Renji's gaze, she subconsciously lowered her head. Her eyes fell on her prominent figure.

"Ah! You... pervert!" Runa Kusami blushed crimson, quickly crossing her arms in front of her chest, staring at him warily, her eyes narrowed.

Renji scoffed dismissively. "Sumireko has a better figure than you, so there's no need to be so wary." Meaning, you're not worthy of me being a pervert and directly attacking.

Runa Kusami was slightly displeased, Renji's words pricking her pride. She couldn't help but stare at him with her beautiful eyes, her expression a mix of anger and sadness. But seeing that Renji was completely unmoved, she felt frustrated again.

"Am I really that bad?" she murmured, more to herself. "Is it Hazuki Yasuo or you, neither of you likes me?"

Renji smiled, his tone turning more serious, more like a consultant. "Runa, what are you worrying about? If you had no charm, the boys in class wouldn't always be sneaking glances at you." He glanced at Runa, as if to highlight how obvious her appeal was. "Of course, if you insist on comparing yourself to Sumireko, I won't say anything."

"There's a saying that the underdog knows no fear. I guess it's because you and Momo Sakurabara are too kind to Hazuki Yasuo, so he hasn't noticed your charm." Renji offered a piece of advice, his voice slightly lowered. "Do you understand playing hard to get? You should ignore him for a while and let him think about what he'll become without your attention."

Hearing this, Runa Kusami felt a little ashamed, her cheeks flushing. "Why, have you already tried this method, then you were defeated by his smile and thoughtful words?"

Runa Kusami nodded blankly, her eyes wide. She just thought Renji was too amazing, guessing it right on the first try.

Renji: "....." He let out a long sigh, a little disappointed but also amused. "Consider it unsaid."

"Love is blind. A girl's sincerity should not be trampled upon or ignored." Renji continued, his tone a little sharper, reflecting his annoyance at Hazuki Yasuo. "Actually, I pulled Hazuki Yasuo out earlier and told him that you and Momo Sakurabara liked him and wanted to date him, but he seemed to not believe it."

"I thought you were with him out of pure friendship."

Renji's words made Runa Kusami's eyes moist, welling up with tears. A fact that pierced her heart.

"Is that so?" She wiped a tear from her eye and smiled bitterly, a smile that held a hint of despair. "That's always Hazuki Yasuo's style."

Renji sighed, a mix of sympathy and frustration. He suddenly raised his hand and pinched her chin, making her look into his eyes. "So, why do you have to choose him? Don't you think that's too humble?" His tone was now softer, but insistent.

"That guy doesn't feel your feelings at all." Renji continued, his gaze piercing into Runa's eyes. "If he had other feelings for you, after what I said, shouldn't he confess to the person he likes more and then confirm the relationship?" Renji paused, giving Runa space to digest. "Of course, if he likes both and wants to have two relationships, then just ignore what I said."

"Girls should cherish themselves, Runa, you're pretty good, but you're amazing, right?" Renji smiled. "And Momo, as the student council president, you shouldn't be lacking in suitors, right?"

After Renji finished speaking, he released her chin, looked at Runa's slightly red and confused face, and teased:

"If I were Hazuki Yasuo, I wouldn't let you and Momo go."

"Alright, is there anything else you want to say? If not, I'll go back. Who knows what the boys in class will say." Renji glanced towards the classroom, his expression slightly amused at the thought of the rumors that would spread. "Maybe tomorrow there'll be rumors that I assaulted the beautiful exchange student."

Hearing this, Runa Kusami couldn't help but laugh, a bitter but genuine smile. "I think the existence of such rumors cannot be separated from your behavior."

"If you mean my action of pinching your chin, I admit I wanted to hit on you a little, but I also wanted you to understand your charm. Why do you have to blame yourself and be Hazuki Yasuo's wingman?" Renji retorted, his eyes sparkling.

"Please don't hurt yourself anymore. As Sumireko's boyfriend, you are also Sumireko's friend. Please tell this to Momo Sakurabara." Runa nodded, a new determination dawning in her eyes.

After saying that, Renji turned and left, his steps light.

Runa Kusami stared blankly at his retreating back, her mind racing. Unconsciously, she covered her chest, feeling her heartbeat.

"Don't you feel wronged?" She suddenly couldn't help but laugh, a slightly bitter but relieved laugh.

"Yes, why do Momo and I feel wronged?" she murmured to herself, as if a big decision had been made. "Hazuki Yasuo, you made us all sick."

Renji and Runa returned to the classroom one after another, with a slight pause between them. As soon as Renji sat down in his seat, Shiina Mahiru poked his arm with her hand, a mischievous smile on her face.

"Get it?" Mahiru whispered, her eyes twinkling mischievously.

"What do you mean?" Renji raised his eyebrows, pretending not to understand.

"Of course, it's Runa Kusami."

"Nonsense, what can you do in such a short time? And with Mahiru here, I'll take you first." Renji pinched Mahiru's cheek, trying to divert the conversation.

Shiina Mahiru smiled playfully, her gaze full of promise. "Then tonight, I'll be waiting for you."

Renji suddenly felt his mouth dry and throat parched. A sweet dilemma.

Or call Shiina Mashiro tonight? Play a double line together? Feed the angels some delicious food? Renji thought, a sly smile appearing on his lips.
