Crimson System of Vampire Prince

Chapter 37: Killing Imps

Cackle!

Screech!

Victor looked around himself. He could hear sounds clearly, but the dark Miasma decreased his visibility to zero.

Ding!

[Cursed Body Activated]

He grinned at the notification. "Now let's have fun, let's get rid of these disgusting monkeys." He muttered and straightened his revolvers.

Screech!

He spun as he heard the shrieks of Imp approaching him.

Bang! Bang!

Thud!

At his feet, an Imp fell with its lower body mangled.

GRRR!

It growled in pain.

Screech, Screech!

The rhythmic crying resonated around him; it felt like the Imps became agitated hearing the gunshots.

A shadow of imp hurled at him.

Bang!

His shot missed, and Imp landed on his thigh.

"Arrghh!" A scream escaped his throat as it bit his thigh.

"Fuck, here, eat this," He put the gun to its head and—

Bang!

Another jumped at his back.

"ahhh, fuck" He groaned.

His hand reached behind and yanked it by grabbing its tail.

Shriek!

It shrieked.

He brought it before him like a mouse and fired at its head. Another shot reverberated, and another Imp fell. His eyes darted around, observing the Miasma.

The growling and screaming sounds echoed; it felt like Imps weren't jumping but encircling him. He gritted his teeth with stinging pain coming from his several wounds.

"Let's use that skill!"

[Rank-D Skill]

A warmth spread around his body, healing all the bites and screeches.

"Victor, use your Origin Magic in bullets; they'll become more effective," Kate shouted.

"Oh, right, why didn't I think of it?" He muttered.

Grrrr!

Four Imps jumped at him at the same time. Without much thought, he fired at them.

Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang!

With two revolvers, four shots were fired, and all of them missed the target, only injuring the two.

GRRR!

He jumped and rolled to dodge those annoying Imps. 'How can I embed the origin magic in bullets?' he thought in frustration.

Slash!

"Ahh, fuck these little shits." He jumped upright as one Imp slashed his leg.

Bang!

He fired at its head. With a sick boom, its head got blown into pieces with ink-blood splattering on his face.

"Ahh, fucking disgusting." He shouted.

Click-click

"I need a refill; would you kindly pause for a second?" He muttered to Imps as his twin storm ran out of bullets.

Grrr!

"I guess not." He shrugged and glared at three Imps circling him.

Click.

He reloaded the revolvers and looked around cautiously. Now four Imps were dead, one with a mangled body, and the other eight encircled him. They jumped like monkeys and walked on all fours. Their large, pointy ears twitching and their big, black eyes gazed at him with fear and something else—hunger.

Screech!

With a screech, three Imps lunged at him. He flinched and stumbled backward.

Click.

Grr!

"Ahhh!" He screamed as the one Imp bit his inner thigh, dangling by his leg. He seethed, stopped reloading, and fired at its head.

Bang!

Its lifeless, headless body fell on the ground.

The other two, who were standing behind, one upper and the other lower back, trembled. He didn't stop; he pointed the guns at both of them and fired.

Thud!

Both Imps fell on the ground. They screamed in pain as the bullets didn't take their life. He stepped above them and fired.

Bang!

And their small heads splattered like a watermelon.

"Five remaining."

He looked at the remaining imps. He felt burning pain from scratches and bites. He growled, "Fucking annoying little turds."

The sound of gunshots reverberated outside the golden dome, accompanied by the shrieking sound of the Imps.

"Is he okay?" Kate asked with flickering eyes.

Feena shook her head and muttered, looking outside, "I don't know, but I hope nothing happens to him."

Kate nodded quietly, her eyes shaking. 'I think my life has been connected with him, and it's inseparable.' A thought came to her mind as she felt clarity. Noise quieted down.

Their eyes flickered, and hearts raced in fear.

Click-clack.

A clear sound of the boots against the floor sounded, and Miasma scattered. Victor appeared, with several bleeding scratches around his shirtless upper body and ripped pants, soaking in red. As he stepped toward the flickering golden dome, dark smoke vanished away.

Feena took a relieved breath and retrieved the golden dome. Victor collapsed, his chest heaving as he gasped for air. Feena and Kate both ran toward him. Kate took out a green, shimmering potion and crouched beside him.

He gulped down the bitter potion and instantly felt warmth spreading around his body. His wounds healed instantly. He felt energetic.

"High-grade healing potion!" Feena exclaimed.

Kate didn't even look at her. She asked, "Are you alright?"

He opened his eyes and gave a tired smile to her, "Thanks, Kate, yes, I'm feeling better." Kate's tense body relaxed, and she took a relieved breath.

"You were not corrupted?" Feena asked with narrowed eyes, scanning him from head to toe.

"Yes, I don't get corrupted from the Miasma. I have a trait. But I have several questions to ask about these imps, too." He replied, sitting up.

"What kind of a trait!" Feena exclaimed. Kate also looked at him curiously.

He shook his head and asked, " These Imps, they don't raise fear in our hearts?"

"No, they don't. They cause hallucinations, and the only dominant emotion in them is lust. But can you tell us what kind of trait is this? It may change the world and give us the upper hand against the aliens." Feena asked, closing the distance.

He sighed and glanced at both girls. After a few seconds, he replied, "My body trait, I was blessed by the Moon goddess with this trait. I can't tell you more than that, and remember the System Oath also applies to this knowledge."

Feena frowned and muttered to herself, "The ancient Vampires were Moon Goddess's followers. Her authority was equal to our God and the Holy Goddess Gaia's. No, not equal, many records say she had more authority."

But her words were loud enough to be heard by Kate and Victor.

"What?" Kate shouted at Feena.

"Moon Goddess was not of the Lower Gods; she was a higher Goddess. People don't have much ancient knowledge, but the Solaris family has preserved it for millennia." Feena stated proudly.

Kate, shocked, looked back at Victor and asked, "Do you know about the Moon Goddess?"

He shook his head, "Not much, I know only one thing she loved humans and the Moon was made by her."

"What, that story was true?" Feena shouted in shock.

He gave a nod, "I think so."
