Crimson System of Vampire Prince

Chapter 35: System Oath

"Kate, Stop! We can't kill her —yet." Victor shouted at Kate. Kate reluctantly let go, and Feena collapsed on the ground.

"Cough…Cough!" she gasped for air. After a few seconds, she calmed down and glared at Kate, "Your strength, how much has it increased?"

Kate gave a smug smile, "It broke through the threshold."

"Impossible!" Feena jerked upright

"Oh, I thought so too, but once I drank his blood and had sex with him. My stat strength crossed the threshold." Kate explained with a smirk.

Feena glanced at her and then at Victor with wide eyes. Then she shook her head, and a playful smile appeared on her face.

"Tell me, Victor, which family in Crimson Empire do you belong to? And I assume that you're not a Chaos God's follower, so it's not a problem for me." Feena inquired as she observed him from head to toe.

Victor came out of his thoughts and looked at her with confused eyes. "Do you know about the Crimson Empire?"

Feena shook her head, "Not much, but we keep a close eye on them."

Victor shrugged his shoulders. "What is the oath you were talking about? What are the conditions?"

Feena's smile widened as Victor changed the subject; she stepped toward him with her hip swaying seductively. "I won't tell anyone if you help me control my inner werewolf." A silky and seductive whisper escaped her lips.

Kate snorted and took out clothes from her inventory. She wore her tight blue uniform, hugging her close like a second skin.

"And I don't want anyone to know about this," Feena glanced at Kate, shouting the last sentence.

Victor turned toward Kate; she was already dressed up. He smiled and went back to pick up his clothes. Only pants and underwear remained; his t-shirt was all torn up. He wore the pants and came back. Kate gave him a smirk. He rolled his eyes at her. She laughed loudly.

Feena noticed the pair, muttered in confusion, "How could their chemistry be this good? Did their minds or souls get connected?"

Victor stood before Feena. "I accept your condition, but you should explain the System Oath."

Feena smiled and clicked in the blank space before her. A golden panel appeared before Victor and Kate's eyes.

Ding!

[Feena Solaris sent you a System Oath]

[Her Condition: Help her control her Inner beast]

[Your Condition: Don't reveal any of Victor Hans and Kate Hyperion's secrets to anyone.]

[Punishment: Any party that violates will lose the blessings of their God and System]

[Note: The System will warn the party if it senses a violation about to happen.]

[Do you accept?]

[Yes] or [No]

'I have become a vampire, a princess of the Hyperion royal family. I know I should feel sad, but rather I feel free. Free from anything binding me to the Holy Empire. I know I still love my family, and I don't want to tell them that I have become a Vampire, but I also don't want to go back.

My emotions and my memories are intact, but I feel disconnected from them.

I feel…

Kate glanced at Victor and smiled,

I feel a deeper connection with him than I do with my own family. Yes, I'm confused, but I'm sure of one thing that —I like him. And there's no compulsion or coercion in that feeling.

Kate's smile widened as her thoughts became clear. She stepped toward Victor and held his arm in her hands. A warmth bubbled under her cold chest; she felt peace near him.

Victor looked at her and smiled. He then glanced at Feena and nodded, "Ok, I'll accept the condition."

Feena smiled and clicked on her panel. Victor followed, and then Kate also clicked on the System screen.

Ding!

[System binding Oath]

[Feena Solaris, Kate Hyperion, and Victor Hans accepted]

[System will monitor the Violations closely.]

Feena's smile widened at that; she clapped and cheerfully chimed, "I'm glad we came to an understanding."

Victor looked around, observing the old walls. The corridor was dark, and the air felt suffocated. There was a musky smell in it, after sex smell, but he ignored it. He turned to Feena and asked curiously, "So, werewolves can see in the dark, too?"

"Yes, we can, and our smell senses are better than our eyes." She gave a mischievous smile.

"Oh, that's how you found us!" Kate shouted as pieces clicked in her mind.

Feena blushed as the memory flashed before her eyes. 'I will train with him alone at the Academy. I have heard about many secret areas I'll explore with him.'  She thought giddily.

Victor's eyes returned after observing every corner around him. He asked, "How can we get out of here, and what is this place?"

Feena and Kate came to their senses. They looked around themselves, and their eyes flickered. The thought about the strange place and how to get out of here never crossed their mind. Were they too busy enjoying the moment, or does it have something to do with this place?

It was a strange question, but a valid one. They dismissed it as soon as it rose in their mind. They were sure that they were just busy enjoying the moment.

"Feena, can you lead us? Can you sense or smell anything?" Victor asked as his instinct sent alarms.

Feena nodded.

Crunch, pop, squelch.

Bone rearranging sound echoed against the empty walls.

Feena transformed into a silver werewolf, with feline pale grey eyes, and standing upright. She raised her muzzle and sniffed the air. The smell of Kate, Victor was all over the place, and it was mixed with her own. She separated them all and then picked up a very light smell. If she hadn't focused enough, she would have missed it. A light smell of burning wax came from the narrow opening at their left in the wall.

She tried again, but there were only mundane smells other than that particular one. Feena changed back into her human form and gasped as the pain subsided with golden light flowing around her face.

Kate and Victor stared at her with wide eyes.

"Ahem, there's a burning wax smell coming from that narrow path." Feena pointed to their left. They came back to their senses, and Kate yelled, "That was awesome! How did you do that?"

Feena scowled at her and didn't reply. She turned toward Victor.

"Ok, let's move through that. We can only move sideways and one at a time. I'll go first, Kate second, and Feena, you'll be last." Victor replied, turning to the left. Both girls followed, without much of a fuss.

He gazed in the narrow corridor; the walls were different here. They were smooth and devoid of any dust. It felt like something or someone had properly cleaned them. He slid sideways between the cold walls. Kate followed closely, and Feena entered after her.

'Something about this feels strange to me,' He thought as he walked.

"Ahh, how much more do I have to walk like this. It's been more than an hour." Kate cried in frustration.

"Be patient, Kate, and keep your voice down. We should act carefully." He whispered.

Feena changed her face into a werewolf and sniffed the air again. She felt a strong smell of burning wax, and there was a different smell mixed in it, too. A smell she wasn't able to recognize, but it felt familiar to her. She transformed back and furrowed her brows, trying to think harder about that light smell, but suddenly she forgot the nature of smell. She knew she recognized a light one, but suddenly she didn't know its nature. It felt like it hid itself under the veil, and she could only see its shadow.

"Something feels strange here." Horrified, she whispered.

Victor whispered back, "Yes, be careful, "as she confirmed his doubt. Kate, walking between the two, glanced at them and shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.

Meanwhile, back at the Academy ground, Zara looked around trying to find Kate, but she couldn't. "Did she go back to the dorm?" she muttered to herself.

She approached the coach and asked, "Sir, did Kate go back?"

Derek shook his head, "No, cadet Zara, she and the other two candidates haven't returned yet."

"But she was ahead of us," Zara shouted anxiously.

"Yes, I know. Feena, Kate, and Victor, three of them, haven't reached here." Derek replied, glancing toward the path.

"What!" Zara exclaimed.

"Calm down, Cadet Zara. Go to breakfast, we'll handle it here." Derek said sternly.

"But, but my friends." Zara hesitantly asked.

"Go!" Derek shouted, pointing toward the castle.

Zara walked toward the castle with glossy eyes. "I hope nothing happens to them." She muttered anxiously, holding her hands close to her chest like a prayer.

Back in the underground of the forest, the trio was still walking. As Victor stepped forward, the narrow crevice lit up. His eyes widened as he looked back. There, right behind him, light stopped. Like an invisible layer stopping it. He treaded forward slowly, his body tense and eyes staring ahead without blinking.

Kate's eyes widened as she stepped beyond the invisible layer, and Feena followed with a similar expression. The trio moved with palpable tension in the air.

Victor spotted the crevice opening up in the wider hall, just a few steps, and he'll be out. He braced himself and raised his foot. His heart raced like a war drum, but he didn't back away; his foot landed outside of the crevice.

He paused.
