Chapter 503: One Less Pain
Hena wanted to stay inside Draxus' shadow when her stamina ran out.
She asked the man for that and the man agreed as well. But in return, he asked for Hena's body.
The elf girl's eyes widened and she was just about to complain or rant or run away when Pablo told her that Draxus was just messing around with her.
She didn't believe it at first but when she saw Draxus laughing she got it. He was just messing around. Still, she tried to confirm it and asked the man again if he was really joking or not.
Draxus laughed and told her that he was really joking because if he really meant what he said, then Pablo would have killed him. He was willing to stay virgin forever but would not go against Pablo's orders.
Hearing all that, Hena finally found some relief.
"But," Draxus said. "If you would be kind enough to join me for dinner after all this is over, I would appreciate it."
Hena frowned. "Is this another joke?"
"No. I am serious. Why would I joke?"
"You want me to go to dinner with you? Since when did I become so important?"
Draxus sighed. "You were always important. We didn't got to know each other very well. But if you join me for dinner, we might talk and become fond of each other. I know you don't like me but I can at least try, right?"
"Fine. I will think about it if I am alive at the end, of course."
"That would be acceptable. Tell me when you need rest and I will come."
Hena nodded and Draxus went inside his shadow.
Pablo and the other soldiers heard all that and the soldiers were jealous of Draxus. They didn't have the confidence to talk with Hena like that. Her beauty made everyone back off. They found themselves lacking when they see her beauty. They believed she didn't deserve any one of them.
But Draxus showed some confidence and asked her out and she technically agreed. She didn't say yes but she also didn't say no. Draxus had some chances. Also, they believed that Draxus was a fine choice as he was the right hand of Pablo Castillo. That was an achievement great enough.
Therefore, they let go of their thoughts about Draxus and focus on their fights only.
Pablo was busy shooting the cannon fodder vampires with his fingers but then he turned off his right earpiece.
"I didn't know you wanted something like that, Draxus. Took me by surprise." He said.
Draxus laughed. He also turned off his right ear-piece and now both men talked in private.
"I am also a man, Czar. I am not like you who doesn't care about love. I know she loves you but I still wanted to try. She is pretty and it would be nice to live with her till I get old."
"Sure. I already said I have nothing to do with your personal matters that don't involve me. I also wish she loves you. One less pain for me."
Draxus laughed once more. "Will that be all?"
"Yeah. I just wanted to know what you were thinking while saying all that to Hena. Now I know. Good luck, anyway." Pablo stopped talking and turned on the right-earpiece.
Draxus did the same and both men carried on their on-slaught.
"How long till you reach Malvador, Admiral?" Pablo asked, walking behind Admiral with his back facing her back.
He wasn't looking at the front of Harlia as she was enough to stop anyone from coming near her from the front. She was annoyed because of the Vampires coming from behind her and that's why she made Pablo stand like this.
Both Commanders' backs were against each other as they both controlled the front and behind.
"A little more. He is also moving fast and he is killing the soldiers as if he is increasing his kill count. As if someone told him to kill them as fast as possible. He is taking their hearts and gulping it in one go. He isn't even choking with all that. Does he think that if he killed all the soldiers, we would lose? The Cannibals have already lost even with their soldiers alive. So what good would killing our soldiers do to him?"
Harlia posed some questions and Pablo remained silent for a while.
He thought of various things that Malvador might be doing but in the end, he reached nothing.
"He had said that there would be a surprise for us. I don't believe he had shown us that surprise yet. And if he is really killing our soldiers like you are saying he is, then he is in a hurry for something. Tell me this, did you feel him getting stronger after he eats a heart? Are they giving him strength?" Pablo asked some questions of his own.
"I feel no change in him. He is only swallowing hearts. He isn't even chewing them. And I have no idea about what kind of hurry he is in."
Pablo sighed. "Then I guess, we will only find it when he shows us. All we have to do is wait and stay alive till then."
"Or," Harlia smiled. "We could just kill him before he even shows something in the first place."
"We could surely do that." Pablo agreed.
"Then what are we waiting for?"
"You tell."
Harlia laughed. "Fifteen minutes are up, Pablo."
"Oh. That's why you were walking a little slower than usual. I thought you didn't need an Ego to fight him."
"I don't. But to kill him, I definitely need it."
"Fine then. Go ahead." Pablo said.
"I am."
"Bring me his head if you can."
Harlia scoffed. "If he is lucky, then sure. If not…"
She bent her knees.
"Then you have to be satisfied with his ashes only."
Pablo smiled. "Go."
"Don't order me around, bastard!"
Both Commanders shared a laugh and the next second…
SWISHH!
Harlia took off in the air.
And her destination was only one person.
Malvador Nocturne. The King Of The Vampires.
