Chapter 396: Kindness is a Poison Too
Cupid prayed for Flashy's mother and when Pablo saw that, he scoffed and said pray for me too.
At that, Cupid shook her head.
"What?" Pablo asked.
Cupid smiled. A warm smile. A genuine one.
Before Pablo could ask about it, the Angel said:
"I already do."
Pablo's brows shot up.
'You pray for me?'
Cupid nodded. "I am an Angel. I wish no ill for anyone. You might find it annoying but I find forgiveness for everyone. Those Royals who ordered the erasure of the hermit slums, those slum dwellers who summoned a Demon to kill the Royals, that Demon who killed countless soldiers and people and that Demon…" Her eyes turned to Pablo. "Who killed hundreds of newborn children to kill that Demon. I have forgiveness for all of them."
The Angel stopped talking.
She had a thin smile on her face and an ever glowing glow.
Pablo stared at her.
He heard her every word and Cupid also kept her warm gaze on Pablo like the Angel she was.
In the end, Pablo solemnly nodded. Her words made him feel something and he shared that feeling right away.
'You are lame.'
Cupid's smile vanished.
Her brows twitched.
"How dare yo—"
'Shut up. I don't have that much time.'
Cupid didn't shut up but Pablo had already ignored her by now.
Flashy and the others were still on the ground, below the stage looking at him.
"How many times do I have to say? You all can go too. I will tell everything in detail on the third day." Pablo iterated.
Draxus, Flashy, Gerald, Hena and Nike, all nodded and started walking towards the exit of the ground.
But Hena stopped midway.
She turned around.
Pablo saw her and gestured with his brows.
She blushed but managed to say her mind.
"What about them? Are they going to stay here with you?"
Pablo looked over his shoulder.
The slaves were about to go down from the stage but they stopped when Pablo looked at them.
"Yes. They are to stay here for a while. I need to have a chat with them."
The slaves stopped their movements and stood still like before.
Pablo looked at Hena again.
Hena averted her eyes. "As you wish. I am taking my leave. I will meet you at night."
"Hmm? At night? So you can't take it anymore." Pablo asked.
Hena frowned but when she registered Pablo's words, her eyes widened as she shook her head continuously.
"No. No. I didn't mean that. It's about the details of my Ego. I will give that to you just like you ordered. I don't want to do that."
"Oh." Pablo smirked as he played a little. "You don't want to do that? Are you sure? If you ask me, I'll be ready to do it with you."
Hena flinched.
She jerked her head at Pablo.
"You are ready… to do it with m-me?"
She asked and Pablo held back a chuckle.
But then—
"Lies! You told me you like girls with a big bust." Cupid interjected from nowhere.
Pablo just gave her a glance and then again focused on Hena.
At that, Cupid knitted her brows.
"What's that glance supposed to be? That's the same glance you give to stupid people. Are you taking me for someone stupid? I won't tolerate it. I won't tak—"
Pablo let her rant and answered Hena:
"Yes. I will do it with you. Just tell me, do you want to do it with me or not?"
Hena lost her words.
Her mind stopped working.
She grabbed the wrist of her left hand with her right.
Pablo waited and Hena's meek voice resounded.
"Ye-yes. I want to do i—"
"Oh. Welcome, Sera."
"I don't want to do it at all!"
Hena changed her wordings faster than a missile as she turned around to see behind her.
And when she did that, she saw nothing but the metal gate of ground 2.
Where was Sera?
She jerked her head at Pablo.
When she saw his face, she finally understood.
The man was laughing.
He was just messing around with her.
Pablo laughed for a while.
"There is no Sera here, Hena. You are so dumb and a coward too. You changed your words faster than I change victims. What a day."
Pablo laughed a little longer and when he calmed down, he focused on the elf girl again.
And when he looked at her, his laughter died.
Hena was smiling.
She wasn't pouting, she wasn't throwing her hands around like he expected.
She was smiling. Like a real smile. Like she saw children playing.
Seeing that, Pablo was taken aback.
First of all, she was beautiful.
Second, she was dangerously beautiful while smiling.
And Pablo doesn't like to find something beautiful.
"What is it? Why are you smiling like that?" He asked, bringing his roughness back.
Hena shook her head.
"Nothing. It's just…" The smile on her face remained. "It's my first time I saw you laugh. And me being the reason for it, made it worth even more."
Pablo went silent.
Cupid squealed.
"She is so pure. You don't deserve her at all."
The Angel's words didn't fall on his ear and Pablo only watched the smiling face of Hena as if he was sucked into magic.
He thought she would lash out from the ground in annoyance but she found her happiness in his joke even if he joked on her?
What kind of action was that? How can someone do that? How can someone take a joke on themself and smile when the other person laughs at them? There's no way someone would smile, at least. There's no way someone wouldn't feel bad about it.
Pablo would kill if someone laughed at him like that. Pablo wouldn't take such actions lightly. He won't fucking smile at the expense of his own self.
So why the hell did Hena liked to see Pablo laughing and liked it when the laughter was because of her? What kind of plot she was scheming? What intentions does she have to do this? What was her motive?
What was this elf girl… planning?
