Creation Online

Geared Up for Origin - Edited

I found a lot of things acceptable when trying to build my world. One was that I could descend into a planet in my full form only before it was complete. After completion, only an incarnation of me could ever reach its surface lest my planet get ripped apart.

Next were the rewards and things I had received when logging in. I had barely checked them all out before and how they affected me but now as I appraised them thoroughly I couldn't help but appreciate once more the joy of gears and equipment.

You can see what lies beyond the next turn for you. Any spot or time, location, or event that is shrouded with uncertainty is laid bare to you. All moves and actions detrimental and unfavorable are revealed to your eyes.

I was smiling ear to ear as I instantly equipped everything useful. For now, I left the VULKANS prize in my inventory while donning the gown. Only now did I realize I had been covered by nothing but white thick smoke. It got me uncomfortable but I decided that there was no way the game devs would just let the players be nude in a game especially if they would be watching and also streaming this early on, it would breach lots of privacy rules.

Thinking this I shrugged off the thought of the white smoke and focused on Hera's Gown. It was purple with golden threads running down the sides, a thin strap over my shoulders, and nothing more.

I was completely bare within. 'I guess we never think of what fantasy folks wear within. Probably just pieces of cloth though '.

Uncomfortable, I quickly equipped the Cloak of the One and the Belt of Atlas. The cloak was white, grey, and black fur made from the hide of some animal. Most probably a wolf. It was held to my collar by thin silver chains and draped over my shoulders and down the sides of my arm like a coat. Atlas belt was golden with black intricate designs that made it look Greek.

'Atlas was Greek' I shrugged in understanding.

There was a loop for a scabbard on the belt which I surmised was for a sword. The Sword of Murre went there and to my other side went Xena's chakram. The Boots of the first appeared on my feet a pair of white feathers poking out and backward from my ankles. It was silver yet dim, with a trail of black weavings on its sides.

Then the crown of the supreme appeared in my palm. It was simple and elegant but humble. No flashiness to it. Just a twist of what looks like leaves, circling a band of gold. At rhe center was an empty spot where a jewel should have been.

"Is it damaged?" I frowned at rhe missing jewel before appraising the crown again.

"Nothing about damage. Or is that why it has a locked effect? " I bit my lip for a moment before shrugging and placing the crown on my head.

A shiver ran through me as the crown was equipped, I felt like I could do anything and everything. It was like my brain nerves were on a high yet still grounded with my senses.

"I love this game. Wish there was something like this in reality though." I added with a shake of my head.

I accessed the information in my stats mentally seeing some things now reflected by the gear I wore.

"Defense affects health. Players are gonna hunt for lots of defense-oriented gear to protect themselves. " I surmised. Looking myself over I nodded in contentment.

Then I clicked on the solar system available. Many options came up.

[NAME

DESCEND

DESTROY

TIME CONTROL

OBSERVATION

ANNOUNCEMENT]

Clicking on the name first I poked my cheek while contemplating. Since it was the first of my solar system then it was only fair to give it the starting name.

"Origin.".

The first option disappeared now replaced by the word Origin.

[ORIGIN - (Solar system)?

DESCEND

DESTROY

TIME CONTROL

OBSERVATION

ANNOUNCEMENT]

Tapping the question mark beside the solar system a plethora of information filled my head.

Origin was one of the many solar systems formed both from the dawn of time's remnant energy and the universe form creation. It had two Suns each holding the other with the opposing one's gravity. Orbiting both suns were various clumps of rocks or asteroids.

"I'm geared up for Origin". I double-checked before tapping on the first option.

DESCEND.

Like a bolt of lightning, my body dropped, the sensation of tearing through the air pricking my skin. The devs didn't have to add this part.

"Tsk" I clicked my tongue in annoyance as I shot through the nothingness and into the realms. Past the divine realm and into the sphere of the spirit realm.

A cold wind went up my skin as it gave me a sense of chills, not danger but more like the eerie feeling, one got from blizzard phenomena.

Breaking past the other side I shot out into the mortal realm. My body alligned like a star as I descended into the tapestry of gleaming lights.

I shot into the solar system of origin and finally, my descent died down. Floating there I stared around with a look of awe.

"Space".

"Beautiful"

Then I spotted it. Dark and foreboding like a ball of shadows. Like all light was lost in it even with the blaze of the glaring suns on it.

Once I stretched my intent to it a panel appeared.

[MISSION] - [RANK S]

[Lost world]

A barren core of nothing that was forged from the embers of divinities fires. Still lacks life, maybe.

[Forge world]

[Destroy]

Removing my intent I took it to the next one that was lighter and smaller.

[MISSION] - [RANK C]

[Lost world]

A barren core of nothing that was forged from the embers of divinities fires. Still lacks life, maybe.

[Forge world]

[Destroy]

"It seems the rank denotes some sort of difficulty. " my voice echoed around me. "I guess I'll find out soon. But which to take." My intent roamed through Lost Worlds accessing their ranks. The lowest was at rank D and the highest was rank S, it was the first world I had seen.

A part of me wanted to go for the easy one to figure out the game tempo before hitting the rough waters. But, a disadvantage of the crown of the supreme showed itself.

Lacking fear was a good thing until you dived headfirst into danger. Which was what I did as I tapped on the forge world for the rank S lost world.

And once again I was dragged down.

"Did I say I love this game?. Nah. I was wrong. I hate it". Hildelith muttered while glaring at the notification glowing challengingly in her sight.

Worse was the lack of choice in accepting or rejecting the quest. Hildelith was a second away from throwing a tantrum when a sound alerted her from nearby. The sound of a rock hitting the earth.

[Would you like to Stream, Record, or Both?]

Remembering the meeting from earlier she shrugged. What was the worst that could happen from streaming? If she finished the quest then fine if not too bad. She didn't exactly like being watched but since no one would know who exactly it was it could be fun. Either way, Helen wasn't one to care for fans but somehow Hildelith thought it might be cool.

Her thoughts were snatched away as another sound registered to her left. Quickly she selected both options and focused.

"If it's a fight then Vulkans prize will be better here".

Her Focus found her inventory while her eyes watched her surroundings. Finding the armor she willed it to be equipped in her body. It wasn't hard to think this was the method of getting it on since this game was all about Will or Focus. A flash of golden light embraced her for a moment before dimming.

A golden piece of armor was now wrapped over Hera's Gown. Her biceps were bare while her left arm was covered with a piece of leather gauntlets and on her right, a fingerless glove adorned her right palm while a golden band was strapped to her right bicep.

The Cloak of the One covered her back so she still had its stat boost, which with the boost from the Vulkans prize gave her a good chance. She checked out her stats to see the new configuration.

Only her health went up due to the defense points from the armor. While it looked good Hildelith felt for a moment that it wasn't going to be enough.

And she was right.

Rapid clicking sounds came from her left grabbing her attention, to her right something scuttled past in a flash leaving only the sound of footsteps on the dry ground.

An eerie feeling of foreboding washed up on Hildelith yet the Crown of the Supreme suppressed all fear. She was absolute. Right?.

The mood went from exciting and fun to deary and cold. a feeling like being tossed in a horror movie rising in her.

She wasn't scared though, just uncomfortable. Her hand gripped the Sword of Murre pulling out the blade of a fine short sword. Its white handle was made of bone and its blade glowed luminescent blue.

A blue that lit up tbe dark, chasing away the lack of sight. And yet was like a beacon.

And so they came. Moths to the flame.

With screeches and clicking sounds. Hildelith found her very first mob of the Creation Online game.

The Unknowns.

*****

Franco sighed with annoyance as he left yet another streaming channel. He was bored beyond his mind but didn't want to play games now. The fever for Creation Online was still running hot and he was drowning in it.

Franco had already mapped out his game plan for it once he entered the game next month. His spot among the alpha testers had already been secured, so all he needed to do now was follow as many of the Creator players on their channels as best as he could.

For now, the best streamer was a certain Creator 24. Though the username had changed to Gaglau. Very fantasy and roleplaying like name if Franco had something to say. Yet he didn't deny the guy knew what he was doing.

Yet after watching the Creator player for the last half hour simply forge templates and command his adolescent gods around while trying to create his universe Franco was bored once more. While it would be more exciting to be the creator watching wasn't very appealing to him.

So here he was scrolling through the lists of over one hundred Creator players when he saw something pop up.

The streamer site was segmented into three.

The public space where you could find all streaming creators. Then there was the personal space where your favorite creators who had been bookmarked or followed and subscribed to by anybody were located. Finally was the new streamers section.

It only showed those that had never streamed before. If after their first stream, you didn't like, follow, or subscribe you'd have to find them again if you wished to rewatch by searching the public page.

Right now he was seeing a red dot that appeared on the new streamer section.

Franco was confused as most of the Creator players were pro players and those who weren't were avid streamers. Either way, both and all had already streamed. It was why he hadn't bothered checking there. Some shared information only with their subscribers which meant only subscribers could see their streams. Others were just to get rhe followers and fanbase and also the gifting that could be given.

But Franco knew he had gone through a lot of streamers. He was shocked that there were still some who were yet to stream. Streaming now at the beginning of the game was a great way to gain fans. Especially with identities as Creator players.

Which was why he didn't understand the hesitation of some players to stream. All should have streamed by now. The red dot seemed to disagree though.

Still, he decided to check it out. Hopefully, it wasn't some other boring template creation. That was mostly what was going on now. It seemed most of the players hadn't progressed past their Universe creation.

The new streamer was marked with the normal golden hand symbol of the Creator players.

"Wait golden hand". Franco sat up. The other streamers all had white hands except for two, who had silver and bronze hands. Investigating he realized these were the second and third in the leaderboards.

"Doesn't that make you the first. Are you finally streaming? Ah this better be great number one" " He licked his lips as he sat straight took off his headphones and set his headgear on before he clicked on the steamer.

While the virtual pods were a thing, the virtual head gears had predated them. An immersion of audio and visual pictography that had wowed the younger gaming community back in the day. Even the movie franchises had gotten an increased boon from it. It was no wonder it was the best gear for delving into what Franco hoped to be the best streamer ever.

It loaded for a few seconds where Franco impatiently shook his legs. Finally, it loaded and the view encompassed his screen. A slight timer to his left topmost vision showed him a time frame.

'A two-minute time separation'. Franco knew that wasn't much which made this even better. The Ancient Ones were trying to watch and make sure nothing secretive was shown. 'Still, the time is okay'. Normally it would be longer to give them enough time to erase and CGI anything unwanted. It just proved processing speed for either the staff or A I depending on which or who was in charge.

The stream had started and the terrain was the first thing he noticed. It was dark there but somehow he could see. Franco knew it was the game staff lighting it up a bit for the streamers to see what was going on.

"Which means it's dark there."

His eyes focused on the player shown on the screen. Golden hair with a crown he had seen on a few of the Creator player's heads. She was garbed in golden armor over a purple gown that fell to her heels. The intricacies of the armor left him stunned while the sword glowing a bright blue as she held it up made him sit even straighter.

"Is this a fight?". he pondered. He had been expecting templates or something else. But a fight! None of the others has shown any signs of violence arriving in their streams.

The camera was showing the scene from above placing the player in the center. Which gave Franco a good view of the surroundings. Good enough for him to see the little shadows scuttling about.

Quickly he typed in a comment.

(@Zuggyman >> @CreatorHildelith) Where is this?

He quickly sent the message before looking up only to jump in his seat as a trio of creatures pounced into the light created by the sword.

The first rammed the player hard from behind sending her flying and losing her sword. Franco watched wide-eyed as another slammed into the still airborne Creator and sent her back crashing hard into the rocky ground.

His eyes kept watching while his hands found his phone and automatically clicked his speed dial as he called his best friend.

He watched as the creator rose now unarmed the blue sword still glowing faintly a few ways from her.

Her chest heaved up and down even as he argued with his bud to get onto the streaming site now and find the number one player streaming.

Franco barely heard the rest of the conversation as he watched the creatures lunge for the player again.

One flashed past her left slashing deeply into her bicep, another rammed into her abdomen taking a deep bite into her leg. A third from behind went for her throat biting harshly on it as it fought to rip it off clinging ferociously to her back.

His eyes barely noticed the streamer count at the bottom left of the scream pop up once then again as more people entered the stream.

A comment about what the hell was going on got ignored by him as the next scene progressed.

The moment it happened Franco found himself clicking the follow and subscribe buttons then glancing at the calendar on his wall as he wondered how long till a month would arrive.

He couldn't wait anymore. He had to get into this game.
