Created G.H.O.S.T. System - A Cyberpunk Story

Divergence Fifteen

MaxGear, despite its current reputation, is actually one of the oldest corporations in the world. They began in the early 1990s as a budget-conscious prosthetic company and never moved away from the basic model. Though they did transition into cyberware once powered prosthetics became properly outdated.

They did possess a research and development division, however, unlike other corporations, it never bothered to research new technologies. Its sole purpose was to work on items that were a few years out of date and to work on making them cheaper and more durable.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Usually, the easiest way to do this was to encase everything in a thick layer of metal, or other alloy. As a result, their cyberware gained a reputation for being reliable, ugly as sin, and heavy as the fat-person who broke through the ninth floor.

They were also cheap, and unlike any other corporation, MaxGear actually possessed a proper customer service department instead of a basic AI unit that didn't even work. All of this combined to create a business model that worked for them. They weren't anywhere close to being a megacorporation, however, the consistency of their business elevated them far higher than many other corporations.
