Crazy Blood Demon

Chapter 7: Danger Zone

Bob's decision to choose the Warrior class opened up a new world of possibilities. The system messages flooded his mind, and he took a moment to process the new skills and talents that came with it.

[You have unlocked a new talent: Warrior]

[You have unlocked a new skill: Low-level wapon mastery]

[You have unlocked warrior training: If you train for 1 hour straight, you will get XP based on how intense and well you train]

Bob's mind buzzed with the influx of information, especially from the Low-level Weapon Mastery skill. He quickly opened his status to see the updates:

You are or were a common warrior. This class is common and not hard to get, but it comes with some bonuses: 5% resistance to physical attacks.

You've learned to use weapons a little at a time. Your knowledge of combat has improved, and you're better able to use any weapon.

Bob felt more confident with his newfound strength and combat experience. The next system message caught his attention:

[All the accumulated food will disappear due to the influence of scenario 2]

Frustrated, Bob muttered, "I should have sold it all."

Looking around, he noticed his group was asleep, so he decided to sleep too. When morning arrived, he saw Eduard and David already awake. Nina was still snoozing. She also woke up a moment later.

David walked up to Bob and said, "That skinny guy was on stage a while ago, calming people down after they lost their food."

Eduard followed, adding, "We were thinking of joining the group looking for food outside."

Bob glanced over at the dark rails of the underground train where the system window flashed a warning:

[Danger Zone]

"I want to go monster hunting," Bob said coldly, pointing to the danger zone.

The group fell silent for a moment before Eduard spoke, "We'll go with you. After all, you're the strength of our group."

David agreed, and even Nina reluctantly nodded, although she yawned in discontent.

The group made their way to the tracks but was stopped by the thin man and a few others.

"I see you're going monster hunting," the thin man said with a wide smile, tossing Bob a flashlight. "But I'm glad you're here, we need someone to finish scenario 2."

Bob tossed the flashlight to Nina. "Light the way. This will be your only job," he said coldly.

As they walked through the tunnel, Nina handed a kitchen knife to Eduard. "Only on loan," she said, blushing slightly.

Bob pulled a hammer from his inventory and tossed it to David. "You can keep it."

"Thank you," David said gratefully.

The tunnel was damp and had a strange smell, making Bob uneasy. After about five minutes, they encountered a weak skeleton, which Bob dispatched with a single strike.

[+25 XP]

[+100 coins]

Then, the system flashed another message:

[You've stumbled upon a quest]

Food Hunt

Catch a monster you can consume as food.

Difficulty: E

Time limit: None

Reward: 500 coins

Penalty for failure: ????

Bob's group stared at a cluster of rabbit-like creatures with long spines. There were six of them. Suddenly, the rabbits' eyes snapped open, and they sprang to life.

"I'll fight, and when I get tired or injured, I'll withdraw. You all will fight in my place," Bob yelled.

As the hares approached, Bob readied himself. One lunged at him, but he quickly threw it aside. The hare hit the ground with a hiss, and Bob realized it wasn't dead—these creatures were resilient. The system didn't show any notifications about the kill, meaning the hare was still alive.

Two more rabbits jumped at Bob, but he blocked them with his sword and tossed them aside. One managed to scratch his left leg.

[-10 HP]

'At least the system didn't count it as bleeding,' Bob thought, relieved.

The three remaining hares pounced on Bob simultaneously. He threw two off, but one of them bit into his leg.

[-30 HP]

[You have the effect [bleeding], losing 1 HP every second]

"Fuck," Bob cursed, feeling the blood trickle down his leg. He quickly threw the remaining two hares onto the ground, where they bled to death, and finished off the last one with a swift strike.

[Quest - Food Hunt completed]

[For completing the quest, you received 500 coins]

[+210 XP]

[+660 coins]

[Ruby Ruler, Blood Shadow, and other watchers are pleased with your performance]

[They donated a total of 200 coins]

Bob quickly tore a piece of his shirt to bandage his wound, stopping the bleeding.

When he turned to his group, they were staring at him in awe.

"It's a good thing we have you, Bob," Eduard said, clearly impressed. "We probably couldn't have done it without you."

"You're cool, Bob," David added.

Nina, however, said nothing, her face flushed with a slight blush.

Eduard looked down at the dead rabbits and realized, "I guess we're supposed to eat it raw."

"Ugh, I'm not eating it raw," Nina said, visibly disgusted.

Bob and his group left the rabbits behind, continuing deeper into the tunnel, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead.
