COTE: Transmigrated as Horikita Suzune with Symbiote

Chapter 14: End of First Month

(1st May)

As the alarm woke me up, I checked my phone.

The balance in my primary phone is still 98,067 points like yesterday. So we got 0 class points huh.

I checked all the three other phones hidden in the closet, and combining the amount, I received around 102K points this month.

So in total, I have around 350K points right now.

Morning Mumma!

"Good morning."

Suzu receeded into my skin, I started getting ready for the day.

-------------------

"Hey Onodera, did you receive the points?"

I asked Onodera, who sits in front of me. We have actually become friends, given that I beat her in the swimming class.

"Nah. Maybe we will receive it later?"

"Hmm... but class B already received some points. They received 65K points, actually."

I have already contacted Ichinose to get information about her class.

"Huh!? That's weird!"

Kushida unnecessarily jumped in our conversation.

Well, she will be gone this month. Enjoy your high-school life while you can, Kushida. I have already made preparations to expel you.

All thanks to Suzu.

Hehe~

Thankfully, Chabashira-sensei arrived right on time, saving me from having to converse with this bitch.

"Sensei, are you on menopause?"

Ike asked this question.

... No wonder we got 0 class points.

I skipped over a lot of the explanation, and focused on the surprise test scores that happened yesterday.

I topped the class along with Yukimura and Koenji at 90 marks. Not so surprisingly, Ayanokoji scored 50.

As if he intentionally wants to attract attention. Why not score something like 53?

Aside from that, there were class points in order:

Class A: 940

Class B: 650

Class C: 490

Class D: 0

"In short, you all are defects."

As Chabashira-sensei said it, Sudo kicked his table, and Yukimura stood up and started complaining.

"Why am I in Class D!?"

Thinking about it, Yukimura's question is valid. He is very smart academically, and isn't a troublemaker.

Just because he has low physical ability and difficulty in mingling with others, doesn't mean that he should be in Class D. He should have been in atleast Class B.

While I don't plan on leading the class or anything...

"Yukimura-kun, if sensei says that this is a class of defects, it is possible that the homeroom teacher, Chabashira-sensei may also be defective."

I stared at her.

"Perhaps she was also in Class D and has developed some sort of trauma being called defect, and is lying right now?"

She showed no reaction, but her eyes did tremble a bit.

"There are some interesting things I discovered in the past month of investigation.

Koenji-san is the heir to one of the largest corporations of Japan. And judging by his body and test score, he can't really be called 'defective', right?"

"Fufu~! This school can't measure my greatness!"

"I am also very good in both sports and studies. I had a difficult personality to get along in the past, which I am trying to change.

Despite that, doesn't placing me in 'Class of Defects' strange? Surely, I could have been atleast placed in Class C, the class of delinquents?

I have figured out the true nature of the school. And it seems like sensei doesn't know it, or doesn't want us to know.

Sensei, can you please tell us, does the school have any official term for Class D, like 'class of defects'?"

"...No."

"Then please don't push your personal feelings and agenda on our class, and try to sabotage our progress. For all we know, the class points may even include the teacher's behaviour and ability as the head."

"H-hey Horikita-san! That's rude to sensei!"

Kushida tried to sabotage me again.

I ignored her completely, and stared at sensei, who kept her face straight.

"Spending so much money on a mere high school with just 480 students at a time. Keeping it as secretive as possible.

The purpose of the school is obvious.

It was built by politicians and their friends for their children and to get talented people to become their acquaintances for future.

Class D isn't a class of defects. It has people more talented than the even the teachers-"

I looked at Koenji.

"-and it has people that are criminals who should have long been arrested."

I looked at Yamauchi and Ike, who were harassing girls in the swimming classes by their leeching, disgusting comments, and would even plan to record girls changing clothes.

"Hey! Why are you looking at us!"

Yamauchi shouted, and I shook my head.

"You just imagined it.

Anyway, the message is clear.

All the four classes need to compete with each other.

And the classes are made based on Japan's economic model that made and failed it. But the people don't want to move on from that model.

All interacting companies having stakes in each other so that if one has trouble, the other can care for it.

If someone is expelled, the whole class will lose points, right sensei?"

"Yes."

"How much?"

"300 class points."

"As expected. The school represents the Japanese society. Just because a company is bad, the whole economy suffers. During the bubble burst which led to the lost generation, many bad companies led to downfall of good companies due to them having stakes in them.

But the school will try to apply some sort of equality formula.

Sensei, who were the top scorers of the entrance exam?"

"First was Koenji.

Second was Ichinose Honami of class B.

Third was Horikita, you."

"That was overall, or just academics?

On which place did Sudo get placed physically? And Yukimura academically?"

"... That was overall.

Academically, Yukimura was placed on second position, tied with you and Sakayanagi Arisu of class A.

And physically, Sudo was placed first."

Sudo cheered up hearing that.

"Then, if my assumption is right,

Class D has more people with overarching ability in some fields and exceptionally bad in others, some good-for-nothing troublemakers,"

I stared at Yamauchi while saying good-for-nothing.

"And some rotten apples that are time-ticking bomb for causing a bubble burst when this class will be climbing faster than other classes, to the point of no recovery."

I didn't look at anyone, but Kushida was shifting.

"Horikita-san! It's not good to say such things about our classmates!"

"I am not saying anything bad about our classmates, Kushida.

You, of all people, should know who I am talking about when saying 'rotten apple' and 'cause of bubble burst', don't you?

Considering that you purposefully lied in your introduction, that nobody from your middle school came here?"

"Wha-"

"Kushida, do you even realise that because of what you did in the middle school, your whole class became a mess, was destroyed, and even if the school wanted to cover it up,

because of you, not one, but atleast 20-30% of your class became suicidal?

And it doesn't seem like you intend on changing."

Well, another drama has started.

If I am going to expel Kushida either way, I will use it to gain a very significant position in the class, by 'saving the class'.

With 0 class points, I am not even going to have much backlash.
